Canberra is the nearest supplier 2hrs away . My local supplier will replace a battery under warranty no questions asked . Disappointing and a bit dodgy I think .
The technician didn't inform me that they will be charging me extra if I used AfterPay, and they charged me $24 more than the price. I use AfterPay everywhere and the deal with AfterPay is that you are not charged any surchage for using it. limited mechanical knowledge, I was told this indicated a failing alternator. As a result, I was charged a $99 call-out fee and did not receive a battery replacement under BoTG’s 3-year warranty guarantee, unless I could prove the charging issue was not caused by the alternator.
I then visited a local mechanic (at an additional $99), who scanned the vehicle and confirmed it was a battery fault, not an alternator issue. He provided photographic evidence and a written certificate supporting this. He also advised that alternators can adequately charge batteries at 13V+ under load and that alternator failure is very rare in vehicles with a mileage below 200,000km. My car has approximately 150,000km.
Confident it was a battery issue, I contacted BoTG and supplied the mechanic’s certification in hopes of having the battery replaced under warranty. A BoTG technician returned, retested the charging system and claimed the charging was insufficient and worse than before. On this basis, they rejected both the mechanic’s certification and my warranty claim.
Concerned by these conflicting results, I sought a third opinion from a completely independent mechanic. He tested the charging system (with and without load) and confirmed it was operating normally. He also noted the BoTG battery was visibly bulging on the side and required immediate replacement, not the alternator. As my warranty claim had been denied, I was forced to purchase a new battery myself for approximately $200.
I have since contacted BoTG through their website requesting clarification on the exact minimum charging voltage required (under load) for a warranty claim to be accepted. I want a quantifiable answer in writing. Nearly a week has passed with no response.
If I do not receive a reply within the next week, I will be contacting Fair Trading to seek compensation for call-out fees, the battery installation warranty to be respected, mechanic costs (for certifications and testing) and personal expenses supported by the evidence I have collected.
I am also sharing this publicly in other platforms so that future customers are aware of this experience...

I’ve had non stop issues since receiving this battery 1.5 years ago. If I leave a light on in my car it drains very quickly and can’t be jumpstarted. I can only charge the battery which takes 24 hours.

My battery died and I checked all the main suppliers. Batteries on the Go were the fastest and cheapest and had the best reviews, so I gave them a go. They arrived within 30 minutes of my online booking and replaced my battery and fixed the warning light in 10 minutes, even in the rain.
