VerifiedWhyb does my airfryer makexa very loud buzzing noise about 90db, all the time, when switched on. Is it safe to use
Underneath the on switch and timer control which can be removed there is a flat watch type battery. This needs changing and your buzzing noise will stop Nev.

@Bikerdels uk I wonder why Tefal didn't just say this instead of telling the driven-mad-by-high-pitched-whine Tefal owner to prat about contacting customer service? I levered the display off, found the little white cap covering the button batter and removed it completely. The timer doesn't turn it off after the time is up and I have a timer on my phone to use because the one on the actifry isn't loud enough so I don't need the display. I'm so glad I googled before I threw it in the bin to get it out of the house. The whine was driving me insane.

are you using in in Australia? Probably that's why. Even the water in your sink goes down the plughole the wrong way.
It seems the first production was excellent, with some buyers still using theirs after 8 years, but then after a few years it was an entire different story, maybe built in a different country? Can anyone check where it was made between 2010 and say 2015, versus after that? It would be interesting to see. I wanted this model because the rotating paddle is great but now I'm not sure I will buy it because of the reviews!
I had three in all each one only surviving until just after the warranty ran out. Vowed I would never buy another Tefal one I do have another brand but as far as the cooking goes is not as good. I will put up with it but still will not buy something that just outlives its warranty.
So do you know where it was made, is it written on your invoice if you don't have the fryer anymore? The difference seems so clear cut that I would really like to know if it is in the provenance. I doubt they would have change the model for worse. Would be great if you could tell. Thanks!!!! :)

My actifry paddle is turning the wrong way, can I alter this?
Mine has started to jerk when it’s turning.it will start then stop so on. Do anyone know why this is happening?
Hi my tefal actifry FZ710840 is not heating up anyone know how to change element on it?
What item can I use to cover the hole if I don’t want to use the paddle. For cooking bacon or desserts that don’t need stirring and would just become mushy? Is there like a plug accessory to put on the middle- similar to the paddle but without the paddle attached? Thank you
You could try using the wire basket in place of the paddle this goes around also Tefal will sell these .
My actifry 2 in 1 doesn’t work. All lights on display ok and no error message. After pressing start it makes the usual noise but then stops before it turns the paddle. I have ordered a replacement motor but the issue is the same after replacing. Can anyone help please?
I’ve had my actifry for almost 5 years and I just moved it from one place and it’s started making this loud noise and it’s not even plugged in. And it’s not a peeping sound either. How do I turn it off?
Ours just started doing the same thing. Did you ever figure out how to stop it or did it stop on its own?
Ours is doing the same. Hasn't been plugged in for over a year.... and now making a loud noise! I'd love to hear if anybody solved the mystery!

Just use a dinner knife to pry off the display top, start near the lid. Once removed there is a white round plastic battery cover, give it a 1/4 turn and remove the battery. It requires an AG13 (357) button battery 1.5v. Reverse the process to refit. Note once the battery is removed the noise goes straight away. No noise with a fresh battery. It’s just a timer. Hope this helps.
Can you cook pies in the actifry original by taking paddle out?
I heated a pie up by putting in the wire tray and placed a ready cooked pie on it,it came out lovely and crusty like the oven, unlike a mushy one out of microwave
Why do I get bits all over the work top while cooking my chips they fly out through the gap all around the lid and base?
Is it common over time to have a space develop when you close the unit and it clicks shut ? It is not the hinge attached to the base unit but where the detachable section meets the back ..two inches on each side no longer come level to the base . Have others encountered this issue? I have been placing a bean crock on the top of the fryer to lower the top bringing the top and bottom together.
It does the same for me. I do not think of putting a heavy block on top of the lid helps. It is better to check whether hot air escape from the opening. If it does then it is better to replace with a new one!
My actifry is only staying on fir a couple of seconds then going off again can anyone help please thanks
Mine did that too. They told me to turn it off for a while then turn it back on. Didn't help much. Probably the beginning of the end.
The fryer may be shorting out as heats up. It uses a lot of power to air fry.
My TFal is making a high pitched ringing sound (like a smoke detector would) but it’s not even plugged in.... I got no idea what’s wrong with it lol. Any ideas?
You might be suffering from Tinnitus? Have your audiologist check you’re hearing.
Same with mine starting today, absolutely bazaar! Did you ever find out what the issue was
Look at my post, change the button battery under the display cover, it just un-clips, pry it off using a dinner knife.
