The overall sentiment for Lyka Pet Food is overwhelmingly positive, with users frequently describing the product as a "game changer" for canine health. Many owners of "fussy eaters" report that their dogs now enthusiastically finish every meal. Beyond palatability, there is significant feedback regarding resolved digestive issues, improved skin conditions, and increased energy levels in senior dogs. While the premium price point and subscription model are noted as hurdles for some, the consensus is that the visible health benefits and delivery convenience justify the investment.
Pros
- Significant Health Improvements: Recurrent reports of resolved skin allergies, reduced itching, shinier coats, and better weight management across various breeds.
- Digestive Wellness: Numerous users highlight a transition to firmer, less frequent, and significantly less odorous stools, as well as reduced flatulence and gas.
- High Palatability for Fussy Eaters: Dogs that previously refused kibble or home-cooked meals are consistently reported to "lick the bowl clean" and show excitement at mealtimes.
- Operational Convenience: The tailored portioning, reliable home delivery, and the flexibility to skip or pause orders via the online portal are highly valued by busy owners.
Cons
- Premium Pricing: The cost is a significant recurring theme, with several users noting it is expensive for large dogs or multi-pet households, leading some to use it only as a "topper".
- Delivery and Temperature Issues: A small number of reports mention packages being left in the sun or arriving partially defrosted, with some dissatisfaction regarding the company's response to these incidents.
- Texture Preferences: While most dogs enjoy the food, some owners noted their pets dislike the "mushy" or "paste-like" texture of certain proteins (specifically Turkey and Lamb) compared to the "chunky" varieties.
- Aggressive Sales Tactics: A segment of potential customers reported feeling harassed by frequent and persistent sales calls after initially enquiring or signing up for information.
Verdict
Lyka Pet Food is highly recommended for dog owners seeking to resolve chronic issues such as skin allergies, sensitive stomachs, or extreme fussiness through a high-quality, fresh diet. While the high cost and subscription-only model may not suit every budget, the observable improvements in vitality and digestion make it a leading choice for those prioritising nutritional performance over price.
Since using Lyka our dogs stools are a lot firmer also a lot less flatulence and gaseous smells. They seem overall healthier with a bit more vitality. One of our dogs took a bit longer to adjust to their new diet, but she was always fussier and the slow eater out of the two. But is now consuming every last bit of her meal now especially since we… Read more
we reduced her selection from the recommended 300g to the 250g. So far all extremely good will keep you posted if any change.
Best thing I ever did for my Dachshund!! She is the fussiest eater and absolutely loves this food! It has fixed her gut issues and she is running around like a puppy again. FANTASTIC! Show details
They love it. The meal pouches make feeding a breeze. My fussy mini foxie x Maltese gives it a big paws up. We get a mix of beef, kangaroo, chicken and lamb. They love them all. Great quality Show details

Ruby had a very bad rash from the grass and now it has gone and Ruby loved the meals so I will be continuing to use lyka
We have two Shikokus, a breed that is infamous for refusing to eat the same kibble or wet food for more than a couple of days at a time, no matter how much they seem to like it. We had tried everything (to the point where I bought or cooked better quality meals for the dogs than for the humans in the house) but nothing really worked, so we decided… Read more
to give Lyka a go with low expectations. Honestly, Lyka's perceived high cost had me looking for any excuse to cancel our subscription. We weren't ready for Lyka's marketing claims to actually be 100% accurate for our dogs. Our two have yet to turn their noses up at any of their Lyka meals, so it's been a massive time-saver and stress relief for me. We use Lyka as a topper for premium kibble that the dogs otherwise rarely eat on its own; just a sprinkle of Lyka has the dogs eating all their kibble. The dogs' body condition has improved so much over three months, with fantastic muscle development and appropriate fat distribution. Their coats are markedly thicker, softer and more resilient. Their energy levels have improved; in particular, our boy's endurance has improved heaps. Our reproductive vet advised us to avoid food that is high in phytoestrogen ingredients, so we were glad to see that Lyka's meals include linseed oil rather than linseed itself (and don't include cheaper fillers such as soybean), so our dogs gain the joint and coat benefits without impacting our girl's reproductive health. We're still surprised to have become solid Lyka converts. We appreciate the convenient home delivery, and the lower-ecological-impact packaging helps reduce the ecological impact of our dogs. Packaging is perfectly-sized for easy freezer storage. In terms of spending we're coming out even compared to our previous spending on any and every dog food options available (only to throw food out when the dogs refused to repeatedly accept the food). Considering the benefits we've observed in our dogs' wellbeing (and considering my time and stress savings), feeding our dogs Lyka as a topper has been great value. The only negative has been the fact that our girl has learned to 'ring' her empty bowl with her paw to demand more Lyka. We can happily live with that one drawback.
Amazing quality, super fresh, and my dogs love it. Both of their energy, coat, and digestion have all improved since switching to Lyka. Worth every cent! Show details
Millie is 14 years old and had no trouble transitioning to Lyka, she loved all the different varieties of Lyka and I was very happy with the product Show details
Both my yorkies absolutely love their Lyka. No transition required. One of them is very fussy usually but has taken to this new diet very easily as you can see from the video Show details
Tikka loves her meals so much, I mix them with her grain free no preservative dry food and she devours it with ease. Plus her mind fields are easy to clean up now. Show details
We started Oska on Lyka food approximately 8 months ago. He was a 17 yo schnauzer/ dashhound. He was slowing down dramatically 18 months ago but now with his fresh food meals he seems to have had a new lease of life. He turned 18 on the 15 July and so many people on his walks comment how well he looks. We are still enjoying our pooch and some… Read more
days he amazes us with a spring in his step or a jump which I’m sure he would not be doing without Lyka. Oska loves Lyka ❤️

Our GSD used to have variable bowel movements and quite itchy skin. Since starting LYKA, bowel movements are far more consistent and itchy skin has definitely lessened but not completely gone. I would definitely recommend giving their meal plans a try for your pooch! Show details
I thought the Lula hype was overdone but as my 12 yr old dog slowed down I thought I would give it a try. After two weeks people started commenting about his renewed vitality. He has lost weight and enjoying life. Once he was given leftover steak and eat the Lula first. Their advertising about dog poop being more solid is also true. I’m very impressed, but more importantly my dog is healthy and happy. Show details

Odie loves his Lyka. He eats the Chicken, Beef, Turkey and Lamb. No adverse effects, in fact, he sits in the Kitchen and Whines until we give him his Meal Show details · 1
Follow-up · Odie is still loving his LYKA. Every Dinner Meal goes very quickly and he always looks for more. As well as very good for him, Lyka is so convenient for myself and my Husband to give Odie. He loves all the flavors , although we have not tried him on the Kangaroo.
Delivery was undertaken on a very hot day. Boxed dumped in the sun with no knock at the door, only dogs alerted me to delivery. Box was warm, food inside only half frozen the rest defrosted. Tried to explain to Lyka this is not acceptable for a… Read more
delivery. When I went out to pick up the box saw the driver leaving in a small van. Lkya tried to advise these vans are all refrigerated. Advised if the van was refrigerated, it would not be delivering unfrozen food in warm boxes. One of my three dogs now will not eat the food at all and the other two became sick after eating it yesterday. Have thrown the remaining in the bin. Lyka take no responsiblity claiming this cannot happen with unfrozen food been delivered. I read another review where a box of Lyka food was dumped over the fence and left in the hot sun on 3 occassions. Thought I would give this a go to save time. Ive now gone back to cooking my own fresh meals for the dogs. You get advised on all their processes and protocol however they deflect your genuine concerns. The concept is good however it needs to meet health standards even for pets where delivery is concerned. You also dont expect meat to be delievered as fine particles like sand. Dont waste your money.
Follow-up · The dogs had not tried the food prior to first delivery. Whilst the food had lumps of meat the packaging had lots of fine crumbs and scraps of meat and very dry like sand particles. Food was packaged in plastic packing.

Food is great my dog loves it but the foods only as good as the service provided. I requested an order to come early and did not change any other scheduled deliveries however I noticed there was a 4 week period where the deliveries had been changed and we had no food for my dog. Received my order 5 days later after contacting Lyka. 1 week later… Read more · 2
(yesterday) I receive an email saying there is an issue with the courier and our order will not arrive on time and they will get back to me as soon as they know when it will be delivered. 2 hours later I receive a message saying your order is on the move and will be delivered tomorrow, which is today yet when I check the tracker there is no truck with my delivery within at least 200Km of my house. Once again because it’s week by week my dog has 1 meal left for tonight and tomorrow will be without food again. I changed him to Lyka because I was concerned he wasn’t getting the right foods but now I’m having to swap him from Lyka to dog roll back to Lyka to dog roll due to the inconsistencies in delivery. This for me is a major issue and an issue that would make me look at other brands that offer healthy clean meals for my Dog with consistent deliveries. This issue has now been resolved. Lyka reached out and listened to my concerns and fixed the issue.
My 4 year old Jack Russell was very recently diagnosed with Pancreatitis & sudden IVDD at the same time. Saturday. I only transitioned for two meals as I knew the Lyka would be better for him regardless. His return to normal poo was instant!!! brown healthy firm segmented no smells poo.
.. this amazing food has taken away my worries concerning my fur child’s diet and has given me contented satisfaction that he now has good nutrition, his number 2’s are proof of how good it is. He loves his meal times, nothing is left. Not the case with his food before Lyka. When he sees his bowl he becomes excited xx and he tries to make a beeline for it:) I love that he loves his food :)
He has back leg paralysis for the time being :( I know this good food will aid him in his recovery and with his Pancreatitis condition (I ordered meals recommended to help with Pancreatitis) Thank you Lyka for a wonderful product.

I adopted Honey and Treacle in 2020 after their elderly owner passed away. They were 6 and 4 years old. They had been fed a diet of kibble with a raw chicken leg daily and were overweight. A few months after they arrived Honey experienced a bout of severe gastroenteritis and refused to eat the kibble. I had already been using cooked foods as a… Read more
meal topper and I had seen many people recommending Lyka online. I decided to give it a try. The girls took to it immediately and have not looked back. I reduced the recommended portion size as I give them things like boiled egg, sardines, banana, apple greek yoghurt and berries, dental chews, Lyka mussel munchies and sardine snaps and roo tendons. Their weight is now satisfactory and their gut health has been consistently good ever since. They love every mouthful of every flavour and I feel I am doing the best I can for their health. They have loads of energy. The customer service is second to none and I recommend Lyka to everyone. They have the best interests of the dogs at heart and will do everything to make the customer experience an excellent one.

My dog absolutely loves all the Lyka meals. When we adopted her, she had a bad skin condition and runny stools. Within weeks of eating Lyka, her skin cleared up and no more runny poops. Her poop barely smells. Lyka has had such a healthy impact on her life. Show details

My dog is large, mixed breed, 7 years old. She wasn't loving her old food, but would eat when hungry. We tried Lyka on recommendation from friends. She loved it immediately! Ate all of it in one go. So we ordered using a referral code. Dog loves all the flavours and the free treats for first order. She's got more energy, her poops are better, she's loving life again. Yes, it's expensive, but with fewer vet visits it's worth it. Show details
Very picky dog and after 2+ months he still eats well on some days but not on others. Poo is finally as it should be - easy to pick up not sloppy. Not keen on roo or turkey so we have cut these 2 out of his order. Show details

I’ve been a long-time customer of Lyka, but my recent experience has been extremely disappointing. My Cavoodle vomited twice after eating rancid/stale meals from their lamb and goat batches. I reported four rancid hypoallergenic goat pouches as well as lamb pouches, yet this was not properly acknowledged. While they provided a full refund, their… Read more
response focused on batch statistics and courier temperatures, with almost no empathy for my dog’s health. It feels that now Lyka has a large customer base, the concern for individual pets — and the impact on owners when something goes wrong — no longer matters.

Overall, very pleased with the meal quality and options available to change order and size.
