The dehumidifier has been doing a wonderful job for our garage. It diligently draws water daily from a rather humid space. The garage now smells fresh again. We highly recommend it for rooms with high humidity. And this company has been a pleasure to deal with. Show details
POSITIVE POINTS The packaging was adequate. The delivery notifications & date worked as advertised. The unit is simple to set up & run. In a small, relatively cold room (9 deg C) with an open doorway, it consistently removes 350ml/hr , and warms… Read more
the room up by 1-1.2 deg C when run for 4 hours. As mentioned in every review, it is smaller and lighter than a compressor dehumidifier - but probably not significantly different from other desiccant dehumidifiers.
NEGATIVE POINTS Two missing features prevent what I consider "normal operation", which is to prevent mould forming on clothes in our storeroom. IMO "normal operation" should be: you set it up to come on each day at a fixed time, for a fixed duration. During that time, it should discharge continuously through a length of plastic tubing of at least 3m length, which can be taken across a passageway to discharge externally under a door or through a drillhole in the wall.
This unit does not have any scheduled timer, which is a major nuisance, especially when a lot of other applicances for room use (eg, oil heaters) do have one. It's not an expensive item to add to the device.
The length of plastic tubing supplied for "continuous drainage" was unusable, resembling a very short, very stiff length of garden hose, and of far larger large diameter than needed. Some other dehumidifiers come with several metres of softer, much narrower plastic tubing (like LDPE "beverage tubing"), which I have used in the past, and which works well. Continuous drainage is just as essential as the scheduled timer. Apart from laundry clothes-drying use, there is no point in running this kind of unit just once. It needs to run daily, and if you forget to empty the container just once, you have a soaked carpet.
These two deficiencies prevent this model from being used in a "set and forget" fashion. If I had seen another brand with good reviews and with these 2 features included, I would have immediately chosen that other brand instead.
There were other evidences of poor industrial design, although less important to daily use. These include: 1. the pull-out water container is quite flimsy: I think it will soon get broken in most households if it has to be emptied every day. 2. central handle on the water container is poorly designed, as the container swings around too much when you carry it full of water. A more stable handle, or pair of handles, would not have been hard to include. 3. the emptying slot is poorly located, so you cannot pour the water out cleanly without it splashing against its own plastic surrounds. Annoying if you want to pour it into a jug to measure volumes, for instance, or into any receptacle smaller than a toilet. 4. there is a hygrometer readout, but no temperature read-out. If you want to record collection rate vs humidity and temperature, which is a reasonable thing to do, especially as figures for comparison are available from source like Choice, you can't do it. Also, the temperature is a key figure to record when battling mouldy surroundings - which is a very common reason for buying this type of unit. 5. The water tank should be removable from the front instead of the back, so you don't have to keep turning the unit around if you first want to read the control panel, and then want to remove the water container. It sits flush against the body, so front removal would not be unsightly. 6. There is no instruction guide or manual of any kind, apart from a some minimal information on a single sheet of paper - useless. 7. the optional HEPA filter is expensive considering the low grade material. 8. The boxed item makes no mention at all of the expected life of the zeolite material which is essential to its operation, nor any mention of whether it is replaceable, nor the likely cost. The company's website claims it "doesn’t need frequent recharging or maintenance" which is too vague to be reassuring. 9. There is no mention at all of whether the discharge water contains significant amounts of zeolite or other leached chemicals, and no mention of whether it is safe to use it for other purposes: eg, for filling steam-irons, or for watering plants, pets or stock.
CONCLUSIONS It works in cool rooms, unlike a compressor dehumidifier, so this meets the most immediate requirements. However there are many poor design features, and I distrust the lack of any details about zeolite life, replaceability & cost.
Follow-up · Follow-up: in answer to some questions asked: 1. I do not as yet have an answer for the drainage issues. I turn it on when the storage room is cold and humid, and empty the bucket manually. As previously stated, I would *like* to set it up to run automatically, but this isn't possible because of both the drainage issue AND the lack of a timer. … Read more
Dehumidifier was incredibly loud and died quickly. Similar to several other reviews here - when my dehumidifier was nearly 3 years old the ‘check’ light came on and the unit would not run. Customer service won’t help you troubleshoot (or even read your query), they’ll just immediately suggest a very expensive inspection and repairs that cost nearly as much as the machine did. Have always struggled with mould and dampness here in the rainforest of VIC, so I'm very glad I purchased an Ionmax for our living space. It warms the air as well, and is so efficient! I’ve already fwd the website link to so many of my friends, and I bought two for my work!! Honestly can’t recommend them enough for damp spaces! (Thinking about… Read more · 1
buying another one for our shed!) Oh and delivery time was excellent!! Our bedroom is quite small, the dehumidifier we have is not too loud, but did take a bit of getting used to - it’s just white noise now haha I bought it from the Ionmax Website :)
I had very bad mould issues so I bought this dehumidifier to see if it reduced the moisture and humid conditions in parts of my home. I was shocked at how much water it captured. Highly recommend. Place smells great now. Has the blue butterfly approval. Show details · 1
Awesome dehumidifiers – I bought two ionmax Ion612 about 8/9 months ago because of bad humidity levels inside our house. Whenever the house was closed up it was horrible with inside humidity levels over 80% which caused mould issues constantly. Since buying these dehumidifiers i use them when the house is closed up mainly overnight and it has been amazing that these… Read more · 2
machines can reduce the inside humidity levels down to 40/50% which is an acceptable level. The machines do raise the temperature of the room by about 5 degrees, however, they are easy to operate with clear and simple settings and directions - i would recommend this brand of dehumidifiers with a great range of machines to suit any area or situation !
On our experience an Ionmax won't let you down – We had lots of problems of humidity in our house near the beach. We eventually acquired an Ionmax and it was running continuously except for when it needed emptying. We also had an instrument that measured the humidity in the room and with the Ionmax running it markedly reduced the humidity levels. It worked so well that we also purchased a… Read more · 1
second one for a seperate room, and it solved the humidity problem there as well. We haven't noticed that it makes a significant change to the actual temperature of the room although it does feel more comfortable with a lower humidity. Now in summer in a subtropical climate only 499 metres from the beach both are working all the time, except when needing empty. The controls are self explanatory and they are very easy to operate. Certainly if one eve dually breaks down it'll be replaced with another Ionmax. We have been offered a discount for this review whether it was good, badf or indifferent.
The best investment ever – The best thing I’ve ever bought! My windows no longer have moisture on them in the morning, Air is no longer damp, smells are gone and black mold is no longer growing. Room smells fresh and musty odor has gone Show details · 1

I had my ION630 unit almost 3 years. Recently after I turned it on, it will run for at the most one minute and flipped to the 'Check' Led. I contacted Andatech for advice, and they said it could be the fuse and heating element that needed replacement, together with the inspection cost and postage, it will cost $373 with one year warranty, but they… Read more
will have to inspect the unit before a final cost can be decided. Andatech also offered me 30% discount on new identical unit (RRP $549), and the best they could do is $350. My argument is, a unit at that price point, I expect it to be durable and reliable. I have had a few delonghi ones and they are very reliable, I had one that lasted over 20 years, another at least 10 years old now. I am hesitant to spend another $350 or $370+ on a unit that is not that reliable. My thinking is if I buy a new one it may only last another 2+ years only. I saw some similar reviews on this platform so wanted to share my experience as well. I have done all the right things, cleaning the filters regularly, switch it off when not needed, etc etc. I am really disappointed.
We live in an area of high humidity. We have two Ionmax 612s and two Ionmax 622s. Very different machines. The many pluses of the 612 are that it can run quiet, it is light, has a small-ish footprint and has a number of options - such as variable fan speed. So it is perfect - for example - running in a bedroom at night. The minus - and there is… Read more · 1
only one - is that it is less efficient at pulling moisture out of the air. The 622 is a beast that way but it weighs more and is noisy as, has less options and pro and con - needs emptying often (if you don’t use the included hose) - several times a day. Tip - the extracted water is good quality - we use it for pot plants. So if you wanted a quieter, gentler, easier maintenance (in terms of emptying) and more portable dehumidifier, the 612 is perfect. It is our go-to bedroom and tv area machine(s). The 622s are our workhorses for those rooms we’re not in much. Both machines warm the room, not surprising when we are running them 20 hours every day - did we mention we live in a humid climate.
Miracle machine – To call this dehumidifier a miracle machine is not an over exaggeration. Used Ionmax Vienne for more than 6 months and it’s still working strong vacating all the moisture from the air of any rainy day. Super quiet, and a super fancy design that does not ruin the quality of the room it is placed into. Although it requires emptying like 2-3 times a… Read more · 1
day on a super humid day, but the fact that you can tip 3L every time makes it super satisfying knowing that you really removed that much moisture from the air. The room that is dehumidified on a rainy day makes it the perfect room to take a rest while watching the calming rain clouds. On hot days, this dehumidifier can also remove moisture on rainy days, but the only downside is that it also creates heat over time. So I usually set the Vienne for 4 hours and turn on the aircon on dry mode. This literally reduces humidity from 70+ down to +-58 in a couple hours while not heating up the room anymore. Ionmax Vienne is so reliable that I would definitely recommend.

Efficient, reliable and clean. Lives in our bathroom and it mops up all the humidity, leaving on the bathroom mould free and safe for our family. Will move around the house if required and love the laundry function for drying clothes indoors in the winter- it works and beats an energy-hungry dryer. Worth the investment. Got the entire family onto these! Show details · 1

Being using the appliance for about two month and work perfectly. I use it every day in a rampus room whith high humidity and is helping a lot. I will recommend it. Show details · 1
We've had this a little over 2 years now and it's been a great investment. It's kept the humidity of the room under 50 and although it's a little under 8kg, it's easily portable with the handle to move between rooms. Being a desiccant dehumidifier, it's quieter but initially the smell can be a little over powering. It's really easy to use without… Read more · 1
too many complicated buttons. The tank is large enough so we empty it every couple of days and the only criticism is that it can be difficult to remove the tank due to its design. Another big plus is the additional 2 year warranty to take it to 4 years when you register online but this machine has been running flawlessly since we've had it.

I have had my Vienne for 3 years. It has worked perfectly for these past 3 years.Recently it started to make a loud continuous noise whilst on.As i wanted to keep using the unit I thought to contact Andatech to have it repaired. around $75 (mailing and fee to look at unit). The repairs came in at $300.Andatech offered me 30% discount on new unit. I have declined both offerings because not worth reparing old unit and if I buy a new one it may only last another 3 years I am very disappointed that my Vienne only lasted for 3 years.1 year past warranty. Please be aware before purchasing that your Vienne may only last 3 years. Andatech did say that really my fault as filter needs to be cleaned and water in unit. Both of which i disagree on. I do have a second Vienne and hoping same issue does not happen to this
I purchased the ION 630 dehumidifier as the reviews were positive and expecting it to be a reliable, long-term investment. Unfortunately, it failed in less than 3 years of normal household use. For a product in this price range, I would expect much better durability and reliability. Very disappointed with both the performance and the short… Read more
lifespan. I would not recommend this brand, especially if you're looking for a product you can depend on for the long term. I reached out to their support team and they refused warranty, it looks like it only had 2 years warranty if it was purchased prior to 2022.
Terrible – I had to return this item because it failed to do what it claimed. I thought I had been very careful, checking room measurements carefully. It pumped out hot air no matter the settings.

First one stopped working after 3/4 months. Exchanged no problem and the second one working great for 4 years. Very effective, also dries my laundry in wet weather. No hesitation in recommending. I will stick to this brand. Show details · 1
Highly recommend – Have been using the ionmax for about six months now after a recommendation from a mould expert. These are superior to a previous brand of dehumidifier we had. Very powerful and effective. In Canberra winter our 2 ionmax dehumidifiers stay on for most of the day/night. Only downside is that they’re not quiet, but I’ll take the effectiveness over the noise any day. Show details · 2
excellent product but leavs throat dry if left on, all night – To be honest i really like, it is one of the best, but the only thing is, it leaves my throat very dry all night. i wake up with the most weird feeling of dry itchy throat in the morning. PM2 or PM2.5 rating when the air is clear. it picks up when i am cooking and the air quality goes up to PM 50 or something... then slowly clears it up..it works fantastic. Just dont like the dryness if i leave it on all night! thats all. Otherwise it definitely helps my house with clearing mould. easy to clean the filters too!
Excellent Dehumidifier! Highly Effective! – This dehumidifier works brilliantly, quickly reducing moisture and improving air quality. The laundry mode is a lifesaver on wet days, speeding up drying time. Overall, very happy with this purchase! Show reply

Efficient dehumidifier for small spaces – Very useful appliance. It’s light and portable. It’s quite small so it only works for small spaces.I keep it in my laundry to dry things out in damp weather. awhile and I thought I’d have to replace it because it was out of warranty. But I contacted the service department and the customer service officer was very helpful and managed to explain to me how to fix it. I was very happy it’s been working ever since.
Works well - quiet too – Works well, does what is say it does. Reasonably quiet (part of the reason I chose it), happy with the purchase. Pretty easy to remove and empty water container. Show details · 1
Great and we are going to get another – In Brisbane's humid conditions we would struggle without this Ionmax Dehimidifier. We have a small room that we store clothes in, and they used to go moldy. Now they don't and we also use it to place out wet shoes and clothes in there if we will need them for the next day. The only suggestions that I have is to have a 24-hour timer on it, to run through the day and turn off overnight (solar panels on the roof). Show details · 1
Excellent service from Ionmax – Excellent service from Ionmax. We had a problem with our dehumidifier which was out of warranty. The staff at Ionmax were most helpful in trying to resolve the problem, which we were unable to fix. We were offered a new dehumidifier with extended warranty at a discount pice. The replacement humidifier is working efficiently, particularly good for helping dry clothes. Easy to use. Would highly recommend. Show reply
Marriage saver! – Brilliant! Not sure about indoor air quality, but its effectiveness as a dehumidifier is outstanding. For years we have suffered from serious humidity issues but had never previously tried a dehumidifier. This one does everything claimed, and does it quickly and quietly - on cold days there is also a slight warming effect which is most welcome. Programming features are excellent, and the controls simple to understand and operate. Show reply
