AVOID AT ALL COSTS – Purchased both this front load washing machine and its matching drier on recommendation of Harvey Norman, they were NOT cheap at over $5000. Now as so many others have discovered and is a known problem, AEG washing machines and driers are complete rust buckets, even in mild Victorian climate both the washing machine and drier have gone rusty and… Read more
are totally useless. Harvey Norman couldn't care less and directed to AEG 6 months ago. An AEG repairman came out to inspect both washing machine and drier and agreed they are completely rusty and useless. He said he'll submit his report to AEG recommending they are replaced and that AEG will contact us to arrange this..... SIX MONTHS LATER, STILL NO WORD FROM AEG. AEG HAVE IGNORED ALL OUR CALLS AND EMAILS. We are still washing clothes at laundromat whilst rusty metal useless machines sit idle in our laundry. Never ever ever again will I purchase from either Harvey Norman or AEG. Worst customer service from AEG that you could ever imagine.
Disappointing service – Machine has stopped spinning and after calling the service hotline I'm advised that the wait for an AEG service call is almost a month. This is disappointing for a machine that cost over $2,000.
This is the worst washing machine I have ever owned. It literally shreds my clothes (refer to photo showing an example of a brand new item of clothing just removed from the machine). It is also very temperamental and high maintenance. I have owned much better washing machines that were a fraction of the price of this one. Show details

Dont forget to remove the transit bolts! – We bought the machine and stored it for a month while our laundry was renovated. Then a plumber installed it in a custom made recess. We used it the first time and when we came back it had moved and twisted violently and smashed a hole in our wall. AEG were very helpful and advised that the transit bolts had probably not been removed. These stop… Read more
the springed tub from not moving around during shipping. The machine can still turn with the bolts in but the 'springs and suspension' are locked. Hence the violent vibrations that moved the machine. It seems to work ok, now the bolts have been removed. The removal of the bolts is mentioned in the manual, but our plumber obviously didn't read that. I think it would be a good idea if AEG also put a large warning sticker on the door to alert owners that it must not be operated before the bolts have been removed.
IT'S OK – I am not sure if I have any favourite features after nearly one year of owning this machine it keeps leaking water and a lot of water so much so that my laundry cupboards have been damaged. So I contacted AEG for one last time and pretty much asked for a new washing machine as this one had been a lemon from day one. And much to my surprise they… Read more · 1
did exactly that. I was told that a service person would be out to look at my old washing machine and thought they would try and say it was working perfect not go ahead with a new one but no they delivered a brand new washing machine. So good on you AEG for doing the right thing by a customer I am very impressed finally. But I will wait and see if this washing machine stands up to the test of one load per day without water pouring out of it. Also would like to see if the drying component of this washing machine works as the last one I could not use as it was also faulty. As for it being quiet I will wait and see as they all are at first. It seems to clean clothes reasonably good and does not seem to wear out clothes any faster than any other machine. I do not have any favourite features yet.
Very impressed – Love this washing machine First front loader I have owned and have not been dissapointed. Easy maintenance and very easy to use. Washes well and it has some great features. The economical cycle does take a long time to complete Can easily handle washing requirements for a family of four Show details

Will never buy AEG again – Never washed well, clunky, numerous problems and within 5 years started rusting under the soap dispenser. Completely rusted through in one spot. First time I’ve had a washing machine fail so badly so quickly. Don’t buy aeg. This was well over 2 thousand dollars, not a cheap machine, but lasted half as long as the cheap washing machines will Show details
Forever contacting AEG to fix the machine – Purchased this front loader machine along with matching Dryer (T97689IH) to match. Between the 2 machines, we have had motherboards replaced and now as far as the Front Loader goes 5 warranty-related repairs. AEG agreed to replace. No stock in Tassie, so then asked for a refund. Was agreed. Still waiting for our cheque to arrive. Now 6+ weeks and… Read more
counting. Harvey Norman was great, AEG HOPELESS. We now regret buying our ovens and dishwasher too that are yet to be installed.

Should last a bit longer than it did! – Washer worked really well for 5 years! Warranty is for 5 years. Straight after warranty, main board needs replacement. Now 12 months later, the touch screen doesn't respond any more. Repairs will cost over $700, and maybe the gremlins remain. Sad such an expensive machine has such a limited life. Show details

Oh well, if you don't use the washing powder smell doesn't go away!! now, this is issues of every 2nd week. we spent $3200 for the package and now I regret buying it. Show details

Terrible washing results – I bought this machine over a year ago and have contacted AEG on 2 occasions about the performance issues of the machine. It has ruined countless items of clothing and all of our towels, everything dries as stiff as a board & we have tried every piece of advice and multiple different settings. I am at the point of buying a new machine from a… Read more

Extremely disappointed – I bought a 9kg Protex washer and dryer set which I was very excited about until delivery took place. The washer was reeked of defective rubber seal smell which caused a nauseating stench. When i called up Customer Service (CS), they organised for the rubber seal to be replaced a few days later. However - the technician turned up 2 days later… Read more
than the scheduled date and i had to make several phone calls to CS to organise for his visit. The stench was less after the change of the seal but it was obvious that the smell was already cemented into the machine and was not going to go away with a simple changeover of seal.
So i called up CS and they offered to replace with a new machine as well as dryer. I have been in constant contact with the CS team since via email and phone talking to multiple agents everyday and yet the problem isn't resolved after more than weeks. Every 2 days they would tell me the replacement would be coming but I've yet to see it. Their customer service is indifferent. They do not careless if the customer's problem is resolved and offer no apologies for undelivered promises or a faulty product.
I paid $2400 to be put in an extremely inconvenient situation where I can wash clothes but need to accept they will be reeked with nauseating stench and letting a disgusting smell into my house.
I paid $800 for my last Fisher and Paykel washing machine and had it for 15 years and it never gave me a moment of grief. AEG is meant to be German designed and made in Italy but the quality just doesn't live up. I can't express how disappointed I am with their product and customer services alike. I am put off from this brand completely after this experience.

Super Quiet and cleans great – Cleans clothes really well, very gentle and not much lint left behind. Easy to order, we purchased ours at Winnings Taren Point, service was great. No problems with delivery, they even connect it for you. We found it very quiet over our old top loader. Only draw back is that front loaders take longer to wash. You just need to be organised and plan… Read more
when you want to wash. Very happy with the machine. Called AEG a few times and their after sales service is really good.
Perfect! – Perfect Washing machine. We bought this with a dryer as a combo. This would be used on average about 10 times a week over the last year since we purchased it. Machine is very quite, and washes clothes perfectly even on time saver modes. Highly recommend this washing machine, been worth paying a little extra over a Samsung/LG machine. Show details
Brilliant – We were very sceptical to purchase this as LG had all the bells and whistles and this one looked like plain Jane. Well it has quite the punch and looks can deceive. It does a wash in a reasonable time and the results are amazing. The install and after service is brilliant. Look at specs not the bells and whistles. We got the 10Kg load Show details
First front loader couldn’t have made a better choice. Sooo happy!!! – So much to choose from but all cycles do their job well lovely and quiet hardly know it is there no tangled clothes love all the different cycles for my whites, delicates, my husbands work clothes and even my woolly jumpers simple to use touch pads. Love the super eco cycle use it most of the time. Show details
Happy costumer – Wash beautiful.Very quiet, save water and washing powder. Cloth come out like new. Do not wear your cloths out Very happy with it. Do my laundry is a pleasure now :) My first AEG washing mashine i purchased in Vienna , ladted 13 years. Hope this new ine just as good quality than the otiginsl german made one.? Show details
great machine – Cleans clothes very well, there are a variety of settings to use, including a time saver option. If you drop a sock on the way to doing the washing this machine lets you stop the cycle, throw your sock in, and continue! The clothes are not being worn out. I did turn off the end of cycle beeping as it went for what I think is a bit too long. 5… Read more
beeps should be enough, but I had that option so it's fine! I like the delay start and the various temp options. The machine is quiet. I've had no problems whatsoever and the sales team at HN were very knowledgeable of their product.
Easiest machine I've ever used – There are so many settings it allows me to wash absolutely everything. My clothes are left clean and quality is not compromised. I love the refresh setting and the ability to adjust the spin speed. Service is excellent. I thought I had an issue (my error) and contacted AEG, they sent someone out the same day. He was extremely helpful and provided some great advice that has further improved my washing. Show details
Fantastic Wash – We use our washer at least once a day with all the kids washing. Great hard working machine and the finish of the wash is brilliant. It holds a great capacity and is very easy to use and operate. We also purchase the matching heat pump dryer as a pair and that produces great results also. Show details
Just Buy It! – If you are hesitant between AEG and those $700 Samsung machines, don't wate your money on Samsung. I had some bed sheets that no mashine could clean the their dirt and I was gonna buy new ones, I just washed them once with this AEG and they look like brand new sheets. - cleans perfectly - very quiet - lots of programs - doesn't wear-out your cloths Show details

Best choice! – After using a top loader for years, I found it difficult to change to a front loader. I'm glad I did! This machine is just fantastic. User friendly even tho there is many programs to chose from - I love the 3kg/20min for a quick load. Very quiet. The clothes don't come out all twisted and crinkled, some items I used to iron now I can easily go… Read more
without ironing. Washes really well and I can see it rinses much better than the top loader with very little water. It only connects to the cold water and it heats it up itself. It is not too low so you don't have to bend too much when taking the washing out and the door fully opens so it makes even easier to load/unload. It isn't bulky, I found i have more space now in the laundry then I had with the other one. Unlike other brands this one comes with 5years warranty so you don't have to pay extra for it and is delivered and installed for free.
Verry happy with my purchase. I would highly recommend it.
My upgraded AEG washing machine, brilliant – The AEG front loader washing machine is almost a friend for life. I purchased my new model 5 weeks ago, so many new programmes for every possible fibre. On most settings the spin speed can be altered plus the advantage of the extra rinse… Read more
option. My previous AEG lasted for twenty two and a half years maintenance free. After this amount of time the choice was easy, no hesitation to keep with this brand. I would recommend this washing machine, brilliant!
Love the features – I brought this machine after reading good reviews and on recommendation from Harvey Norman. Im impressed with the features it offers, my only complaint is my towels are so dry and rough, i have to place them in my clothes dryer for 15 min to fluff up again! Overall happy with purchase Show details
Clean wash – Very clean washing, so easy to use but we needed to learn how to load it correctly, not just bug it all in. Tells you weight of cloths you have in drum and max what is recommended but it will wash a overload, but would only do its recommended load it is ample size for any wash we have done, 6 Towels, 4 Sheets and normal weekly wash. Its our first front loader in more than 30 years since leaving the U.K. and love it its so quiet Show details
Love it – After having a useless top loader, the extra money spent on this machine was worth it. Some of the functions run a bit long, but on an average the 20 minte wash is good enough for 2 oldies. I have run the blanket wash and have been happy with this function as well. Quiet and efficient. Worth the extra. Show details
The washer is great, but the dryer – A handsome machine that runs quietly and washes efficiently on the wash only functions which take over an hour. I always have do an extra drain spin to ensure the clothes adequately dry. It is another 15 minutes, as you can only lower but not increase spin speed on the preset functions. The pre set programmes for the wash-dry function take an… Read more
eternity and for me, at least, didn't dry the load to a satisfactory level.
So I avoid these presets and the drying function, until such time as can I rationalise the time to dry that actually drys a normal load of clothes.
A wonderful new washing experience. AEG 10KG – I recently purchased an AEG 10kg front loader washing machine from Harvey Normans in Port Macquarie. Having previously owned top load washing machines I was pleasantly surprised at how quiet this machine was.. A very big plus is that it is very gentle ..washes extremely well and there is no sign of lint left on the clothes. To add to this it is simple to use and there are plenty of programs to select from. So far I am one happy lady. J.B.
Better than I expected! – I had never used a front load washer before and was a little dubious. But it cleans better than expected! Old stains that I haven't been able to move are now coming out! The pre stain option is very helpful. AEG customer service has been excellent. Tips: Leave the door open after use and give the seal a quick wipe. Don't use too much detergent, it seems to need less than a top loader.
Great washing machine – Great, quiet, does a good job cleaning clothes and it seems kind on clothes. Washes don't take too long for a front loader. It does a great job on moderately greasy clothes, I was very impressed. Only bad point is we had a single fault covered by warranty, AEG were ok about it, but the company they use as service agents in Newcastle were a bunch of clowns. I would still buy another AEG and have no hesitations recommending it.
So far, so good – We purchased this washer as well as the matching condenser dryer. There are a lot of options in front loaders and we decided on these over the ASKO, Miele or Siemens based on reputation and warranty. AEG provide 5 years and are made in Italy. We're still learning how to use it, and some of the functions aren't necessary for us, but what we have… Read more · 2
used so far has worked perfectly. Only minor negative is that the rubber seal around the opening needs to be wiped out after every use.
Fantastic machine, great warranty! Always buy through Harvey Norman – Looked at the 10kg Aeg, 9kg Aeg, 8kg Miele, 10kg LG and 10kg Electrolux. When we went to place an order for the 10kg Aeg, it was on back order for 4 months (completely sold out) Went for the 9kg AEG, and never looked back. It washes as well if not better than my parents $4,500 Mielle front end loader. Warranty wise purchase through through… Read more
Harvey Norman. If you do not get the outcome you are looking for from AEG customer service, Harvey Norman will ring the Country and respective state management on your behalf. AEG are reliant on HN as one of their go to market partners, so they need to be responsive to HN proprietors
Found AEG customer service teams easy to deal with and responsive (for a white goods company)
Service.....What service?? – I have owned this machine for 18 months, never having owned a front loader before, the amazing cleaning power certainly lived up to the hype. AEG was promoted as European excellence but they had me at 'easy to use'. First things first, I read the manual cover to cover. I received the manual in appalling condition. It obviously was soaked before I… Read more
got it stone dry with several pages stuck together. I call customer service to ask for another copy and they oblige but I didn't get it. (Nice start Electrolux!) The trouble really began after many months when the machine began to smell and my "clean" washing also had a sweaty sock aroma after use. What was going on? Made worse when using 1400 spin. After seeing contents from pockets end up in the seal, I look in horror to find a mould festival ! Well that explains the smell!! So the manual does suggest leaving the door open after each wash day, which i did religiously, plus check for debris. But this was not enough to stop the mould growing right around the seal, and I have my machine placed right next to an Opened external door. Cue Electrolux customer service.... who didn't believe me when I told her that I did all the right things. The manual was vague with its care instructions and I felt that it could possibly be design fault. Who wants to wipe down the seals each washing day ? BugR that! She did give me a quote to replace the seal. $135 call out fee plus $70 for the new rubber seal! BTW you are not allowed to use anything other than soapy water to remove the mould. Good luck !
Decent machine, horrible company – AEG demanded we send our washing machine into their authorized repairer to fix a clip-on detergent drawer fascia. They told us we couldn't do it ourselves, we needed a technician - For a plastic clip on fascia. So we send it off... 2 and a half weeks without it, and it returns with NOTHING having been done. They told us the entire control panel… Read more
had to be replaced. The repairers did. not. do. anything. It still has no fascia on the drawer and the control panel certainly wasn't replaced as it had discernible marks on the side that would obviously not be there anymore had it been replaced as they told us it would be.
So as we live rurally, we had no access to a laundromat. AEG did not even offer us a replacement washing machine for the interim, did not offer vouchers or any compensation. We have 3 small children so I have been painstakingly hand washing our usual two loads per day in a 9kg washing machine, every day. Aside from the physical strain and emotional distress I've endured, I still do not have a repaired washing machine. This is absolutely the most abhorrent way to deal with customers, especially on a machine that cost us $2500.
Will never purchase from this company again, their horrendous customer service - And the fact they still have not helped us at all, aside from costing us 2 1/2 weeks without a washing machine for nothing. Just... Horrible. The washing machine itself is only 14 months old.
