Im in NZ and buy the farmers market chicken and freeze dried dog food because it says it is made in NZ but I’m not sure where the meat is sourced from. Can you please let me know if it is Australian lamb and beef. Also my dog loves this but I am worried about how much she has started drinking water. Is this product high in sodium?   Wet Dog Food Chicken Stew with Vegetables & Brown Rice

Hmmm this is an odd review. I bought 2 tins of this, from the Opportunity Shop (community recycling shop) and because of the labelling, I thought it was Human Meat and Veggies - meal in a tin... I got the tins home, and ever famished, I opened one, started to eat it and thought - "This is rather bland - it's far off the human food scale" - so I… Read more ·  1

read the FINE PRINT and in all the tiny words and symbols...

And it's DOG FOOD.

a) Their labels try to be everything to everyone, so they are cramming in lots of "we are the worlds best" in lots and lots of fine print details and with fine detail images.

They are ppealing to human eaters, of human foods = good, by showing meats and vegetables, instead of:

i) Using a simple primary label:

"Farmers Market" "Dog Food"

ii) And a BIG IMAGE of a DOG.

Sure it's not that bad if you come across it in the pet food section of the supermarket...

But what if your buying it or grabbing a can from a dimly lit shop or pantry?

And you don't have your READING GLASSES ON...

"That looks like HUMAN FOOD to me!"

Well anyway - chop sticks in hand, I started to eat it, thought, "My god - this is SO bland - unlike plain meals I cook with just meat and veges, that taste great..."

So I spat it out, back into the can and REAL the FINE PRINT.

Then I gave it to the cats... and they really liked it and ate as much as they could...

So yeah - Farmers Markets - you seriously need to redesign your labelling.

My groodle loves this. I've tried raw, slow cooked, home cooked and he's so d#mn fussy, would never usually go to a supermarket brand but it's all he will touch. Even I like the smell. But I worry about how much sodium is in it and it's true nutritional benefits.

We have a 12 yr old Greyhound (retired racer) we used to cook a mix of pet mince and human grade mince when he was younger, now his needs have changed and we find this is the only brand that does not upset his gut. He is retaining his weight (aging so not much activity). Good serving size and but not so easy to find at times in local supermarkets. Priced at $5 usually but can be bought on special for $3, if you are lucky. Show details
