right amount of walking to make it fun, not a chore, and the food was of good quality and quantity. They also met our dietary requirements easily - no beef, pork or alcohol for at least one of us. And customer service before the day itself was very good: I had made an error with the date of the booking, but it was quickly and politely corrected for me.
I would definitely recommend a Mystery Picnic to any couple and would like to do another one in a different area myself.

exactly what we needed to switch off and enjoy a proper off-grid weekend.
The lodge itself had everything we needed, and the whole experience felt relaxing from the moment we arrived. Waking up to the quiet and the views was a real highlight.

terms and conditions, which is when I realized you can't actually get your money back. They also prefer to do everything over the phone—especially payments—using high-pressure techniques, and then they only email you the full details after the fact.
Due to health reasons and their high-pressure methods, I wanted a full refund but was denied. I would not recommend going with Global Work and Travel. If you do, make sure you read the very complex terms and conditions on their website thoroughly first. Even then, after this experience, I’d prefer to do it on my own.

own flights or we will give you a credit that is valid for two years but we won’t take any bookings until after September. So that is now only valid for 18 months.
They are anything but proactive. Had been hassling them for 6 weeks and they only let us know under two weeks from our departure. Simply not enough time to find alternatives.

invoice that clearly, boldly stated that payment of balance not required until June 2026. In January, the story changed. We were now required to pay a further deposit of $12000 immediately to secure our trip and, by the way, our flight costs had increased by a total of $4800 despite initial assurances that the quote definitely covered our requested flights. We cancelled in January (9 months ahead of planned trip) and were informed that a $1000 penalty would apply, and that the balance of our deposit would take up to 12 weeks to refund. This despite assurances from the actual cruise line, the airlines and the accommodation venue that any cancellation that far ahead would not, from them at least, require a penalty. We regard ecruising's approach to be classic bait-and-switch misleading advertising and have lodged a submission with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission accordingly.

I rang a Brisbane no. for shuttle to hire car depot. They sorted that for me. Car was larger than I usually drive but didn't take long to get used to it. Hotels were all good. Visited lagoon, aquarium, Tombs of the Pharaohs exhibition night market etc ln Cairns. Lots of walking. Lovely meal at Ochre. Drive to Yungaburra was lovely even with rain. Visited waterfalls, Herberton twice. Train ride and billy tea. Lots of walking etc. Lovely Drive to Pt Douglas. Beach walk, bus trip to Kuranda for the day. Lovely meal at Salsa and Grill. Again Lots of walking. Up to the tablelands Again and long drive to Cooktown. Started getting wet and windy due to being on the edge of a cyclone. River cruise was cancelled. Enjoyed steak night at the hotel. Needed more time to explore the town and surrounds. Back to Cairns. Wet and windy. Only hotel we paid for parking. Returned the car, to airport and home. We felt we needed more time in the Mareeba area to explore. Spent a lot of time driving. Road works from Pt Douglas to Cairns and Kuranda to Cairns. The Kuranda trip would have been easier from Cairns. Would have liked to spend more time around Mareeba area. Another day in Cooktown to explore more would be nice. That's my review. Hope it helps. house.... Not really a 'gesture of goodwill'. The place is crawling with cockroaches and littered with cockroach poo all through the kitchen and bathroom. There were dirty underpants outside, the gate was off its hinges and the door couldn't be accessed as it the screen for the code was so scratched. I paid more for what looked like a 'nicer' place than others in the area. Its not. Go for something cheaper.
This is the response from Professional Holiday Homes after I had raised concerns during my stay. I will never book with them again.

more expensive interconnecting rooms, no rooms. Once the mistake is made and it is re-sold, it is gone. Bad start to our holiday. Terrible! Very disappointed.
Original review:"Not happy. 1 week to go and we are all stressed before travel. I went in months ago specifically to book interconnecting rooms on Disney for my 5yo and 7yo. All booked, rooms assigned, and paid for. Another person wanted to join us, so I said ask him to ask agent if that is possible.
Now, no interconnecting rooms and nothing. 1 week to go. Not happy!!!"
