PRE-CONSTRUCTION

POSITIVES -Sales – Cheryl S. If it wasn’t for her, we would have never started this journey. Thank you very much for asking the right questions and getting us moving in the right direction. -Sales – Chris V. Very helpful with choosing designs, reading contracts, and picking structural upgrades. -MyChoice Studio – Mariah C. She has a tough job, helping us newbies pick absolutely everything for our 5-bedroom house in ONE day! Thanks for not making the day stressful and for helping us choose things that really make our house stand out.

NEGATIVES -Because we were beginners, you just don’t know what can be done or improved in terms of layout changes. -Just because you paid for an upgrade, don’t expect it to always look as good as the display home. -We had 2–3 visits to MyChoice Studio before our selection day, and we still struggled. Also, what you pick is not always exactly what you get.

MID-CONSTRUCTION

POSITIVES Site Supervisor SS – Mike McQuoid - What a legend! A good SS can change your whole experience and Mike really, really looked after us. We had our fair share of issues (frames, roof, etc.), but he always kept us informed, conducted several site visits, and genuinely cared. If our house looks as good as it does, it’s because this guy did an amazing job. Cannot thank him enough. (Also, Jarred — thanks for helping when things got busy haha.)

NEGATIVES -When you pick things during selections, you don’t always have the full picture of what implicates and how installation is done (e.g. gaps, trims, joints), and sometimes the final result is not exactly what you imagined.

POST-CONSTRUCTION

POSITIVES -Brighton Cares Team - Erin, Kayla and Peter and Wayne - Wow, really impressed here! I honestly thought that after handover, it was done and everything would be on us, but Brighton Care actually works. Kayla came for our 3-month inspection and fixed many things (not picked by our external handover inspection) -Now, dealing with Erin for our 12-month inspection (after the house has moved/settled),she has really helped us deal with external companies and making sure items were not forgotten. A Big thanks as well to Peter and Wayne, who went well above (literally) and beyond to fix walls, paint, and really all the external window frames (45’s!). **I really hope they’re still around to do our final 24-month inspection next year. =)

NEGATIVES -Because some items are handled by external companies, sometimes you have to deal with multiple teams coming through to fix things. -The way we judge whether an item is fixed (ex. how a patch on the wall is painted) is not always the same standard they use.

OVERALL Honestly, we would love to build again with Brighton (maybe the Lotus 38 this time). Brad and Brett, thanks for running a great company and helping first-timers like us achieve great results. We are super happy with both the experience and the final result.

I hope the team gets to see this message and it also helps another first timer to understand the building process.

and friendly). Into the selection stage everyone was absolutely great from Loganholme my choice studio, accommodated our needs with young kids, and helpful throughout which make the life easier. It was an absolute great experience, listened to us and advised us and put everything into work within our budget and needs. Everyone will say that the site manager is a key person while building a house and we are absolutely blessed with our SM, Ben (Benjamin O’Shea). He is a gem to the team. He was updated every stage thoroughly by calls, messages, weekly email updates and any updates with photographs. He was easy approachable and never let us down. From the site start to hand over, it’s only took less that 24 weeks, not to mention this included the Christmas/New Year’s holiday. We are so happy that we chose Brighton homes with minor defects in each stage and fixed those issues straight away. Ben did found those things even before the private inspector spotted them. Update after electrical.

We had a wonderful experience with Jack from Brighton Homes during our electrical selections appointment. Jack came extremely well prepared prior to meeting with us and had clearly taken the time to understand our style and preferences. He was ready with thoughtful recommendations that really helped optimise our selections and made the whole process feel much easier and more exciting.

Jack was friendly, professional, and an excellent listener throughout the appointment. His knowledge of the products and the overall process gave us a lot of confidence in our decisions. We absolutely loved meeting him and genuinely enjoyed this part of our journey with Brighton Homes thanks to his guidance and care.

Handover of completed house late August 2025. Late yesterday (Sunday) we found some moisture in the carpet against the wall in our front downstairs guest room. A quick call to after hours number and within a couple of minutes I was talking to a Brighton rep. He called me back shortly after the initial call advising someone would be at the house… Read more ·  1

10am next morning. 10am (Monday) two men, Lee and Wilbur attended our home. Spent about an hour examining the outside, climbing through the roof, listening through the walls, not only ruling out a few things but also reenforcing our confidence in the rest of the house. They suspected a likely leak to a pipe, and left promising a plumber as soon as possible. Within a hour I had a call from the plumber and he attended our home where he promptly located and fixed the leak. Thanks Lee and Wilbur for your professionalism on site. Thanks Brighton for fixing this problem within 24hrs of notification. This is our first Brighton contact after handover, and although disappointed with the leak, you have to be happy about Brightons approach and interaction with us. Still a little to do with this job in terms of patching, cleaning and replacing to make new the room, but every confidence that will go without a hitch.

Summary: We had an awesome build with Brighton. I was waiting for the entire process to be complete to write my review. Sales: Simon was really great during the initial consultation at the display home. He was very helpful, great communication and made the process easy for us. (Cosmo 24) was perfect for our family with very minor changes to window sizes. We also had fixed site costs which were reasonably priced. Brighton is one of the few volume builders who have standard floor plans that include two basins in the master bed (which we wanted). Most builders have master bathrooms with a single sink, tiny shower and small benchtops which cost more to upgrade.

Admin: The admin process took a bit long as the colours studio gets very busy. However, once we did the selections process it was great. Jane took time to explain the included options and the included selections were great. We did not have to do too many upgrades and our first home is stunning.

Build: Our site supervisor Joshua was excellent. He kept us informed and sent photos almost every week with an email summary of what was coming in the following week. We really appreciate his excellent project management skills as cyclone Alfred caused some delays. However, Josh was able to get everything back on track quickly. Our site was cut at the end of Jan 25 and handover was in July 25. A very quick build (4 bed single storey house) and the quality of our home is amazing.

Aftercare: The after care team have been lovely. The admin team (Maddy) communicates well and Bailey has done a good job repairing the very minor defects that we had. A few outdoor walls needed some paint touch ups and silicone in the kitchen needed redoing as the wrong colour was used. These are the main defects that we had and they are very minor things. We are so happy with our first home, the build process was great and we would build with Brighton homes again.

We have built with another builder before and had a rough journey however Brighton and especially our supervisor Scott went above and beyond for our experience and truly made it so enjoyable. He always kept us up to date throughout the process and the quality of our home is a 10/10. And finally… Ben! Our Site Supervisor and the absolute icing on the cake. Ben exceeded every expectation we had. As we were living out of state during the build, his regular updates, photos, and clear communication meant the world to us. He kept us informed weekly, outlined what had been completed, and set clear expectations for the next stages. His attention to detail, reliability, and problem-solving skills were unmatched.
