The Pantum Printers One Annoying Habit! – This is a reasonable printer for home use and build quality seems quite good, toner is lasting well after 12 months of ownership but unfortunately the printer has a habit of removing internal permission to belong to the network and I have to continuously go into the printers internal print server and turn it back on again.... my wife does not know… Read more
how to do this so it can get annoying for her when it drops the connection .....

BUYER BEWARE ESPECIALLY TRUE OFPANTUM MONOLASER PRINTERS – Bought this to replace an ink jet printer, in march 2023for almost $200 for printing, scan and send operations, also to replace a single sheet Scanner,it worked well with infrequent use,the instructions were very brief and I had to depend on you tube videos to fix paper jams and to place the toner cartridge. It is reasonably easy to operate, but it… Read more
does tend to grab 2 sheets of paper at one time then, jamming. It does print as a single sheet printer with thicker cards.(200gsm).Then the unthinkable happened,I got paper jam message on2 May24, even after clearing it.I contacted the seller in Sydney who deemed that they were not responsible as it had worked for12 months past the purchase date, even though I had used it infrequently,I also found that the parent company in china ,was unable to help as it was on leave from 1 may '24 to 5 may 24 and they had a contact email which didnot include Australia,so I was left to keep playing you tube video made without any spoken english, or closed captions in English ,made by someone in ?Phillipines, made with a lot of distractions(children howling), I then discovered use of touch pad, and was able to clear the 'paper jam' message. It now works well no thanks to Pantum or importers/agents.I would look for a model with plenty of clear instructions in English and possible you tube videos in english that are more explicit. Lesson learnt ;Cost should not be the only consideration, after sales service AND clarity of instructions is also a consideration,it is worth asking about this, at the time of purchase.
Prints okay BUT – This Pantum M6500mw printer is good value and prints well enough but it can be quite difficult to keep set up on a network and even then it drops the "connection" a lot as I spent hours trying to get it to stay setup on my home network but after much frustration and many google searches finally found that I had to go into the printer itself and… Read more
manually set up the network .... though this helps it still drops the internal settings and hence the connection so I have to revisit the printers config via the browser to reset it more often than I should ............ all that said, the toner is reasonably priced, the printer works well and is cost effective and I think well made.
17/12/2023 EDIT:But I also find that it drops the wifi connection and it is not just a simple case of rebooting this badboy oh no! ..... usually I have to go into the Pantum Print server via the browser and re select a button via the printers program..... you can try the directions below to see if this works for you...... you could also use this when setting up your printer initally"
If you find your Pantum printer not joining the WIFI network:
search for the Pantum Printer hotspot and join it by its (usual) password: 12345678 open your browser and go to 192.168.223.1 Login to printserver using : admin and pw: 000000 goto settings > wireless settings > wireless network ENSURE that the "basic status of" is turned "ON"
SELECT your home network giving its relevant details to join select apply at the bottom of the page and the printer should then join and away you go..... hope this helps your frustration LOL.
Absolutely fabulous – My first printer was a dot matrix back in the early 90's. Since then, the printer industry has morphed into something monstrous. Cheap crappy printers, with exorbitantly priced ink/ toners, or expensive goliaths, leased with tax plans the accountants love. Then, after years of Canon, HP, Lexmark, Brother, Epson etc., I came across this. I… Read more
wondered, what do they do in China? Surely the public would not put up with the shenanigans of these OEM printer manufacturers overseas.....and they don't. I quick search for the Pantum laser printer brand, revealed thousands of happy users...4.8/5 stars, and over 16k reviews. Toner Station on eBay was my resultant retailer. 4 days later (Including a weekend), the printer was at my door. Installation was a breeze with Win 10 handling everything automatically. A quick check of the toner cartridge, and paper and away I went. The prints were clean and crisp, and far quicker and quieter than any inkjet. The scanner worked perfectly also, with high detail apparent from a colored magazine cover.....I'm impressed. For just under $200 delivered, includes a full-sized toner, good for 1600 pages ... I couldn't ask for more. A couple of months later, and everything is working as it should. I connected to the home WiFi network, and ditched the USB cable. Scan, copy and print as normal.....even from my old Huawei Y7 phone! Happy as a pig in sh.....!
