The set up process is ridiculous. whoever designed that needs to sit with people whilst they try & work it out. Otherwise, working well so far. Show reply

A nice efficient, effective little unit, except... the water tank can be really hard to open especially when full. It's currently sitting unused because I can't remove the tank to empty it!! If you do manage to open it, you'll break your nails in the process and spill water because it will come away suddenly. Show details

I am writing to share my thoughts on the Ionmax Leone 25L Smart Compressor Dehumidifier based on my experience using it alongside the Rhine 50L model. I would not recommend the Leone due to its underwhelming performance in humidity removal compared to the Rhine. After purchasing both units, I have come to realize that the Rhine is undoubtedly… Read more

the better investment. The Leone takes a considerably longer time to effectively reduce humidity levels, which has been quite disappointing. Moreover, the water compartment is relatively small, necessitating frequent emptying, and I found the absence of a handle for easy carrying and emptying to be quite inconvenient. Additionally, the control panel on the Leone is limited compared to the features available on the Rhine model, making it less user-friendly.

In hindsight, having used both products, I would have preferred to invest in two Rhines rather than the Leone. The Rhine is, by far, a more superior, efficient, and user-friendly product.

It is important to note that, while their performance levels differ, the conditions under which each unit operates have been designed to align with its functional expectations. It is fair to directly compare these units, given that they are both positioned in sized areas that appropriately meet their intended functionalities. As a result, as a consumer that has invested in these products there is an expectation that each unit's performance is consistent within its specific context.

A very worthwhile purchase – Where I live, it is very humid in summer. The ION625 makes life a lot more comfortable both in summer, with the humidity, and in winter, helping to dry bath towels every day, or washing on rainy days. As the dehumidifier dries out the air, I only need a fan to keep me cool in summer, and the slight temperature increase is not noticable as it is in… Read more ·  1

another room. I have the app loaded on my phone but, after the initial set-up, I haven't needed to use it and only use the controls on the unit itself, which are very clear and easy to understand. The only problem I've had was when the unit stopped, but a quick check of the manual showed me how to reset it. I can't believe how much water comes out of the air.

OK, but I don't like the app – It works, but I would prefer to control it through controls on the device and not through an app.

Right size with WiFi – We have been using it for a few months and so far so good. The WiFi control did not work with the suggested Tuya phone app, but we found out by chance that it is compatible with the Kogan phone app. It would be 5 stars if the phone app worked. Show reply

What matters most with a home dehumidifier? Cost to run and noise – Dehumidifiers take all day to fill a tank and so you need one that’s quiet and cheap to run. I’m another one happy to purchase the Choice dehumidifier review so I could quickly identify the lowest cost to run models, and found the Leone is also well built, quiet and low priced. It has a 4 year warranty with option to extend to 6. The wifi (which… Read more ·  1

you don’t need) didn’t work for me, and yes the tank is fiddly to remove without spilling some water … but on balance this is an excellent unit effective at drying the whole house in Melbourne over winter paired with central heating. As a dry house feels warmer, we also use less heating. Note refrigerant models like this are suitable for warm climates or cool climates where you heat your home to 18+ degrees. If you have an unheated damp space you need a desiccant dehumidifier (much more expensive to run).

Works well, but frustrating not being able to see how full the water collector is without removing – Has removed at least 12-13 litres of water at about 19 degrees celcius and initial ambient humidity 65% (running constantly). We are moving the air through the house and maintaining temperature using central reverse cycle air conditioning, and the humidity has decreased at least a little in all rooms. Good: This unit is relatively quiet, fairly… Read more ·  4

unobtrusive, and has adequate controls on the face although a very basic display with just the humidity as two digits. It would be nice if the panel included the temperature on screen as it does in the app. Setting up the dehumidifier on the 'Tuya' app went smoothly, and the controls update the device both when on the local network and away as expected.

Bad: There is no way to tell how much water is in the collector without removing the collector. Not just 'not through the app' - not at all - which is honestly bizarre. Once the dehumidifier is set, the one regular interaction with it is emptying the water from the collector, and there's no way to see how full the collector is prior to it being completely full. A simple transparent strip on the water collector would solve this problem.

There was a slight defect in the intake filter on ours (one thread is misplaced) which will have negligible impact, but is a little annoying. Not annoying enough for me to go through a warranty process, but annoying enough to note here.

Other: I chose this over the Breville LAD308WHT based on the Choice review - I wanted to be able to enable and disable this remotely, and this reviewed slightly better. The Breville apparently has better air filtering, but Choice rated the water extraction of this a touch better. They both work on the 'Tuya' system, and it appears they have basically the same control panel. I suspect they have the same limitation with seeing how full they are too.

Works Well – So far this decompressor condensor dehumidifier works well in hot, humid Sydney conditions. Only issue is that, no matter how carefully you remove the water tank, there will be a little spillage. Bought from Appliances Online, their delivery service is always excellent.. fast, efficient. And price is competitive. Show details ·  1

Great Wet Season Appliance – The unit has been quiet and easy to use. Rooms have been dehumidified back to a healthy levels within hours in over 90% RH keeping creepy mould and mustiness at bay in the wet. Show reply

Works fantastic, just needs a few tweaks to be 5star – The unit works great!!! I have used it for 3mnths now. POSITIVES: -Super quiet. -The wifi has been glitch free and app works perfect. -It sucks out alot of moisture from the air. -The red/green light on the front is great to know exactly where the moisture is at. -Unit cuts out as expected when water compartment is full. -The unit is well and… Read more ·  1

truly worth the money. -The unit is well made and no issues so far

NEGATIVES: -The water catchment compartment is tricky to open when it is full and because of the force needed to jiggle apart, water spills. I have it on carpet and need to put a towel down first, put the unit on top of the towel, then open so the towel absorbs the spills. -The water tray fills up too close to the top lip, causing the spillage as above and if not angled right spills also occur during transportation to the sink. -The catchment compartment opening mechanism could be easier. -The air output is a bit on the warm side, but thats the way evap works i guess.

Def 4 stars. 5stars if a couple of ease-of-use tweaks get made on the updated models.
