finally be told that they can't help us. I am upset with the wasted time I spent with them and wish I had just done my research. GETTING A LOAN SHOULD NOT BE THIS HARD. The mortgage broker I dealt with gave me hell on earth, telling me everything I needed to hear to keep me as a customer. just whatever you do, do NOT go with these guys. They will waste your time which in this market, is not something they we have on our side.

[Name Removed], one of their agents who lives in Kurajong, NSW and also owns Serene Finance, tried to defraud by business of $356. Imagine for that small amount he would ruin his reputation? DO NOT TRUST THIS MAN WITH YOUR MONEY!!!

Having previously been with Aussie Home Loans, I was recommended to Mortgage Choice by Athena Home Loans for a line of credit. and time out of it, etc. When I went through Aussie, I had little to do, provide a checklist of documents, etc. Not so with Mortgage choice, there was always something more needed, we seemed to be doing all the work for the broker. Took and an eternity for something really simple, so many delays. Then the icing on the cake :( They got us to set up the offset and then didn't have it set up properly so we got charged the full hit of interest on the loan amount and we hadn't used a cent! Then the broker (at fault) and the bank both started pointing the finger at each other without actually taking care of the customer. Then silence...Had to start the process of involving the banking ombudsman to get it resolved.

Scammy con artists – Disgusting dodgy con artists. Spoke with someone who clearly wasnt in australia. Promised to set me up with a local mortgage broker within a few days but over a week on and still havent heard anything. Tried calling and sending text messages only to get ignored. Scammers.

Fortunately, I decided to cut my losses and switch to a new broker and bank. And guess what? My loan was approved for the full amount of $570,000!

The contrast between the two brokers was like night and day. The new broker was proactive, communicative, and efficient, ensuring a seamless loan approval process.

Save yourself from the hassle, stress, and wasted time. Avoid this mortgage broker and take your business elsewhere. Your time and sanity will thank you!

Trying little tricks to rip you off for more profit – Just letting the public know to be aware of their branches little dirty tricks, right at the beginning of doing business with their new customers. 2018 I asked at a branch in QLD for a borrowing capacity check. lady did so, came back after a few days with the results. A week later this lady sent me an email, writing “hi, there are still a few papers to sign, if I had a look” I had a look at the attachment and couldn’t believe it. A subscription to their “service” (in % to an outstanding loan, if arranged, $80/month, prob. far more at the beginning) next to the onetime commission, for the length of the mortgage. What is the ongoing service? Receiving their advertisement emails! I wrote back and she stated wrongly, we would had talked about it, and I would had agreed to that option, bedded in a long distracting blabla there were the words “to keep in contact, for to best serve our customer” We never talked about any commission or any further engagement!

So please, be very careful when doing business with them or any broker, in fact any business in Australia. They are all not on your side. Question every little expense, even or in particular, when dealing with large sums.

Had to upload lots of private information upfront via their app and was told they couldn't proceed with providing the assessment otherwise. to talk me out of some of my preferences. I was also asked to provide even further information beyond what was uploaded and it became clear that the main aim was to get me to agree on a loan and submit everything to a lender as soon as possible. I was simply not ready to make a big financial decision without proper deliberation and further research so I decided to disengage.

It all became outright stalkerish from that moment and the broker started to behave like a jealous ex. I received 20-odd follow up messages over the course of 3 or so days, followed by an angry phone call and further passive aggressive emails. The broker even called other brokers within Mortgage Choice (and openly admitted to doing so) to check if I had taken my business elsewhere (!!). It's beyond me why anyone attempting to run a serious financial services business would engage in such behaviour.

I asked the franchise to please delete all information that doesn't strictly need to be kept on file - no response (even though they were exceedingly quick on emails while I was still a prospective customer). I cannot edit/delete anything via the app - I no longer have access. Now in the middle of a tedious process of trying to elicit answers. Honestly just feels like being the victim of data theft with zero control over the situation.

I can only strongly recommended to everyone to *NEVER* upload your information into the Mortgage Choice systems/app, or only provide minimal information if you do. If the broker isn't happy to meet with you without having your entire life history uploaded, find someone else. You will lose control over your own information. You are basically relying on them to do the right thing and store/handle/discard information appropriately.

Worse than real estate agents – Are there any honest, trustworthy or reliable brokers? I would need convincing. Product sold was not fit for purpose. I believe the dishonesty was influenced by the commission. There was no regard for the personal impact caused by lies and greed. Show details

When questioned as to where the comparison was at we were met with attitude as we were apparently asking to compare apples and pears (isnt this the job of a broker). He then referred to me by the incorrect name, it was at this point a ceased all business. AVOID WHERE POSSIBLE THEY ARE NOT WORKING IN YOUR BEST INTEREST and will attempt to push you into making a decision before seeing any kind of information.

The process was at times overwhelming, however Irene and Shubha took control, answered all my questions, and managed every part of the process for me. From start to finish. borrowings. He suggested I put in an application for a loan increase for that ‘lost’ amount. I told him (26 Feb 23) we would hold off as I was waiting for plan approval from Knox council and I’d add that amount to the new loan request when that plans approval became available.

On 25 July 23 I emailed request for information re borrowers who consider owner/builders; 31 July I resent same email as I’d not had any response. Mitchell did respond that day I then requested further information to get that ball rolling. I quite literally heard NOTHING from Mitchell until I sent another email 16 Nov requesting we discuss my previous email. Not receiving any response, I phoned the office on 17 Nov and spoke to Vartika who assured me Mitchell did still work at the Wantirna office and he would call me back that afternoon – he didn’t. He sent an email requesting a payslip with the information that he would “run some numbers”. I forwarded the payslip on 20 Nov and waited. 22 Nov I received an updated payslip and sent that through to Mitchell to which he replied that he would “get back to me tomorrow”.

The Christmas/New Year reduced tempo period has come and gone and I’ve not heard a whisper, no email, no phone call nothing! What is this service that I have to chase down a consultant?

Though it took me sometime too finally commit to contacting a broker too see where we sat with our plans as we wanted to buy pre existing but wasn't quite able to in the area we wanted. We looked for nearly our entire pre approval period before we did decide to build, and we just got our paperwork in the day before the time was up at like 6pm that afternoon, rate rises would have put a dent in our plans if we didn't meet that deadline and the team at Mortgage Choice got it done for us.

We're both happy we picked Mortgage Choice Ipswich.

Would we use them again, Absolutely. Hopefully in the near future if plans work out.

Telling me i will need to disclose everything. I have nothing to hide, I just want to refinance my loan. Id rather stay with my current lender and pay the extra interest than go through that interogation process. I clearly chose the wrong broker for me.
