AEG L98690FL Questions & Answers
VerifiedHello our washing machine is getting so far into a wash, does a few cycles with letting water in and out and then halfway into its wash it stops and says to check tap. I have checked the tap to make sure its clear and the pressure is fine. I have taken the inlet hose of the washing machine and then run water through the inlet hose and it comes out the other end fine. I have taken the drain pipe of the drain pipe under our sink to make sure that is coming out fine and that works. What else could this be. I think it must be something inside the machine failing to work. Suggestions anyone?
Hi,
AEG MODEL - L98690FL WASHING MACHINE
Any tips on why the softener isn’t dispensing out of the softener reservoir during the wash cycle? Thanks
It’s a weird system. There’s a tube and it sucks the softener down that tube, which is higher than the base of the dispenser, so there is water left in the dispenser at the end of the cycle. Or so a technician told me when I asked the same question
At the end of the cycle the softener is still in the softener reservoir. The reservoir should be free from any liquid if working with normal operation of the cycle. That’s what use to happen. Now the softener is still in the reservoir.
I just bought a Lavamat 9000series. It has a steam program is it possible to steam my new linnen pants and top? It says pre shrunk and machine washable on 1point?

Ive got 9 kg washer. It looks like it rinses with hot water, as my clothes very hot at the end of a cycle. Is this ok, how can i make it rinse with colder water?
This washer only has a single water connection point intended to be connected to cold water. It heats the water itself. If the rinse is hot, I would check that it hasn’t been connected to your hot water by mistake.

I have just bought this washer. It is extremely noisy when it goes into spin. Could there be an issue with a brand new washer or is it normal? I am not happy about the noise level.
If it sounds like a jet plane taking off it’s normal. The motor has a turbine whine to it. If you change the spin speed that will make it significantly quieter but it’s normal to have that sound during the spin.
Thanks what speed would you recommend?
Hi have just purchased the 9kg aeg front loader, and have found the towels have come out quit stiff, I washed them at 50 degrees on eco wash 4 105 min and 1400 spin...Any advive would be appreciated..
What is the highest temperature the machine reaches?
Hi Tash. Thank you for your question. The highest temperature the washing machine reaches is 95 degrees (on the cotton cycle).
60 degrees

what setting do you wash towels and sheets in a AEG 8000 10KG LAVAMAT washing machine?
Can someone who has this machine tell me your thoughts on the steam cycle .. so you don’t need to apparently dry clean your clothes .. how affective is this , can I have examples please ? Advert for machine shows a guy put his suit jacket into the machine to “ refresh”.. how many have done this and are happy with the results. Thank you . Suzette
I have just brought a AEG front loader washer L98690FL can you please telll what programme to wash towel on as I don’t have time to wait 2hr for a load to wash?
If the load is under 3KG you can use the 20minute cycle. Please be aware that Cottons 40-60C is the best cycle for towels as it gives the best stain removal and best spin (drying) result whilst also being very energy efficient - it's the intermittent "soaking" that makes the cycle 2.5hours long but it's also what makes it so energy & water efficient whilst delivering a great wash result. For cold washes (under 40C or for short cycles) only use liquid detergents as high water efficiency machines will not use enough water to dissolve washing powder.
We have bought an AEG washer/dryer from Winnings. Clothes seem to wrinkle on normal Cotton wash with temp.of 60 degrees and spin 1200
Normal load of cottons between 5-7 kg. Machine takes 2 hours and 30 min to complete the washing. Please advise how to minimise wrinkle and reduce the time of washing?

Hi, I just purchased the brand new AEG front loader earlier this week. It washes really great for colours.
My question is what cycle do you use for towels as I used okowash and the towels came out all scratchy instead of fluffy like my top loader. Any advice on this?
Hi I would suggest to reduce your spin speed.
Thanks Dan, I experimented already and it is much better when the speed cycle is reduced to 800rpm.
Looking for a front load washing machine 10 kg upwards. Must take hot water from my hot water tank and can hear it up further. A workhorse in our house!! Will be used all day nearly every day. I Mustove all stains n take king size super cotton blankets. Looking at LG. AEG n others. What make n model can u suggest? There seems to be lots of positives and negatives on all brands regardless of price! Thanks
Hi, I'm pretty sure there isn't an AEG front loader that comes in 10kg or above. Mine is a 9kg and fits quite a lot in. When loading it weighs the washing to calculate water. I believe it heats up the water and isn't connected to the hot water tap at all. This may not be a machine that fits your criteria. Depending on the weight of your blankets the AEG can handle large loads extremely well. sorry I can't really recommend anything that meets your needs probably best to go into Good Guys or the like and get some suggestions. Good luck
AEG do a 10kg front loader - I looked at it today but opted for the 9kg which seemed to have all the same bells and whistles.
I just purchased the brand new AEG model 1612A. A 10 kg front loader just released in Aug 2017. I hope it does everything well. It has a 5 star rating and is quiet. Spins up to 1600 speed. Seems to be good on electric and water usage. Fingers crossed. The AEG customer service was very good to talk to.
Hi< Has anyone noticed a plastic smell coming from there machine mine is a AEG L89409FL.Thanks

Hi BEKZ92,
We only ever use powder. When we do the towels we also add softener. Results are very good.

Maz
Does this use hot water from the hose (gas heated) to minimise heating using electricity? I do around 6 loads a week on hot water cycle. Also is your warranty inclusive of both parts and labour and any freight charges? (I'm in the market for a new washer. My existing whirlpool of 15years requires water top up as it is so 'water efficient' that it does not take in enough water to saturate the load. The only advantage is i could top up using buckets of hot water. Also the dial control allows me to interrupt rinse with another wash. In all it allows me to speed up a wash to 15mins (min) on a 5kg wash)

What is the decibal level of the new 9kg washer/dryer?
Kate
I am able to give the noise level of each of these items. The washing machine is almost noiseless, and as I have the companion dryer, very low noise. While from a dryer I would expect some noise, it is an undertone sound. My condenser dryer is positioned
in my sewing room downstairs, on a concrete floor. A friend has the combination washer/dryer, will ask her about the noise level.
