Great shaver. Had for 1 year now. Clean shave. Picked it up for $80. Comes with dock and charger. this replaced my $400 shaver which broke. It doesn't have quite the quality feel of a $400 shaver but its fine (it doesn't need too!! either at $80). All in all very happy and will only buy this model from now on. Show reply
Good so far – The shaver is light, noticeably quiet in operation, and results in a reasonably close and even shave. The shaver can only be used under battery power, and the rechargeable battery is stated by Panasonic as offering 7 shaves of an average 3 minutes per shave before requiring recharging. I find the separate "carrying holder" (a bulky, plastic… Read more · 1
docking station for recharging the shaver) is a nuisance to locate in the bathroom, and the large red indicator light on the front is too large, too bright and quite confusing. It merely glows while ever the carrying holder is powered from the mains power, and the shaver is docked. It provides no indication of the battery charge, and there is no charge indicator on the shaver itself. It seems as if the light on the charging station provides no useful purpose that I can find. The user manual also seems less than practical - the manual's advice to determine the battery condition as requiring a recharge "when the shaver appears to lose speed" - I find leaves a lot to be desired. Overall, the ES-SL41 appears to perform well, and time will tell if it continues too perform well.
better than a cut throat – Got my shaver at christmas time, gave it a real good work out and it out does my braun3 which I thought was a great shaver. Never looked at panasonic until now and wont look back. Also it is a great shaver in the shower any other that I know would short out as soon as it came in contact with water.
Good not great – Solid performing reasonably priced shaver. Easy to clean. Does get most areas. Not the closest shave in the world but better than 90% of shavers out there. Does pick up tricky whiskers around the neck - but not quick rapid enough to avoid the occasional little razor rash around the Adam's apple if you press too hard. The best shavers don't do this.
