new compressor, sent them a photo of the compressor model number and we never heard back from them. We actually love the frige as it is very spacious and bright inside but we are extremely disappointed that after only 5 years the compressor be on its way out. It’s a very expensive fridge for not being reliable for at least 10- 15 years.

Perfect choice – I purchased this fridge in the beginning of 2015 and for and can't believe after all this years the price is still the same im really happy with it holds lots of things and after all this years had no problem with it. Show details

Love it – We replaced our french door with this fridge. Freezer space is good, can get lots in there. Fridge is good also, lots of space for everything. We've had it for around a year now and have had no issues. Quiet, and reliable. Love the fridge being on the bottom, good for the kids to access fruit and drinks etc.  Show details ·  1

Got it for almost a week and the fridge light not functioning! – Got it not long ago. Was using sharp fridge all time and thinking should be alright. But surprisingly the light of my fridge is not functioning after 4 days! Very disappointed. Currently is waiting for appliances online support team to revert. Besides that, Its good size for small family. Have no issue with temperature and design. In fact, the glass finishing makes my kitchen looks wider.  Show details

Worst possible choice good for looks only – Just over three years old. Freezing in freezer section. Ive had both seals replaced plus defrost Thermistor and fan motor. No better actually worse. It's a total lemon. Worst money I have ever spent. Under extended warranty repairs but still not fixed. Over three months now and extended warranty repairs haven't been able to fix it. etc.You can't adjust them.Here starts the problem.My fridge glass shelving is now home to several bottles of mayo,salad dressing,tomato sauce etc, laying on their sides taking up space.Unless you want to adjust your food storage needs to suit your fridge ie store less cold tall soft drink bottles,then look at another model fridge.It's super annoying & inconvenient.I've had this fridge for about 3 months now.You don't notice this until you have used it for a while.Aside from that it is near silent,OK to clean.

Could have been better – Great refrigerator, always receive compliments for its looks. If not for Weird sound every now and then would given it 5 stars. The Handle Chrome does seem to be of inferior quality and there is no light/activity sensor to give it rest during quite hours. It’s really a great fridge, nice appearance, big volume, quiet...Will recommend to my friends.

Horrible Experience with constant loud noises – I bought this model SJ-XP580G from The Harvey Norman in March 2017. It has been making continous loud noises during the day and night and disturbs our sleep. I thought it would be one off but this fridge hasnt stopped making loud banging noises. Great fridge – I love the look of this fridge and there's so much space. The first night I had it home it was making a loud noise which went on for about 12 hours through the night but hasn't done it since. food seems to go off quicker. I then contacted sharp, I was told the noise is normal when the compressor kicks in. I went back to Harvey Norman to ask, I was told by the sales person that they have stopped selling it cos of many problems and complaints by customers.

Stylish fridge that is spacious – Having great luck out of previous Sharp products. I chose This to replace a twin door famous Korean brand. This stylish black glass front is easily the most beautiful finish I've seen on an appliance. On par with what you see with mobile phones. Roomy fridge area – This fridge has good fridge space . What I don’t like about it is the freezer part came with no area to separate food apart from a shelf. Apart from this I am happy with it. Nice looking and spacious top mount fridge – We bought the silver one from Masters 18 months ago (they were the only one who carried the silver model at the time, while TGG carried the black model. presumably coolant running which had since settled over time (took a few months though). It's working well so far. Digital control is good. I have a temperature gauge to monitor temperature inside the fridge and the temp setting had been spot on. The built-in Sharp Plasmacluster ion air purifing function really helped to control odour (when compared to our previous F&P fridge) which I think it's nice to have. The top two shelves can slide out for easy access but you cannot adjust their height level. The third shelf is adjustable but there are only two slots to choose. The front glass door panel is quite unique for its class and it is easy to clean too. I would recommend checking out this fridge if you are in the market for a top mount fridge of this size.

Love Love Love – Purchased this about 4 years ago and still runs perfect. Can't hear a thing and temp is always perfect even though there is a small hole made from a gaterade bottle. The door shelves can collect crumbs and dirt/dust but again unclick and come up clean easily.

Cleaning the outside:

Windex on the glass = spotless even with kids. The handle and design on the side come up clean with a spong and soap and a microfiber clothes gets in any grooves to dry them.

The best part of this fridge is that I can write on the glass with a whiteboard marker and wipe it straight off. Great for reminders!.

The glass exterior has two disadvantages: it chips easily - only had one small mark so far; and you cannot stick fridge magnets on it!

We also find that the doors do not close very firmly. I expected them to shut with magnet-like force but they don't.

Amazing!!!! – Amazing fridge til now, bought at the end of last year. Really nice colour- very unique. And functions really well. Plenty of space, always fits a lot food. really appropriate temperatures, not too cold and not too warm. Makes ice fast. very happy that I did! The fridge looks gorgeous... sleek yet large with black mirror glass. I have a 3 year old & a 6 year old so yes it does show finger marks but it's easy to clean. (If the kids can stick to using the handle then its not really an issue anyway). In terms of performance the temperatures are perfect, it's easy to use with some extra features like fast freeze, a quick cooling compartment for drinks & a function that helps neutralise odours. I've had the fridge for 11 days and can honestly say it's VERY quiet & I have heard no clunks. I think it's normal for there to be one 'clunk' noise a day during a defrost process but I haven't noticed anything... maybe I'm out when that happens or asleep?! I'm really pleased that I decided to buy it.

A constantly clunking inverter makes it very annoying – The Sharp 581Ltr black, glass, top mount fridge looks lovely, has great internal lighting in the fridge and freezer compartments, is super fast at freezing and chilling items, has a super quiet motor HOWEVER ..... as the product has an inverter mechanism it makes a loud clunk noise every time the inverter moves. supposed to make a loud clunk, once a day, during the defrost cycle, however it makes these clunks at least once every hour and at times it does it every 5 - 10 minutes for about 30 minutes or more. This can be extremely annoying and is very disturbing during the night when you are trying to get a peaceful nights sleep, especially when your bedroom is in close proximity to the kitchen. But then it is also disturbing when you are trying to relax in the lounge.

I have had this fridge for 2 months now thus I've given it a fair chance and plenty of time to wear in, hoping that it would eventually settle down to that alleged one click a day, however there has been no change.

This would have to be the most annoying refrigerator I have ever owned or ever come across.

I've contacted Sharp to find out what recourse I have in relation to having this product replaced or refunded. The quality of this product is far from acceptable.
