Best low-cost tablet for taking notes and drawing – I bought this tablet to take some short notes in the pdf file and draw pictures. I have been using the Samsung Tab S6 Lite for 6 months. This tablet comes with an S pen, which doesn't use the battery. The S pen is good enough for drawing and writing and has a light weight. The S Pen can also be attached to the tablet with a magnetic tab. The bad… Read more

thing about the S pen is that the nib is quite easily broken. If you press it too hard or drop it once, it may be broken.

There are many functions on this tablet, such as short-cut tools by pressing the tablet's S pen button. The disadvantage of this function is when using a drawing application. If you set the S pen button as an undo tool, this short-cut tool will annoy you. In my opinion, this tablet makes it hard for me to do screen capture. You need your S pen to do screen capture and need to crop the picture every time. You can link your phone or laptop to send the link in real time with just one click. One of the best functions is the note function. You can write in Samsung's note application and it can type for you. It's the real-time typing function that makes it very useful. You can do the video editing on this tablet. The screen size, S pen, and fast file transfer will let you edit the video easily. The other applications run smoothly on this tablet too.

The battery life of this tablet is very long compared to other tablets and the iPad. If you use this tablet for only short-notes, you don't need to charge it daily. The camera is quite bad; only use it if you have no choice. The speaker is loud, but the voice isn't that clear.

The screen is a bit faded in color, but it's clear and big. The weight of the tablet is light compared to the screen size. If you want to buy this tablet to only watch series or movies, maybe this tablet is not suitable for you. In conclusion, this tablet is cheap compared to its functions. You will get the S pen in the box. It's good for writing and drawing. If you want to buy this tablet for online learning, it is a very good choice. I suggest that users be aged 6 or above, because the S pen is quite fragile and small. So, if you want a cheap but good tablet for taking notes and drawing, you should buy this tablet.

Note: The tablet case didn't come in the box.

Bought it for University (OneNote) and its been great – I've been avoiding getting a tablet to take notes on, as I have mainly used pen & paper and a with laptop to date and did not really want to change. I'm also not someone who prints off the lecture slides and takes notes that way either so I saw little value in it. I decided I needed to modernise a bit and give it a try. So far I am pretty… Read more

impressed, even though I have spent less than 2 days with it. Had a family member get this tablet so it prompted me to take the plunge. If you're getting it for education and you're eligible, highly reccomend checking out the Samsung Education store.

I can use this tablet to show pdf's while I watch lectures on the laptop, or take notes with it. Its good for handwritten notes and doing equations.

I haven't yet used it for Zoom/video conferencing or any video for that matter so can't comment on it for that. But writing with the pen on it is quite good, easy to switch between landscape and portrait depending on what suits best. Ideally it would be a little larger, as someone who likes writing on A4 pages but it is by no means too small to use and the size makes it easily portable.

To the negatives, in my opinion the facial recognition is garbage. I thought initally it was due to the way I was holding it, so my face wasn't seen by the camera but this is not the case. If the lighting or background changes from the initial calibration even slightly (even if its brighter) the recognition fails. I've registered my face twice (second time as "alternative look") and I still don't have any luck with it. So end up using the pattern. It doesn't bother me too much but thought it was worth mentioning as it matters to some. A relative who has this tablet has the same problem. I also don't have any case on it yet, so that definitely isn't obstructing it.

The WiFi conection is stable, the battery life is great - moderate use has me at 60% after a few hours. If you're watching videos this may differ.

I haven't got a keyboard for it but it does come with Dex, it does not do HDMI out through the USB C port and isn't overly powerful so I can't see myself using it as a laptop replacement. Its snappy and quick for what I need it to do.

Totally unimpressed – I have been totally unable to get this s6 Tab working properly. Bixby will not recognise my voice (even after many attempts) so I must operate totally manually. Device turnoff does not work. It will not Wi FI connect as required. I have turned it on and it is fruitless trying sync to my mail ( which it has uploaded) but these endless failed attempts block several functions. I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS DEVICE. Show details

Just Ok – This tablet meets all my needs, internet browsing, game play, great for everything but multiple times a day it shuts down and restarts, taking a few minutes. Sometimes 3 or 4 times in a row. The store I purchased it from said it would need to send away to Samsung for around 2 weeks so I just put up with it. Very disappointing  Show details

Great Android tablet for home use – I found I was spending more time playing games and browsing the web/shopping on my phone (Google Pixel 3XL), but wanted to play on a larger screen. I already owned an ipad mini 2 but couldn't install my google play apps on this, or my laptop, so decided to replace these two with an Android tablet. I considered the Tab s6 lite against the Yoga… Read more ·  1

Smart Tab and the Samsung won out with it's S-pen and less chunky look (the Yoga has more storage expansion, but who needs that with cloud storage?). Within 30 minutes of opening the Samsung S6 lite box I had set it up, added my Google account and was playing the games I love!

I played around with the S-pen and I have to say, it's my favourite stylus so far. It is the first 'fine point' stylus I've used and it's great, the built in drawing/pen tool options are wonderful too, a fountain pen, various brushes, and pencils that actually draw like proper graphite pencils.

There are a lot of reviews out there that are negative about the S6's gaming abilities which almost put me off, but I realised these are all talking about Fortnite, PUBG and games like that - if you are a 'tap and click' type gamer (tabletop games like Mysterium, Roll For It etc) this tablet is perfect and runs like a dream.
