Six support calls in three days. Over five hours wasted. My iPad Pro 12.9 (5th gen) is getting hot enough near the camera to burn your fingers—this is a safety issue, not a tutorial. The final advice was ‘go to Highpoint.’ I queued, explained the burn risk, and instead of ‘please stop using it; we’ll assess it now,’ I was told to wait 4–5 hours… Read more

or come back later. Asked for a manager—got the same script. It's just appalling to see these people calling their colleagues to act like their managers... No triage, no escalation, no basic duty of care. People like Eva and Ebhar simply must be removed from staff, how come a business can employ this kind of individuals I don't understand. Like there are even no way to rate these hoons. At this day and age you would expect at least average people with average intelligence and sympathy to help with customers. Simply business killing individuals are getting paid for frustrating existing customer base...

I left with a dangerously hot device and zero help. Rude, dismissive service and a complete waste of time. I’ll be seeking a remedy under Australian Consumer Law because ‘acceptable quality’ includes safety. Until this store fixes its triage and customer care, I won’t spend another dollar here—and I wouldn’t recommend anyone else does either.

Great battery life and sound – The first iPad I've owned and very happy with it. The user interface is excellent as is the norm with all Apple products. The pro model is heavier than the air which I was initially worried about potentially being a hassle when carrying around among all my other stuff in my bag, but this has not been the case. The sound quality and battery life… Read more

are standouts for me, as I use my iPad quite a lot for streaming services. iPad also does well with multiple applications open (no glitching/crashing/slow down/etc.). Definitely happy with this product.

A few improvements…… – I have owned the Apple iPad Pro 5th generation for several months and have noticed some improvements compared to earlier models. I love how this iPad has a much better charging socket in it! The older sockets were flimsy and the lightning chargers broke easy. After a while the socket would play up making charging difficult. I have not had that… Read more

problem with this iPad. The socket although it isn’t a universal socket it is similar to a mini USB socket. The cord that came with it has lasted and also seems well made. The larger 12.9 screen is excellent for digital artists, gaming and viewing videos. The sound has also vastly improved being louder and crisper. Most apps work smoothly on it apart from older apps that have not been updated to be suitable for the newer iPad models. I use Procreate a lot on this iPad and it does a excellent job apart from some small glitches that need fixing in the app itself. Good zoom capabilities. Clear vision. As with all Apple products it is over priced and becomes even pricier when buying the needed accessories for it such as pen, keyboard, cover, screen protector, etc… I think for the hefty price the pen at least should come with it as well as a screen protector. Both rear and front cameras seem ok, but of course they lack a bit with night vision. I think the rear camera should come with a free screen protector for the price of this iPad its the very least Apple could do. Battery life seems about average for 2021 products, which is not bad. The only problem I have found with it so far is that the screen can get quite hot to touch right of centre when I am using Procreate and also the back of the iPad gets very hot, even in cool temperatures which is a bit of a worry, but it hasn’t seemed to affect the functionality of it yet and it still works smoothly. I deduct 1 star because of the heating problem with it and if it wasn’t for that I would give it 5 stars.

Best buy ever! – I have used iPads since 2010 and the M1 12.9 is fantastic. The screen is unbelievable and better than any laptop I have owned. The speakers are really good and the processor is fast. Especially for video editing and sound composition. The Apple keyboard and pencil make this device a perfect laptop replacement for my type of work. It has Microsoft… Read more

Office, Adobe, Affinity and a massive range of Music Technology apps. The battery lasts a full day and more. I bought another 12.9 M1 for my son at Uni and he now no longer uses his laptop. This is a brilliant device. Well done Apple.

Getting better and better – This is the fourth IPad I have purchased over the last 12 years. Screen quality and speed excellent. Satisfies all my needs for watching movies, Zoom, books and newspapers. I included an external keyboard for easier note taking and emails. Perfect to store photos downloaded from camera. Small enough to carry in handbag. Would not be without one. Show details

Initially hesitant but completely satisfied – As a consultant a lot of my work day to day is on the web and using Office365 products and other web services. Using a tablet especially an iPad wasn't something I thought I needed to be any more efficient or to make my job easier, but I was wrong. The iPad Pro is fast, it's light enough to be addictive to travel with, the cellular capabilities… Read more

allow me to use it anywhere and the iOS applications and web experiences work really well both natively on the iPad as well as through using an external device, screen and accessories.

I work on a lot of documents, I participate in MS teams calls and video conferences and I often find myself following along with a shared screen from a client when helping them with their problems. Using the iPad to do this is as easy as having and using a laptop, except it also works natively with Messages, Mail, Calendar - the default applications that allow an appropriate sized window to work within.

I love the iPad, it allows me to take it anywhere, I can work inside, outside and I can go to the park, the beach and work from anywhere using it.

The 120hz display makes interaction quick, smooth, simple and addictive. The capacity and performance is just right for my job and any photos or content I take and capture using my phone is instantly synched both through the Photos app as well as back through OneDrive to my business account, great for capturing business cards, taking snapshots of physical documents as well as editing and publishing photos - for professional and for personal use.

I recommend you invest in a good quality case and keyboard/touchpad to compliment it's portability.

I highly recommend this device, it's something I wouldn't work without and whilst it might feel unnecessary alongside a laptop, the ability to pick it up, connect, perform a task and be done is addictive, quick and simple, especially in my busy day to day life.

The best tablet for your home – On Friday 18th February 2022 I purchased an Apple iPad Pro 11-inch 256GB Wi-Fi (Space Grey) [2021] so I could use it in bed. On Tuesday 22nd February 2022 I got a refund of $554.99 from JB Hi-Fi Online since the iPad didn't have a home button when I asked for one with a home button but I forgot to check this before I left the store. Show details

Never had any problems – I usethis tablet for pretty much everything now. Don't even use the laptop much and ditched the old PC. Good support is available when you have issues so I have nothing but positive words to say about this product

My new baby – I had written a review on the 2018 model, it’s pretty much the same as that one, only with some pretty obvious advantages over the old one. Pros - better screen, I can see stuff better on here, looks more 4K even though yes I know it’s not, but everything is just sharper. Better True Tone, noticing it’s not as orange and it seems to be better… Read more ·  3

on the eyes at night.

Better microphone, I did a few ASMR voice memos and they definitely sounded better than before.

16GB usage isn’t here yet, apps max at around 5GB I heard, but this future proofs it. Regardless I am noticing an increase in game loading times and am finally able to play games on ultra without issues.

5G is amazing! consistent 80 to 986Mbps, so since I download everything over cellular, no more worrying about finding the best connection. My usual connection was anywhere from I kid you not 0.3 to 25Mbps. Rarely did I ever find anything over 100.

Feels like it’s built like a tank, I hope that means less of the common problems with the 2018 model which was due to how thin it was.

It has this 3D rainbow effect in the sunlight, which makes it easier to read, I wonder what this effect is though, I can’t find anything about it online. Maybe it’s the coating?

It was said to have fast charging and I can agree that it does charge faster than before.

Cons - camera is still bad, it’s better sure than it was, but it’s nowhere near where I’d hoped for a $3000 device.

Speakers have that same glaring issue, where everything feels more muted than it is. But than they didn’t change the speakers at all, so yeah …

It’s heavier, 51 grams to be exact and is causing me some dead arms/hands issues, you wouldn’t think 51 grams would be that problematic but it is. Holding it like usual in the shop to listen to music isn’t as comfortable as the old one was, I’d put that down to its thicker shell as well.

It still doesn’t play well with some websites like Facebook, where it either refuses outright to fix mistakes or it fixes them like this —> fiundungfounding. Instead of replacing the misspelled word it adds the word next door to the other word and I have to go back and retype it.

It makes up words and changes them to something unreal, it did that before and this also has not changed.

IPadOS isn’t properly tested or they don’t receive reports or don’t care, the update cannot be reverted and can cause numerous issues. My old 2018 is no longer useable with Wifi, whenever I turn Wifi on it freezes our entire internet. Once 15 comes out I’ll be updating it immediately and hoping for the best. I’d like to be able to go back to using that one while I play games with the other. This is a con based on Apple and not the devices fault. But it is worthy of mention, so if anyone reads it be sure to check if there’s problems before updating, always.

Resolution and PPI are still exactly the same was hoping for an update, I mean it is obviously brighter/darker/sharper, but a resolution PPI upgrade would be nice too. My phone is much higher PPI and despite the new screen on this, it still looks brighter and more colourful than my IPad.

Other than all that I’m enjoying it, but I reckon for its price they could have added some more features and a better screen and camera, perhaps a night camera etc. Oh well maybe next time.

I got this one in silver and definitely prefer the lighter colour scheme to the previous dark grey.

It was worth the money for me. But it’s got issues, so value for money will be 3 stars.
