Chinese, communicationwas very smooth, which made a big difference to me. I had many questions along the way and contacted him numerous times, and he was always patient and willing to help.
Even after the construction was completed, Lucas continued to assist me with various enquiries. In particular, he guided me step by step through the process of applying for the Occupation Certificate (OC), explaining everything clearly and making what could have been a complicated process much easier.
His professionalism, patience, and willingness to go the extra mile have been truly impressive. He has been a great support to me, and I sincerely appreciate all his help.

I receive the promised Friday afternoon update calls weekly and any questions I have during the week are answered promptly. The build quality has been great above expectations if being completely honest. Any clarifications or adjustments on workmanship have been handled collaboratively, with a lets see what we can do that work for both sides rather than a “this is how it is its built now” approach.
Considering a knockdown rebuild is a significant undertaking of time and funds, this level of communication, flexibility and quality product has made the process much easier. I’m really looking forward to handover, which hopefully isn’t too far away.

We initially started the process with another builder, but while still within the cooling-off period, I visited Metricon display homes in Berwick, VIC, to explore options. During that visit, we met an amazing sales consultant who completely changed our direction. After reviewing our lot, she proactively reached out to let us know that the house… Read more · 1
we wanted wouldn’t comply with setbacks and developer restrictions (something that hadn't been flagged by the other builder). This allowed us to withdraw in time and secure a more suitable lot. From there, we continued the process with her, and she was exceptional throughout. She provided practical, well-informed advice, helped us maximise value within our budget, and ensured we took full advantage of promotions. Her availability was outstanding, supporting us after hours and on weekends, and she always responded quickly.
There were a couple of misunderstandings during quoting (bricks vs Hebel and the inclusion of a fridge water point), but she quickly resolved both issues without any additional fees. We also went through the fast-track process (16-week site start), which was met. However, it does come with trade-offs. In our case, it meant completing all colour and upgrade selections in a single day at Studio M.
This made the process quite intense, as any decision not made on the day would effectively be missed due to the fast-track requirements. It definitely adds pressure, especially given the number of decisions involved.
If you’re planning to build with Metricon using the fast-track option, I strongly recommend visiting Studio M at least a couple of times beforehand. This gives you a much better understanding of the options and helps you prioritise decisions on the day. We did this, and honestly, I don’t think we would have got through it otherwise.
The Studio M team was excellent, very knowledgeable and supportive. They helped us maximise our budget and provided practical advice on what to prioritise, what could be done later at a lower cost, and where it made sense to invest upfront.
While everyone did a great job, the consultant from the electrical section stood out. His recommendations were spot on, especially in helping us understand where to invest and where to avoid unnecessary costs.
Initially, we were advised that we would likely move in around mid to late 2026. However, progress has been significantly faster than expected. Construction formally started on January 13th, and by March 25th, the house is nearly complete, with only minor items remaining (caulking, water heating unit, taps, carpet, and mirrors).
We’ve been advised that the final inspection will take place in early April, with a potential move-in by mid-May at the latest.
The build quality has been excellent throughout, as seen on the job during inspections, and the construction speed has been outstanding. The site manager has also been very responsive and easy to work with, which has made a big difference during this stage.
My wife was initially unsure about choosing Metricon, but she now agrees it was the right decision, and so far, we have no regrets.

was completed very quickly. The overall build timeframe was impressive, and the project moved faster than expected. However, the speed of construction appears to have come at the expense of attention to detail and finishing quality.
At handover, there were numerous incomplete and defective items that should not have been overlooked. Basic fittings such as towel rails and toilet paper holders were not installed. Window fly screens were missing throughout the entire house. Additionally, one of the showers is leaking, which is a significant defect that requires urgent rectification. These are not minor cosmetic oversights — they are essential components of a finished and functional home.
Furthermore, despite informing the team multiple times, leftover bricks and building materials have still not been removed from the site. This reflects a lack of proper site clean-up and final quality checks.
Building a home is a major financial and emotional investment. While speed of construction is important, quality workmanship, thorough inspections, and proper completion of all agreed inclusions are equally critical. Based on my experience, I strongly recommend that prospective clients conduct very detailed inspections and ensure everything is clearly documented before final handover.
I encourage anyone considering building with Metricon to think carefully and THINK TWICE!

I was the unfortunate victim of the drama that plagued the building industry in Victoria and had one builder ghost me after collecting my deposit and then the second builder went into liquidation. By the time that I had recovered somewhat from all of those unfavourable experiences and made an appointment with Metricon, I was pretty worn out at that stage and not sure i could actually go through with this.
My first interaction was with [Name Removed] at the Officer South display. HIs care and patience and understanding did not go unnoticed by me and I truly left that meeting where we discussed plans with a renewed hope, but still incredibly wary. We worked together on it and really did put together a plan that I started to fall in love with right away. His advice and guidance was right on the mark and soon enough I started to work with [Name Removed] on all things presite. This is a technical and kind of confusing phase but [Name Removed] was always there to provide assurance and keep the process moving and also really patient and understanding when the nerves kicked in for me.
Before I knew it, it was Selections time and I worked with two amazing people at Studio M - [Name Removed] on the Interiors and [Name Removed] for Electrical. These were well paced appointments where they both provided great guidance on the daunting task of fitting out your home. Both of them were respectful of my budget constraints after a troubling few years trying to build and worked with me to get the best outcomes, make some great suggestions where to channel any extra funds for fitout but I never felt pressured at all. The outcome was great and the excitement started to build from there.
We quickly progressed to Site Start and Construction, towards the end of 2025. I was very lucky to get [Name Removed] for my Site Supervisor and worked with [Name Removed] as my appointed Building Support Coordinator. Both were an absolute pleasure to deal with, kept me informed on how things were progressing, answered questions when I had them - really wonderully supportive people.
The construction kept a nice pace and it was thrilling to see the land go from nothing to Slab to Frame to Lockup. We had a few chances to go and see the house during construction and sure, I saw things which I was a bit unsure if it was right/correct or might have looked a bit sloppy, but I never had to say anything - [Name Removed] picked up on all of these bits and pieces I saw as the home was constructed and next time I saw the place, it was fixed, without ever having to actually raise it. This gave me incredible confidence. Pre handover inspection again was a postive experience. I cant emphasise enough, you WILL see things that needed fixing or correcting when you build a house. But for me, these things were addressed and corrected courteously and promptly even if I did feel a bit foolish over some of the things I was asking questions about! [Name Removed] was very understanding and patient!
And now, as I write this review, we've come to the end - the house is finished! So in 10 months and 3 weeks from the date I walked into the Metricon display, I now walk into my beautiful new home. I'm really satisfied with the quality and finish on the completed product.
For me the choice between a builder is going to be the people that you deal with and I cant think of a better bunch of people to do this with than the ones that I dealt with at Metricon to make this happen.

[Name Removed] reassured us that our concerns would be escalated and addressed promptly, as these issues should have been resolved before handover and not pushed into the 90-day service and warranty period. Unfortunately, as of 23/12/25, nothing has been actioned.
The handover experience was terrible. There was no final inspection and once the final payment was made, after we had already given a positive review, the site manager seemed to no longer care. Overall, this has been a very disappointing end to what was otherwise an acceptable construction process. We now regret choosing to build with Metricon again due to ongoing issues. We never had these concerns when we built our first house with them.
