What Aussie Beers (if any) are sold on RC Voyager of the Seas when sailing from & returning to an Australian Port?

On my last trip with Voyager( Feb 2020) they did have VB, Iron Jack, and Tooheys extra dry. Hope this helps!

So far we have found Royal Caribbean totally lacking in customer assistance - they have made major change to our itinerary from Sydney to Hawaii and offering very little by way of compensation.

Hello we are cruising on the Voyager in 2 weeks (South Pacific), and have a couple of queries. 1 - how much us $ do you need to take for the island tours and also is there water fountains available to refill water bottles . Thankyou Vicky

Mist of the islands will accept A $$$. Taking off water needs to be in a sealed bottle. Quarantine laws apply when going off and returning.

What is the difference between a interior cabin and an outside cabin please (if that makes sense)?

Fiona
Fiona

Hi Terry, unfortunately I cannot help you as we were not allowed to board due to our flight being cancelled and we were late arriving at the port. If you have not booked I would book with another company. I have heard a lot of bad things and they were not helpful to us at all. Fiona.

A outside cabin usually has a window, inside are in the centre of the ship

Inside cabin or outside cabin, you’re trapped onboard that high pressure selling machine.

My husband and I are taking our 11 year old grandson on a cruise in January. He doesn't want to go in the kids club during the day. Is it possible for hm to join the activities for his age group at night?

Fiona
Fiona

Hi Francy, unfortunately I cannot answer your question as Royal Caribbean did not allow us to board as we were late due to our flight being canvelled. My advice would have been not to sail with them but hope you have more luck than we did! Fiona.

Yes it is possible for him to join in at night. Also take him to check it out the club during the day time. Our girls at that age had a ball during the day. Ours didn’t go at night time. Country girls tend to hit the sack early & rise early. Hope you enjoy your cruise. We’re are taking our now 17 year old daughter on the New Zealand cruise over Xmas instead of schoolies week.

Hi, I'm just wondering if there is an electric kettle in the balcony cabins to make yourself a cup of tea or coffee on Voyager of the seas so that I can take my favourites with me?

Kat
Kat

I believe kettle is only available in Junior Suite and above. Boiling water and takeaway paper cup available self serve from the patisserie, as part of cruise price, to which you can add your own preferred tea brand. This is what I do to enjoy mine at evening's end.

With the drinks packages, can you purchase one for an individual in your room and not everyone? I don't want to preorder drinks at $21/day for my little kids, they just wont drink enough to warrant the purchase. Am I able to share my drink package with them?

Julie B

Im pretty sure the answer is no. We found it better value to pay as you go and bring some refillable water bottles - chilled filtered water bubblers on Sports deck and in Gym

hi has anyone used an International Load & Go card from the post office as their booking card instead of their original bank card and just topped it up as you go? Or does anyone have any good tips on what to use and how the US$ exchange rate worked best for them? cheers

Ian S
Ian S

RCL work on your bank/credit card to debit alls cost in USD,dont know if they would accept Int load & go - ring RCL call centre to check. or failing this buy USD in Australian and pay the account in cash. at ports you can always use the ATM for local currency.the exchange on the RCL is very poor better in Aus

Royal Carribean do not accept Load and Go Visa from the Post Ofiice, I rang and and asked the company i booked the cruise through as Royal Carribean previously assured me (wrongly) via phone that they do. Royal Carribean website states that credit cards used must have a name embossed on the front ( therefore no load and go)

I will be taking US dollars on board. On board expense account will be a cash one..

My husband can not get into any glass elevators. I have paid a deposit for VOTS and just want to know if there are any elevators without glass.

Bazza
Bazza

There are a number elevators without glass on the ship which are enclosed, the glass elevators are in the centre of the ship leading to the shops, bar and small dance area where the captain meets guests, you will be right in the other elevators and walk through to shops, etc.

Bazza
Bazza

The elevators leading to the Atrium are the only glassed elevators.

Julie B
Julie B

Hi Cristina - what Bazza said. I mostly used the stairs, but did seem to remember some non-glass elevators about the place. This deck plan might help you: external link

Ian S
Ian S

Hi as ours have stated there re only two glass elevator on the Voyager (Disaster) of the Seas which lead to central area, at same location are 6 standard elevation, the elevator at front and rear are standard style.

as per my review of the VOTS, they have greater issue to solve with food handling/general hygiene which I reported during our cruise and followed up later - don't be hold back complain.

I wish you and your family a good cruise which will be trouble free and 100% to your standards.

Ian

I just booked the voyager from Sydney in November. I'm taking my children and dad who has cancer. I've come across some horrific reviews since paying the deposit and am really concerned. Should I cancel and book a different company and if so, who?

DKL
DKL

Don't cancel Tash77 - we've done several cruises with RCI & have more booked. As with everything in life, depends which way you look at it. Some people love to complain & whinge. We've been on Yoyager twice & have no complaints. Every cruise is different. We took an elderly uncle with us on one cruise & we are so pleased he came as he had a great time & has (as expected) since passed.

Rob T
Rob T

Agree with DKL, people find reasons to complain. Been on three RCI cruises and really enjoyed them all. I've travelled with my in laws and young children. We all loved it. Advice is roll with the punches when it comes to waiting for a table, lining up at a bar or the buffet and nothing is perfect. however on the most part these are all small issues to deal with on holidays. Just enjoy your self.
