Partly our fault, partly the hotels fault, but being abroad meant we couldn't log into the flybuys travel website from overseas on our phones to make any changes. The desk clerk kept telling us they could not make changes to third party bookings. The reason we used flybuys travel for the hotels was to collect the points however after coming home and seeing the points balance being dollar for dollar despite having spent over $2500 on accommodation overseas I am abit disappointed. The rooms are similar prices through other agencies such as Booking.com. I believe Flybuys needs to make the points scheme more attractive if you are using them to book hotels.

However, the caveat with booking accommodation through flybuys travel is that your stay with some international franchise e.g. Hilton may not count towards your number of stays to maintain or pursue the next tier with the hotel's membership program. On the contrary, airlines are generally generous and count your flights booked through flybuys travel to your status credits and miles. Most of the time you get good rates through flybuys travel. However, sometimes, flybuys travel may be more expensive compared to other platforms e.g. direct booking through the hotel, Booking.com, Expedia etc.

on time and tended to avoid providing a full detailed information upon my phone enquiry, stating that Expedia is the platform through which the accommodations are booked and referred me to look at their website. This created a somewhat fragmented experience and made it more challenging to obtain a complete picture and required me to seek information from other sources. However, she was helpful in providing information from what I have already been able to source from the Flybuys Travel rewards site.

A downfall is that the selection range of accommodation is very limited. There are many locations which do not have accommodation offered through Flybuy points redemption.

Most of the accomodation offered through Flybuys travel are also very lowly rated.

Flybuys uses Expedia and in between them, there is always a considerable markup on the accomodation cost and therefore points required to redeem for the accommodation. It would always be cheaper to book with the accommodation direct.

A point to also note is that though full accomodation costs have been paid beforehand, accomodation still obtains a credit card directly from the guest instead of dealing with Flybuys.

Always an effortless process dealing with flybuys travel. For my last booking, needed to contact them to arrange a wheelchair for my husband, which was also an effortless process. Highly recommend. Show details

Had a few complications with organising air flights - but once I stated this - they took care of the whole interconnecting flights, with plenty of choices. What was almost complicated became a breeze, all we had to do was choose the flights we wanted. Thank you so much it made our trip so much easier on our old bodies. The trip we chose with flybuys travel represented great value for money and we got the dates we wanted. A bonus was that we could redeem flybuy dollars towards the trip AND earn flybuy dollars. A no-brainer dealing with Flybuys Travel. a fellow passenger’s father who had fought and died in Korean War. Another was acupuncture for passenger who had a medical issue. During the actual booking process in Australia,the lack of communications,between the various”Depts” was frustrating, to the extent we wondered if we had lost our initial $4k deposited.Most of our fellows passengers on our trip commented of these inadequacies also! ( We could go on and on with all the issues- being very well seasoned travellers all over the world for last 22 yrs). I had to make further phone contact to get those points back. The staff were very helpful but something in the process fell down which was disappointing. The cruise was great and the flybys travel service was great. The only downfall was due to the cruise changing from P&O to Carnival. The online Check-in link must have been lost as our Booking Reference did not automatically link to the carnival service. There was no advice in any of our correspondence with Flybuys Travel that indicated that we needed to use the Carnival website outside if the Flybuys Travel website. Show details

Booked airline travel (JetStar) from Hamilton Island to Sydney. All aspects of the online booking/payment was simple and the subsequent advice for check-in from JetStar the same. I used FlyBuy points to upgrade seating. The flight was delayed due to weather, but that was beyond anyone's control.

Great value for money. Fast paced trip. Coach trip and some of the hotels good 3*, others could be better. Some of the included dinners not great although lunch on the Seine in Paris was a highlight.
