Not the greatest – First air fryer that we ever bought and we thought it was great, until we tried a different one. Pros - does crisp food up and has two layers to allow a meal to be cooked. Thermomix so this is the perfect companion. The thermie is awesome, but the ability to fry things goes missing.

November 16th 2018 Update: Crispy, crunchy potatoes - everything else a bit soggy

Wonderful purchase - got a demo unit from Harvey Norman's earlier this year for $180 and it has done multiple cooks.

Mainly used for fried veg such as roasted potatoes - the potatoes generally do quite well, but other veg can come out slightly soggier, particularly if left in the unit after cooking.

But such is the trade off for healthier eating. Overall, food is still tasty and MUCH healthier than the other ways of cooking veg in an oven.

The one thing I'd add is that I bought the frying basket that sits atop of the pan and while this is great for parbaked, frozen foods, the basket is not good for foods that you've freshly battered.

None the less, a great gadget but it does have limitations.

downside, the machine never gave us any problems at all and we found it relatively easy to clean. Not a fan of the size of it, but don't know what can be done about that. We had to move interstate and so I chose to give the machine to my daughter, taking the opportunity to try and limit the amount of chips we ate. Well after 1 month my husband insisted on buying another as he missed his chips. I relented, but purchased a cheaper type machine online. Regretted it as the chips were never done well and after two weeks we stopped using it. Now that machine sits and gathers dust while my daughter interstate is still happily using the Tefal. And now we have a deep fryer!!

This works ok for me – This machine cant do it all but it does chips well. It uses 1520 watts of energy that heats up quick in a small area rather than you do the same in a 3000 watt electric oven. to do this on average makes it fast and easy to use. As a quick healthy snack maker, it does its job. I would not expect it can do all things well, the agitator is fairly robust and crumbed items will likely rub off. I do not use it for that purpose. If you target the appliance for chips/wedges/fries (using a chipping tool on potatoes) , it is really good. And you can dispense with the rubbish processed foods for your guests or kids on the weekends. Only thing is that it is noisy. Portatbility means you can cook outside and not heat up the house in summer. Here is a tip. If you rub your chipped pototoes in salt and some oil and let it sit in a bowl for 15 mins it will release moisture making it even more crispy. Yes chips can get soggy, just adjust cooking times and get them out fast to prevent sweating once cooked. You really have to make your own rules up on this thing.

This one is great – I cooked my fish and chips in the air fryer. It is so easy and wonderful. The food taste good but they don't take me much time. We are happy to have it. Show details

from KFC and the fish and Chips shop in it and they don't go soggy like they would in a microwave and is much quicker than the oven.

I have no qualms with my kids using it as it's safe, no oil spills or hot ovens and it's so easy to use. Cleaning is a breeze, especially as the removable parts can go in the dishwasher. This appliance gets used at least 6 days a week in some form. It's the best thing I've ever bought. No more deep frying in this house.

Rather disappointed – I’m rather disappointed because when I'm cooking a chicken or lamb chops it doesn't have a lift basket/pan when I lift the entire pan out to shake the chips or place the food onto a plate the lamb chops residue fat or the oil drains on to the bench. Great until it falls apart – Home made chips and roast Vegas are great. Because of the arm that rotates food, softer food can fall apart, even pumpkin as it cooks. The lid mechanism snapped, but with care I could still close it. A bit flimsy for the price. Show details

it should last longer than just over a year. For the record we always handwashed as well. We ended up just getting rid of it and purchasing a different brand.

Stylish and functional – Was hesitant at first and thought that it would be another gadget purchased and never used? Life is easier with tefal actifry – I’m very satisfied with the tefal air fryer, I use the guid and the recipes book that comes with it and all worked really well for me, it taste btetter and it’s healthier. Best way to cook without oil – So good at cooking french fries without all the oil but are still nice and crispy. Also good for roasting pumpkin which normally takes a while in the oven. I absolutely love this product – This is the best appliance that I have bought. It creates exceptionally crisp fries without the addition of all the extra oil. I have used regular potatoes and sweet potatoes in this air fryer. It cooks evenly and only takes 30 minutes to cook the chips. Great machine – I love my airfryer!!!! Itd quick and easy to use. It stirs the food while cooking to ensure an even cook. Very little to no oil is required making my meals nice and healthy. the blade (stirring paddle) on ours due to not locking it in correctly but found it easy enough to get a replacement part. There are additional recipes on the Tefal website and Facebook groups dedicated to sharing air fryer recipes so it is easy to find more ways to use this appliance.
