Hello there! Thank you very much for your question. Before any product is released in Australia it has to undergo rigorous testing. The ION612 is no different. The unit does not release more than 1x 10/-9, in line with IEC/EN 60335-2-65.

We apologise for the lateness in response. Please let us know if you have any more questions and we'll be happy to assist you with them.

Can anyone tell me what decibel level these units emit?

Ionmax
Ionmax   DM

Hi Krystal, Thanks for reaching out. Each one of our units have a different dB level. Our most highly rated desiccant dehumidifier, the Ionmax Vienne has a noise level of 35 - 46dB. This level is equivalent to the quiet sound of an air conditioner humming from a distance.

You can check out the respective dB levels of each dehumidifier on our website via the link below: external link

My ION612 says that the ION is full. What do I do?

Ionmax
Ionmax   DM

Hi Raja, the ION button you are referring to is the ION function for negative ions. If the LED indicator is lit up, it just means that the negative ions function is enabled. You can press the ION button to turn it off/on. Do contact our support team at external link  if you need any further assistance.

Hi I am interested in using a timer to turn on/off the Ion612 at certain time of the day just want to check whether this will damage the unit in the long run as this is basically like having multiple power failures daily. For context, the room is rarely used but has humidity issue. Many thanks.

Sciarchitect
Sciarchitect

Sorry I cannot answer the specific question, but our ION612 has survived multiple power outages in the years we've owned it, and I haven't observed any issues with it so far. We have one that is left on virtually every day, and it shuts itself down at least once a day when the water tank is at capacity. Even in an environment that is not especially damp, if you turn it on via timer, you may not need to use a timer to shut it down (like a power outage), as it may shut itself off before the timer goes off anyway, if that helps?

Iris
Iris

Thanks Sciarchitect, that did help. Another question, does the unit shut down when it achieves the desired humidity level?

Ionmax
Ionmax   DM

Hi Iris, Thank you for your questions. Yes, you may use a wall-timer with your ION612 but as Sciarchitect has mentioned, the machine itself comes with its own time that you can preset to either 4/6/8 hours.

As for your second question - the unit goes to "sleep" when desired RH is met. In "sleep" mode, the unit will still be powered on but the heater will be switched off and the fan will be running on "Low".

I hope this answers your questions!

Sciarchitect
Sciarchitect

As above, our unit doesn't switch completely off when it hits the 40% humidity setting we have it on, but it does power down and will power back up automatically if the air gets damper. We have noticed it do this when there is water boiling on the stove in the kitchen, causing steam to circulate, even though the unit is in the next room.

Sciarchitect
Sciarchitect

Also, when the power comes back on after an outage, the ION612 comes back with whatever it was set at before the power failure. It remembers it's last setting and doesn't revert to any 'default'. Same for if you manually switch it off.

Hello ionmax team, I have ionmax dehumidifier ION612. Overall its a great unit. But the problem for me to use it in bedroom is the illuminated operating light. Is there a way to switch it off?

Sciarchitect
Sciarchitect

I don't know of any way to switch off the lights on any of the Ionmax products we have. The bright light on the air purifier is extremely annoying. We cover the lights with fabric, making sure not to cover any vents or filter inlets.

Sree

Im doing the same. I put a duct tape covering the area on the side where the light comes out - its bloody annoying.

Hi , I am having 95% in my room sometimes and it can get cold here like from 7- 16 degrees .what would be the best humidifier for me . I was looking Ionmax612 dehumidifier but the stock is unavailable now . Would you guide me in relation to my questions

Sciarchitect
Sciarchitect

I did some research before my purchase and chose the Ionmax ION612, and I've been very happy with it. During Winter we have been running it 24/7, because it's currently drying all of our clothes inside, as well as keeping Winter condensation down. The machine does generate a little heat, but if you are cold it's not a heater. You can currently pre-order it with the distributor for the end of July, or I've seen them on ebay.

Ionmax
Ionmax   DM

Hi Vineesh, A desiccant dehumidifier would be best as they work well even in cold climate. 95% humidity in your room does seem quite serious , so I would recommend considering the ION632 model as well (It is also the top recommended model by CHOICE since 2013). This model is in stock and available for purchase. It is similar to the ION612 but its 'big brother' and can remove more moisture a day (10L/day). Otherwise the ION612 is actually due to come in next week which is not too far away. Do contact our support team if you have any questions or would like further information.

Where can I buy a replacement filter for ION632 dehumidifier?

Ionmax

Hi EWM, thank you for your enquiry. The ION632 filter actually doesn't need replacement - you just need to clean it regularly to maintain it. If you need a replacement due to it being damaged, please contact our support team for purchase options at support@andatech.com.au

Ion610. How do you attach the continuous pipe as the one that arrived in the box doesn't fit. Also the instructions say to leave the tank in the machine but the tank blocks the hole where the hose goes.

Ionmax
Ionmax   DM

Hi Helen! Do refer to page 11 of the manual for instructions on connecting the hose. You'll need to knockout the hole on the back of the unit and then connect the hose through it and to the tank. The tank should be fully installed in position first before you insert the hose. For further assistance or clarification, you can contact our support team on 1300 800 200 or email support@andatech.com.au

I have had an Ionmax 680 that I was very pleased with. Unfortunately it is no longer working. Do you still produce them? If not what is the closest in size as I really liked the small, easily portable size of the unit?

Sciarchitect

There's an Ionmax 681 on the Andatech website. I think it's the smallest and cheapest Ionmax dehumidifier they have.

Hi there, this item is available at Dick Smith Electronics for $299, do you price match?

Sciarchitect
Sciarchitect

I think the distributor of Ionmax in Australia is Andatech: external link  I purchased one of mine from Dick Smith online, and it was the cheapest price I could find. I still thoroughly recommend the Ionmax ION612. When this last 2 weeks of rain started we had condensation on all the windows, which was all gone within 20 minutes of turning them on. We've had them on continuously ever since then, and there's been no dampness of internal air and surfaces. And we've had 670mm of rain already this month!

Ionmax
Ionmax   DM

Hi K Rigney. We don't price match our resellers :) You're welcome to purchase from them. The stock still comes from us and the warranty will still be covered by us. If you have other questions or concerns, feel free to call us on 1300 800 200.

Hi, we purchased the Ionmax 622 compressor dehumidifier last week and it is not collecting any water, the water collection tray is bone dry even after running for 24hrs. The humid reading has ranged from 80-89% and will not drop any lower, temperature has been around 28 degree Celsius. Is this right?

Hi there The specifications say that it use's between 400-720 Watts Power Consumption, is that right? Isn't that not energy efficient at all?

awiseowl
awiseowl

Hi Eddie, We usually turn it on during the days to use the solar panels. Look at it this way, I'd rather have no mould on our clothes or anywhere just to save a few bucks but I do understand your concern. In winter we have it on at nights & it warms up the bed room, also drys up the laundry too at the same time (kills three birds with one stone LOL). We have two dehumidifiers, two different brands one upstairs & one downstairs, can't live without them. Hope this helps, good luck.
