I bought this machine in 2016 when I moved into a new house. We have large dogs that shed fur all the time. Their stuff goes through the wash. Our stuff goes in the same machine. We use the drum clean function. In almost 10 years the machine… Read more
has not skipped a beat. Multiple loads a week, it has moved countries and houses, and still just runs beautifully. One of the best buys ever!
Follow-up · Lint filter has been no issue - cleaned about twice a year I use the fast cycle, gentle cycle and heavy duty cycles most No issues with dog fur - and we have LARGE GSDs who shed constantly
Our washer stopped working, so had to replace it. We didn't have long to look around, but this one was recommended by a friend. It's been great, we haven't had any issues and everything is coming out clean like it should. The wife's happy! So I'm happy too!!
Have had the machine for 7 years and has stopped working. F & P technician said it sounded like the mother board had failed. Advised that cost to replace it - I would be better off buying a new machine as I would more than likely have further issues. I would have thought that a washing machine would last longer than 7 years. would not buy F & P again.

Disappointed with Customer Support and Product Longevity I purchased this washing machine about a year ago for around $700, expecting it to last at least a few years without issues. However, it has recently started making loud, abnormal noises during the wash cycle. I reached out to customer service hoping for some assistance, only to be told… Read more
that a call-out fee of $349 would apply – nearly half the original purchase price, and more than the machine is even worth now (around $300).
This has left me incredibly frustrated as a customer. For a relatively new appliance to have problems so soon, and for the brand to charge such a steep fee just to assess it, doesn’t reflect well on the product quality or after-sales service. There was no offer of goodwill, no effort to troubleshoot remotely – just a high service fee that makes it hard to justify a repair.
From a customer experience standpoint, this feels like poor value and poor support. I expected more from a brand that markets itself as reliable.
If you’re considering buying this product, I would recommend thinking twice and perhaps looking at other brands that stand behind their products better and offer more reasonable support options.
Durable & Fit for Purpose – We are using this for 1 and a half year. It’ is durable, water and energy efficient. A lot of options for washing your clothes. The capacity is enough to wash your clothes and spinning process will help dry your clothes. Highly recommended and very good value for money. Show details
Do not buy this machine! – I am completely over this machine. It leaves grey spots all over the whites that are really hard to remove. According to F & P it has to be put on a self clean cycle regularly. This is ridiculous. Apart from wasting power and water to do this and I can't tell when it needs to be 'cleaned' until suddenly it leaves spots all over the whites again. It is ruining all my white clothes. We use a liquid detergent and have cut the amount right down.
I'm done. No more – Ok, so we bought this machine about 3 years ago. And I've persisted for that long as F&P used to be great. However, unless you wash clothes at a minimum of 60 degrees C, the clothes end up smelling musty. And yes, we've cleaned it, cleaned the (useless) drain, wipe the whole thing clean and dry after EVERY wash and have used many different washing… Read more
powders and liquid. Makes no difference. But the thing that's broken me is that it is so sensitive to being out of balance. For a wash of regular clothes it's fine (apart from smelling musty). But put anything larger than a single doona cover (not the doona, just the cover) and it will sit on 8 minutes remaining for over an hour. Slowly turning this way and that, driving you completely insane. Finally I crack and start hand wringing the sheets out. That often doesn't work and I have to halve the load. It means that a load of bedding should take just under and hour, but usually takes at least two with many openings, repositioning, hand wringing and multiple loads of rinsing. One queen bed doona cover shouldn't need all that. I'm done with F&P (as their cooktop and oven we bought were crap too, but that's another story).
Do Not PURCHASE a Front Loading Washing machine - Fisher & Paykel – Firstly, wished I had read these reviews before purchasing my washing machine. Never have used / purchased a front loader, never again would I purchase one after using my Fisher & Paykel washer... I have had it for 4 months, when my laundry / kitchen flooded due to the rubber (bellow) at the door had torn!! My washing machine door was no longer… Read more
sealed... Put a service call in, they arrived next day - great, but did not have the part to fix it in the van with them!! Now waiting for them to return... They could not find a more flimsy / thin / soft rubber to put at the entrance of the washer if they tried, of course it is going to tear! Check the thickness of the rubber around the entrance of the door before purchasing any Fisher Paykel washer...

Good machine but load times are based on the length of minutes on Mars! – Had the F&P WH9060J3 machine for about a month. Previously had a Samsung front-loader some years ago which was a POS and I swore I'd never have another front loader - the only reason I have the F&P front loader is that it was bought as a gift for me. My clothes are usually only lightly soiled while my partner works in construction and his… Read more
clothes are regularly heavily soiled. I am using quick, cotton, everyday, delicate and heavy load settings to wash our clothes, bedding, towels and other linen, and often setting water temp. to cold (except for my partner's clothes and tea-towels). So far it has performed well with a mix of differently soiled loads using all the load settings I mentioned (I am yet to use the drum clean feature), although on heavy load setting washing a blanket I noticed the stitching on the bias edging has come undone on one corner (but it is an old blanket and the stitching may have frayed anyway).
I have to say all my washing is coming out cleaner than it ever did using my Simpson top loader and I am happy with the wash performance. Also, the spin cycle is so efficient my drying time has been cut in half which is great when using the dryer.
My mum works for a large electrical retailer and advised that a lot of customer complaints about machine noise and balance issues arise from people not taking all the transit bolts out of the machine. I made sure to remove all the transit bolts before installing and my machine is extremely quiet (including the end of cycle notification - as I live in a house and my laundry is outside a louder notification would be great).
The cycle times are extraordinarily long - even when I set a timer on my phone for the length of the load the timer usually finishes approximately 10 minutes before the load finishes. (I have good water pressure and I am using low suds washing liquids but no matter how little washing liquid I use the load times are still longer than the same amount of minutes on planet earth). Maybe the timer was designed for Mars minutes!
Overall I am happy with this washing machine although I wish I could rely on load times displayed on the machine (especially as a cotton wash is 2h 20m).
A great machine – Being a mum of three, I do a daily wash usually a 30 minute quick wash we mainly wear cottons, nothing is ever clean with three young children. My husband works in earthmoving so most of his clothes get dirty at times. Any spills dirt and marks come out and never had any issues with clothes coming back out uncleaned. I do my all my bedding and… Read more
sheets every weekend, I usually do them on the heavy load which takes around 1.5 hours and sometimes prepare it for the night before with the timer to ensure my washing is done by the time I wake up, makes life so much easier and am able to then start my day! I really love this feature, as well as the 30 minute quick wash and heavy function that I use when doing sheets and towels and the timer function, I haven't used the delicates or any other setting really as I haven't needed to. I usually do a drum clean every fortnight to keep the machine smelling fresh, this machine doesn't hold much water/gunk like my last one used to around the rubber seal which seems to be very well made.
Good washer, wish I'd bought a bigger one though – I have had good luck with Fisher Paykel appliances and this continues that good trend. It works fine for washing clothes 2-3 times a week. Amazingly quiet, I have it on some thick foam washing machine feet and I don't even hear it when I'm just one wall away. It's also very stable, you can leave things on top of the washing machine and they don't… Read more
fall off during the cycle. Cleaning it is very easy, it's got a drum clean cycle which takes just under 1 hour, and the pump filter is easy to access at the lower right behind a panel.
This "J" model has a single inlet hose for cold water and an internal water heater, so it can do hot cycles up to 90 degrees. No need for hot water supply.
One complaint: When washing towels and other large heavy items, it's easy for the drum to become unbalanced on the spin cycle. This results in the spin taking an extremely long time (hours) to complete, as the clothes eventually dry and become light enough to spin. I solve this by only washing 2 towels at a time, using the Quick 30 minute program. If you wash 4 big towels at once then you'll be pulling out two wet towels so the other two can spin. This overall problem of unbalanced spin is what leads to the inaccurate 8-12 minute timer that other reviews complain about. So I wish I had bought the heavier 8.5kg washer, I assume that would spin heavier loads easier.

Not gonna lie, I thought this was just a really fancy laundry-themed fridge when it first arrived. I kept opening it and standing there like, “Why is it not cooling my socks??” Eventually someone told me it was a washing machine. I was skeptical at first because I thought clothes just naturally cleaned themselves if you ignored them long enough… Read more
(they do not). Anyway, I put a shirt in. Just one shirt. No detergent. No settings. I think I hit the “tornado” button by accident. It made noises that scared the cat and maybe rearranged the molecules of my T-shirt because it came out smelling like clouds and dreams. I’ve since learned you can put multiple clothes in at once. And detergent is not just optional seasoning. My life is different now. My clothes are clean. I’m clean. My confidence is irrationally high. This machine is my best friend. I’ve named her Sharon. Thank you, mysterious laundry box. You win. Send more please.
I have been using Fisher Park washing machines for over three decades and they last me forever never broke down very efficient with water and energy consumption and they do a great job with your washing whether it’s white or coloured delicates or cottons. I highly recommend this brand particularly the front loader with the stainless steel tub. Show details
I bought this machine due to having 30 minute cycle and as I only have cold water connected, this machine heats up the water so it’s great, I can also change it to cold only to keep my electricity bill down. Cleans really well. Very happy customer Show details

I am absolutely HORRIFIED by the quality of this "washing machine". I bought this with the sole intent of washing my clothes. Just imagine my absolute SHOCK when I opened the washing machine door to find out my clothes were torn to SHREDS. I will NEVER buy from this washing machine brand EVER. AGAIN. Show details
No good! Within a couple of years, the LED lights started to fail. Contacted F&P and after some debate, all they offered was free parts only. After 9 years, water is pouring out of it. Unreliable. Poor service. Pity the brand has declined from what it use to be years ago. Show details
Terrible Build Quality – This is our second F&P front loader which has had failed drum bearings within 3 years of ownership (a year out of warranty). First machine was a 7.5kg so we upgraded to the 12kg model this time, big mistake. Machine has been used in a family of two with normal loads of clothes / towels / sheets. Machine now makes loud clunking during spin cycle… Read more
and machine has always had balance issues. Cost of repair is not feasible. Not only is this poor manufacturing, poor build quality, and poor value for money, it’s not environmentally sustainable as it’s just going to be more landfill. Absolutely regret purchasing Fisher and Paykel again, waste of money and incredibly disappointed. Save yourself inconvenience and money - get another brand.

Efficient and Reliable! – I absolutely love my Fisher & Paykel QuickSmart Front Loader! It’s super easy to use and does an amazing job cleaning clothes. The fast spin cycle leaves them almost dry, cutting down on drying time. Plus, it’s incredibly energy-efficient, which is a huge bonus for my power bills. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable washing machine!
Best washing machine ever – I saved up all of my money for 4 months to get one of these, and I am utterly bewildered with the results. I thought all of my clothes would be clean when they came out after a wash, but to my surprise, they were covered in SLOP!! Just for your knowledge, I haven't had any slop on my clothes prior to loading them into the washing machine. I don't… Read more

Perfect Machine! – We have had this machine for a few years now and we love it. The range of functions is perfect and easy to understand and use. Towels always come out mega clean and fresh. sceptics, growing up on our respective mums whirlpool. I love using the top speed on the spin cycle as it halves the drying time. Heavy cycle is perfect for dirty, muddy items. Great clean for cat hair on blankets too. Drum clean function comes in handy after heavy use. Excellent results on my delicates as well (I always use wash bags for this).
Reliable washing machine – I bought this machine specifically for its quick wash function which is only 30 minutes. Its a great time saver and washes well. Easy to use dial for selecting the program want. I especially like the drum clean function which washes the machine through as super hot cycle. Great value for money and simple to operate. Would definitely buy and fisher and paykel washing machine in the future, this one hasn't let me down yet. Show details
Very Happy With this machine – The washing machine has a lot of features to make your clothes clean and look great. The machine is not harsh on the clothes items provided you separate the clothes and choose the appropriate cycle. It has a 15minute and 30-minute option, and an everyday option which I use a lot for 1 hour, steam refresh for shirts, doona covers not a problem, the… Read more
machine is so quiet on all spin dry cycles and no hopping around the laundry. I have had this machine for nearly 2 years and I'm very pleased, it was a good price.
Total satisfaction – Fisher and PayPal have continued there quality workmanship with this model. I speak with experience having had one for fifteen years now and still working well. The controls are simple to understand and easy to apply. If you are a bit on the lazy side and throw all types of clothes in it will still handle it ok. The machine will do delicates without any damage to clothes. At the end of the wash the clothes are almost dry.
Washing machine Review – This machine handles every thing from dooner covers, blankets, work clothes, along with all wool jumpers, so there really is great versatility with this machine. The spinning cycle is absolutely fantastic and if required can be ran as many times as you like, which is great for blankets. Show details
Great machine! Can’t live without! – This is a great machine! Never had any issues! Washes my clothes really well! Plenty of features and controls easy to use. I use the 30 minute wash cycle and if want something cleaned super well I pick a longer setting. Show details
Not so quick nor smart – Got mine 4 years ago and wouldn’t recommend washing towels or bedsheets unsupervised. It will try to balance the weight by slowly spinning. Instead of stopping and provide an error code after a few tries like my previous F&P top loader does, it just rebalances until you manually stop it! Few times when I set the timer , it was still revaluing… Read more
after a couple of hours! The section for softener fills up with water or sometimes still left with 1/2 the softener after the wash. Would change back to top loader once this one dies.
Disappointing Washing Machine - lasted 5 yrs – we are a family of 3 , machine used 3 times a week started off well for a couple of years, quiet and did the job after 3 years started getting noiser after 5 years , lights missing of display and not switching between wash and spin cycles.. you have to stop and restart spin and rinse cycle manually would expect better than 5 years from a mid range machine too expensive to repair, won't buy F and P again.
