hardwood floor but not as good as sleeping on a thick carpeted floor. I'm a side-sleeper who usually sleeps on a cloud-like soft-medium mattress (Madison Waldorf). Side-sleeping with a pillow between your lower legs is the best sleep position, according to doctors and studies, for your digestion, breathing and spinal alignment. This koala Sofa Bed has basically zero give for your shoulders and hips so I'm just sore this whole trip, as I can only sleep on my side. This would actually be a great bed for someone who likes a firm/hard mattress but I feel like most people in the west don't so this should have a big warning about how firm/hard it is. My wife tried it one night also and absolutely hated it too, commenting on how much it hurt her body sleeping on it. I definitely wouldn't buy it or recommend it to anyone unless they like a firm/hard mattress.

feel of the upgraded fabric so I'd say yes it's worth the extra money to upgrade. As per other reviews, yes there is a bit of slope forward but not to the point where you're going to slide off the sofa. I've found I can even remove the back pillow and just sit right back against the backrest and it's still comfortable and it removes the feeling of the slope all together as you have extra room to sit deeper. As a bed, it's very easy to set up and super comfortable with no springs or uncomfortable metal struts like the good ol' days. I do find the mattress topper gets pretty warm in summer though, so I generally opt not to use it. It's not an everyday couch for the whole family - even Koala will tell you that - but if you're looking for a versatile piece of furniture that ticks more than one box, then I'd recommend it.

The delivery of the sofa bed was smooth. I selected the assembly service as well and the delivery people did such a fast and thorough job. It was hassle free. I like the comfort of the sofa. It's soft and the seats are wide. The pillows, however, are a little too soft and limp. They seem like they could fold on themselves after being used for a while.

well designed and very practical. It folds out smoothly and looks really nice in the room. It is a firmer style mattress though — I’m a side sleeper and found it a bit too firm for overnight use, so not sure. But as a sofa, it’s great quality.

out to them to see what was going on. When the sofa bed arrived, the underbed storage would not go down properly and caused the part to damage. Customer service were again helpful and arranged a replacement part to be delivered to us. We recently had an accident with my baby which caused the mattress to soil. The spill went right through to the mattress, which is not at all protected if you have any kind of spillage. It’s also not at all washable and so I had to throw out the sofa mattress. I reached out to customer service asking if we could pay for a replacement part (just the mattress part of the sofa bed), they declined and said they don’t offer this (note: the sofa is a current model and their website says they do not offer replacement parts on older models. No mention of current models which one would assume means they can offer current model spare parts). I now have to throw the whole sofa bed out when it is only a couple of months old. Will not be buying koala again. In addition to this we found the sofa bed to be flimsy - the arm rests are not very sturdy and the sofa mattress kept falling forward when we sat on it. There is a velcro strip at the back of the mattress and after only a few months of use the velcro was catching on the actual mattress and causing damage to it. There are better products out there.

Not worth 5 stars – Talk about incentivised 5 star reviews.. It looks nice but is uncomfortable as a couch, has a really bad forward lean l no matter how you try manipulate the matress. Couch itself is good. took years before finally getting one because I was worried I wouldn’t like it, but it is actually quite good. Bit expensive but it’s comfy and I love the colour and feel of the cover. I was worried about it sliding forward a lot like of people have said of the older generations but this one doesn’t do it too much. Very comfortable to lie down on. The extra depth makes it hard to get up out of it as a sofa, especially for older people, we have added a few cushions to help. The best ottoman!!! It has storage, and turn the top of it upside down and you’ve got a wooden table for your drinks!! Also thank you to Koala customer service, we received the wrong colour cove for our ottoman and a new one was sent out very quickly! Thank you!
