Worst cruise I've ever sailed on. Do not sail if you're under 50. The average age of the cruise must have been 60, it genuinely felt like an aged care home. Every bar and venue was cleaning up and closing at 11pm because they were empty and everyone was back in their cabins. There is also constant upselling and the service was so poor for a… Read more
"premium" line. The entertainment was good but it was the same as all the other cruise lines. Avoid at all costs, I couldn't recommend it less, sail with any other cruise line instead.
- [ ] I booked a cruise with celestyal it was ok but the tours were badly ran and the ships are old - [ ] Then saw a good deal paid a deposit got that back after a lot of asking then they shared my cc details and fraud was committed on my account, be careful they are dodgy Show details
Am a loyal member of Celebrity Cruises and will have elite status at the end of the next cruise. They have really deteriorated in terms of their customer relations and offerings. all concierge cabins would be lovely. NO NOT SO!. Cabins are allocated randomly and concierge cabins can have 20% obstruction when looking from the cabin entry door! So this is 20%!! Every Attempt to discuss has led to me being stonewalled.

Celebrity Edge – A Truly Luxurious Cruise Experience!!! From the moment I stepped aboard Celebrity Edge, I knew this was something special. This ship truly understands the meaning of luxury, comfort, and exceptional guest care. The attention to detail was outstanding. making every guest feel pampered and valued. It felt less like a cruise and more like staying in a world-class floating resort. The food was absolutely exceptional. Every meal was beautifully presented, full of flavour, and restaurant-quality. There was an impressive variety of dining options, and each experience felt refined and indulgent. It was easily some of the best food I’ve had at sea. My cabin was a haven of comfort. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the pillows luxurious, and the overall design modern and elegant. The Infinity Balcony was a standout feature — breathtaking views, fresh sea air, and a peaceful space to relax. It added a whole new level of sophistication to the cruise experience. Having been on 14 cruises, I can confidently say that Celebrity Edge is among my top three. It offers the perfect balance of luxury, relaxation, and value for money. Every detail, from the ship’s design to the service and atmosphere, exceeded my expectations. Celebrity Edge is not just a cruise — it’s an experience. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a premium, unforgettable journey at sea.
Cheap ports miles from anywhere, poor food quality, the ship is old and tied, show quality average. Spend your money elsewhere. Show details
Celebrity Retreat Suite cruise a massive disappointment – Bitterly disappointed with the lack of meaningful Retreat facilities and the standard of the Sky Suite cabin on this vessel. We expressed the wish to disembark and to have the remaining balance of days refunded but this was denied. We have decided to delay our detailed review pending completion of the cruise and to allow Celebrity management to address the issues we have raised with them. Show details
A new ship style and a fantastic cruise – Overview This was the first of Edge class ships (2018) .....now one of four with the last two growing by 70 ft and 10000 T We can compare as this was our third trip after Solstice & Eclipse of the earlier classes. This wholly new style must have the opposition very worried. BTW, I hear that Princess has joined Norwegian, breaking away from… Read more · 1
Carvival, which owns most of the large known brands. Your early 'walk through' confirms a new round stage theatre, two -level midships open music/bar area, four theme restaurants, two (or is it three) specialty (cost) & two 'suite guest' only restaurants. Modern shops and one ltd general store. Much more and all with a classy feel. The ship attracts many Aussies & international guests and the people are often open with nice trouble free guests. In the main, nice middle aged. Dress sense is well, sensible. I wore polo shirts and coloured slacks/jeans but not denim to the restaurants. 'Chic nights' a little better. Our ship had 50% aussies and 50% others mostly usa. Although say Royal Princess had very nice food and great entertainment I would go back to Edge despite a $5000 fare for two compared to the same places and time on Royal Princess at $3000 As the theatre and Buffet is at the Bow and most restaurants at the stern perhaps your cabin should be Mid-aft or aft. This is a very nice ship.
Main Theatre Entertainment Every night was a different show of very high quality. Only on two nights (of ten) did I feel that it was aimed at a younger group but was resolved on their next appearance. The stage is round and comes close to the audience. Literally, impresses in every way.......and with the superb sound.
Other Entertainment Afternoons might have say three band performances at separate times and likely two are different. One other on deck. Nights continue the theatre entertainment. Sometimes the Eden restaurants area has music. I was amazed to see new acts turning up well into the cruise. Late in the cruise I discovered The Club....tucked away near the theatre, where all sorts of activities take place. This ship is unreal.
Stateroom (& service) We travellled in a new style 'Infinity Balcony) and was very pleased with the open extension to the 'balcony' which is part of the stateroom. It is veiled, if needed by folding doors or a full drop screen. The top glass can drop by switch to half way. The overall room is a new design and the bathroom very modern. A couch is provided although the TV is fixed and opposite the bed. The bed, for me, is way too soft and hard to turn over on. The staff for cabin make up were great. TV has multiple world news (inc Aust) and programs not really enough. There was no program guide which made planning impossible.
Main Restaurants There are four restaurants of theme. Greek, Italian, Cosmopolitan and American style. The atmoshere IS a little different although the food rests on a similar style with some specialitys of the above. Not large servings (you can ask for more) and the feel that you arn't really dining on that theme because of limited choice.
Other restaurants Main passengers have those four restaurants and the Poolside grill. The 'buffet' is served in the Oceanview Cafe on 14 at the front of the ship. There are the Spa cafe (small) and another attached to the Eden area (Stern). All free as one would expect on a cruise. I admit that I wouldn't like to pay for the ships upkeep ........but they are in US parlance "Complimentary". Common across US owned ships. You can pay for The Grill or the wonderfully located Eden restaurant , low down looking at the wake of the ship. The cost is at Eden $US102 per head. For a couple that's $US 204. Perhaps in Aussie dollars nearly$300 plus drinks. For Suite guests they get Blu and Luminae restaurants. I assume thats included in their fare.
Ships card use The ships card accesses your cabin ....sorry stateroom, and pays for your drinks therein and all costs onboard. You sign AND get a receipt. I'm not a great fan of Princess cruises medallion.
On board costs Stateroom cost is $US 7.50 a litre for water. Small water bottles of water costs throughout the ship except for two bars....umm....somewhere.
Use of tenders 'The Magic carpet' (docking deck) moves from a bar area to water level and has a full on open deck area with multiple exits. Often, private companies are used with great capacity. Both have A/C.
Safety & Covid In Lifeboat mode well over 200 people can be taken off. By design, for space, these are Catarmaran hulls but is this suitable for rough lifesaving conditions? Passemgers do not get life jackets in their cabin and are requested to go to their Emergency station for direction and possible loading into lifeboats. One can only suggest that any direction is better and more immediate than Concordia or Twin Towers. It ised to be assembly on the lifeboat deck.
Covid A net search reveals that............ A few lines like Norwegian use A/C of HEPA 13 (Medical grade) Many others like this ship use that in their medical rooms but claim 100% fresh air. But they and Edge use Merv 13 HVAC. I note that out of our four cruises we've had in 14 months that we're had Covid on two and usually in the last day or so. Why in the last day? A/C settings? Here's the score (and yes I'm aware of Ruby Princess etc.) Coral Princess -Royal Princess .......NIL Celebrity Eclipse -Celebrity Edge...Two of Covid OR is this a co incidence?

We had an 11 night cruise of eastern Mediterranean. Rome to Rome. Ship was amazing. Food amazing. Staff amazing. Captain was brilliant and funny and professional. In fact we know other cruisers got their drinks package nearly half price that we were offered. These people were not regulars cruisers or getting rewarded by Celebrity. We would love to know Why? On board everything is so expensive. Gratuity 20% on everything. 2 port stops Bar Montenegro and Split Croatia, we had to ask why? They were extremely disappointing. The money this cruise cost, these port of call should never be on the schedule. If you enjoy the casino/ poker machines I would advise you safe your money. They paid out very very little.
Sydney to Honolulu via NZ and Tahiti. One word, amazing. This was our 8th cruise, and our best. everywhere. The staff were also top notch, as was the entertainment and effort to assist passengers at every turn. The food was also amazing, with the best buffet. The only disappointment was minor, being the lack of body creme in the bathroom, and the poor quality shampoo and shower gel. Other than that, my cruise had a flash sale a few weeks out, and offered discounts 50% less than what I paid a few months out, plus OBC. Lost 5k by booking early. Was still worth it, and we have some great memories.
Australian Wine Tour – Lovely ship, fantastic service, great shows with first class artists and the food the best we have had on any cruise. The Australian wine tour didn't disappoint.

We booked with My Cruises a year in advance for India's, Golden Triangle . Eight days touring over land then 13 dals on a cruise . Finally the day arrived. and left absolutely no free time for 6 days straight. The problem being it was no good staying back missing a tour as the hotels were in La La Land, nothing to see. When we boarded the ship we were both very sick from something we think we ate or drank in one of the food stops on our extended tours. One thing that i found (and had heard about) was the tour guides incredible determination to cash in on money earning side schemes. Not surprising, it's easier to milk tourists than cows. We have sailed with Celebrity Cruises before and have never been disappointed. We checked in. The ships cabin vent in bathroom had a thick inlay of dust which i removed as best i could. As we both were so sick i felt that had to call the attendant in to disinfest the shower and toilet after a day or two onboard. He did a very thorough job he didn't however wear any rubber gloves, no personal protection whatsoever. I was horrified. I went to see the medical on board practitioner for some advice on my condition. The lady at his quarters said it was going to cost $250 American dollars for a consultation. Two days later (day 4) the ship denied passengers serving themselves at the Oceanview meals area as Gastro had broke out. A member of our group told me that he visited the doctor so i asked him how much he was charged, his reply flawed me, nothing was his reply. I just felt a lot of the sickness could have been obverted, if handled pronto without the $250 penalty for falling sick. This review cannot be concluded without a mention of the staff and entertainment. "Entertainment"- Simply the best no risk there. Kristine (solo performer) was one of the many performers that set my heart afloat (pun intended) with an outstanding passion for her craft. All acts as is typical of Celebrity were sensational. The ships crew just awesome, polite and very understanding. Ciao.
Verdict: Not worth the premium price. Sydney -> NZ Dec 2025 Celebrity Edge felt greedy and manipulative, with nonstop upselling, hidden-feeling costs, and poor value throughout. Despite already paying daily service charges, a 20% surcharge is added to almost everything. The ship is visually bland, the “Infinite Veranda” is misleading (not a… Read more
balcony), and food was often lukewarm or inedible — including pasta, risotto, seafood, and meats that were tasteless and oddly soft. Drinks packages were particularly bad value, with cheap wine sold at inflated prices and constant pressure to pay extra.
Even small details felt cheap (wooden stirrers instead of teaspoons). Staff later pressured guests to give perfect reviews, which says a lot.
This did not feel like a luxury cruise.

I was so excited to be going on a cruise on Celebrity Edge and wasn't disappointed with the quality if the vessel. I was, however, sorely disappointed and somewhat offended that forward facing seating has been taken away from the majority of passengers to become the exclusive right of suite passengers. Too much inward focus and not enough outward facing seating.

railing was mostly rusted Our cabin had a very noisy motor inside a door opposite our cabin which appears to be some sort of pumping station and below the swimming pool with continuous banging & thumping noise transferring into our cabin. Blu Restaurant, for Aqua class guests, there was up to 30 minutes wait for a table, a buzzer was handed to us and told to come back when it buzzed Tables are extremely close together, which results in no romance and no privacy. Blu Restaurant is sold as an “Adults Only” there were children dining in the restaurant The food in the “Blu” Restaurant was OK, nothing like the promotional advertising and mostly service near cold The food in the Buffet restaurant was ok, a good range of choices but cheap quality food, over cooked a but again never hot enough. On sea days the buffet restaurant at lunch time was like a feeding frenzy at the zoo, near impossible to get a table as this was the only restaurant open. The breakfast that can be ordered in the cabin was disgusting everything hard dry & cold. The “Adults Only” solarium is a farce, because it is a major thorough fare on the ship, there are noisy children running around whilst transiting through the solarium to other areas, difficult to get a sun lounge in the solarium The Persian Garden was just a few saunas and a barely warm bench seat The Theatre shows are sooo loud, each night we had to leave after around 20 minutes because we cannot stand the level of the “ear bashing” sound. In the Martini Bar where we enjoy the entertainment, there is a large group of young teenagers, increasing as the days go by to around 20, gathering each evening with unacceptable noisy behaviour, unpleasant for mature many cruise guests and staff make no attempt to quell this disturbing intrusive noise. The majority of Celebrity staff are belligerent and unhelpful when we ask simple questions. The shore excursions were very expensive. The guide on the ones we went on did not speak good English. On three excursions there was torrential rain most of the day. Departing the ship to the coach was a long walk, none of it undercover. We were drenched when boarding the coach therefore in wet cloths & shoes for the length of the tour. The weather restricted the visibility at the attractions and some not accessible due to area being too wet to access. Due to the weather there should have been alternatives arranged. Never again with Celebrity

Very disappointing review that failed badly to live up to it's promotion – Synopsis ------------- This cruise was overpriced, over promoted and under delivered. ------------- We embarked upon what was expected (due to the wide variety of Youtube videos attesting to a high calibre cruise and Celebrity's own promotion and advertising) to be a luxurious cruise. Unfortunately, the only really commendable elements of the… Read more
Australian Wine Cruise we took on 1st December 2024 to 10 December 2024 was the quick and easy boarding and disembarkation processes. Everything else most definitely fell far short of the aforementioned promotion as I will elaborate below.
1. the Retreat Class we booked was supposed to provide a level of excellence and even luxury one might expect in a five star hotel. Well sadly, it certainly did not. The Retreat is promoted as being a special enclave of the ship where those in Retreat Class suites could expect to be overtly pampered. Again, whilst there was a special lounge (akin to business class airport lounges) and a separate restricted deck environment, there was none of the expected (again from the promotion) "lap of luxury" accommodation and service. The Youtube videos routinely show these Retreat areas when there are limited passengers around and we found that rarely if ever to be the case save perhaps in an after hours situation. The actual lounge itself as I've mentioned is akin to an airport business class lounge and was worse than many such lounges as there was a paucity of food and beverages in quality and content that was indicated to be from the advertising. 2. The much lauded Luminae restaurant (restricted to Suite Class passengers) did have some specialty type foods however, they lacked any real quantity with most meals being little more than a sampler of entree, main and desserts. If Room Service (see point 3) was up to expectations this may not have been the issue that it turned out to be. 3. Room Service was promoted as being a higher calibre than room service in non-Retreat Class cabins. Our room service was extremely poor with often missing requested items (including even cutlery on more than one occasion). Hash browns were overcooked, generally cold (as were most of the meals delivered) and again overall this was the worst room service we've experienced on a cruise line. So much for the promoted luxury room service. 4. Butler Service is promoted as a standout feature of Retreat Class. On one occasion our butler brought to our room breakfast which we had not ordered. It turned out it belonged to another passenger's suite and that passenger needed the food on time due to a shore excursion. I can only imagine that the tray was redelivered to that other suite as I can't imagine it was sent back due to the shore excursion timing. Our butler failed to provide the expected support and service we had come to expect from the promotion and advertising. This was exacerbated on the last day of the cruise when due to illness my wife required some small breakfast in the cabin however, the butler could not accommodate us. 5. My wife tripped awkwardly during the first half hour of the cruise walking from the balcony into the cabin to get her camera for the sailaway and her foot caught in what I can only describe as a dangerous and obscured recess in the door step. She fell heavily and spent a large amount of the cruise very restricted in her movements. Her leg was badly bruised and although the medical centre provided a satisfactory level of care our cruise inevitably suffered from this event. The ship's Retreat Concierge manager Denise tried to partially compensate us with a $1,200 "Future Cruise Credit". Now whilst this was nominally worth something it is something we do not plan of availing of with Celebrity Cruises after what was a very disappointing cruise. Conclusion ----------------- Would we recommend Celebrity Cruises and in particular the Edge? A most resounding no. We've cruised on far more enjoyable ships where the service and facilities were superior at a much lower price point.

The only alternative they offered was to combine my and my wife's reservation with my children's into a single cabin in the middle of the ship—despite originally booking two separate cabins. I'm extremely disappointed with the service. It’s hard to believe the entire ship is fully booked! They could and should have been more honest and considerate toward us as passengers. The result? All four of us now have to share one cabin!

Buyer beware – A HUGE SHOUT OUT TO ANYONE THINKING OF A CRUISE WITH CELEBRITY CRUISE LINE OR ITS PARENT COMPANY. Having just come back from a cruise on Celebrity Edge right here in Australian waters, I would love to share my experience with all of you. Firstly, cruising is a fantastic way to travel and this was my wife and I’s third cruise. Because it was a… Read more
special occasion we decided to treat ourselves and went for a room with the perks of the spa treatment… Fantastic facilities and very friendly staff.
The meals in the main buffet area were also a step above and available almost day and night. Again the staff were fantastic and would practically do anything for you….
Unfortunately for the exorbitant price of the original fare this is where things started to fall apart.
The 4 main dining rooms all had a theme. One French, one Italian, one Greek and one so called American. They all had a themed specialty but apart from that they all served the same food from the same kitchen for the entire cruise. (In this case 11 nights)
For a company that prided themselves on quality and variety we found this to be a right slap in the face… It was nothing like the brochure and for a moment I thought that same advertising company that sells McDonalds must have been involved????
From the moment we boarded the ship, the crew was hell bent on selling us anything and everything from specialty spa treatments to fine dining in their exclusive restaurant’s and top end shopping. The other thing that got me was we were sailing in Australian waters but all the extra’s including shore excursions were charged in American Dollars. That is a mark up of almost 50% on everything above the already inflated prices anyway.
The only onboard entertainment during the day was practically non existent unless you thought dot painting, musical bingo or trivia items of recognition?
They did have some quality shows at night but not every night. Before we cruised I told some friends how much I was looking forward to the nightly shows. On previous cruises they had been world class and very entertaining but were we disappointed. I’m sure the cast and production did the best they could with what they had but it was pretty obvious that they were on a limited budget and I can only blame the company for that. (Shame on you Celebrity)
Prior to COVID 19 cruising was defiantly a great holiday but since then things have taken a dive… These corporations have made it quite clear to me, my wife and friends that profit comes before anything. They seem fanatical about treating you like sheep and fleecing you at every single opportunity. In fact they are still fleecing me till this day, still charging me with things I didn’t buy and double dipping with pending charges.
If cruising is on your bucket list, my advise to you is do your homework and read the fine print well. This company are wolves dressed up in sheepdog clothing. They pretend to have your best holiday interest at heart but they are there to skin you alive and eat you.
I still think cruising is a great holiday but I will never travel with these rouges again.
Missing Phone on Celebrity – Having completed our sixth cruise with Celebrity, again we had a wonderful time visiting various cities in New Zealand. security as we entered the ship. We returned to our cabin and realised the phone and wallet were missing. We immediately returned to security checkin, the wallet was there but no phone.
Why am I telling you this?
We innocently reported the missing phone to Guest Relations, my wife had “ Find My Phone” on her phone and the woman in Guest Relations acknowledged that the phone is “on the ship”.
We met with Ship Security and agreed to an immediate “cabin search” …… two men went through our cabin, under the bed, in our suitcases, backpacks, safe, drawers, handbag and all personal possessions…. to no avail.
We filled out an incident report, signed it and took a photo for our records…. the lead security officer informed us that this report is CONFIDENTIAL and we cannot have a copy. We informed him that the confidentiality is between Celebrity and ourselves…. he was perplexed but left our cabin.
Bearing in mind we did not accuse anybody of taking the phone, we just reported it missing!
The next day, we had a visit to our cabin from the head of housekeeping (lovely man)……We stressed the phone was not in our room following the “search”.
The next day, we were beginning to feel harassed when we received a call from the concierge team, we repeated the saga of the lost phone. The left hand did not communicate with the right ….. would you agree to a cabin search…. how did they not know the search had already been performed!!!!!!
Lesson learnt from this fiasco, if you misplace an item on a Celebrity cruise, I stress, DO NOT report the item missing as you will be harassed to the point of throwing your hands in the air and saying…. STOP this is too stressful, have the missing item!
Our crime, we had the temerity to report that the phone was missing, not stolen, it was on board the ship and missing!!!
Holiday Flop – Staff were amazing but the rest of the experience was disappointing. Re-positioning cruise so a-lot of sea days and very limited activities. 3000 passengers on board and certain activities only had a capacity for 30 so a waste of time. main dining rooms. Entertainment in the evening was better but still not as good as we have experienced on this ship in the past. I have to reduce the star rating because the meals, even in the exclusive restaurants, was not up to the standards of the other aspects of the ship. i.e below par! The 75% off second passenger scam – I attempted to book a cruise in response to the 75% off second passenger offer. I discovered that two people sharing a suite at $10764 with 75% off second passenger was not the approx $13500 that I expected but was $21500. The fares jumped to $17700 each, that is single supplement. What a scam! Show details
Choose another cruise line – Their only concern is making money out of you. I have been on other cruise lines that are better catered. These guys are over hyped.
Use to be a fan of Celebrity – We have cruised multiple Celebrity cruises over the years but cruising through Alaska on The Edge has been really disappointing. They have gone away from the middle lift in the boat so to access level 3 as an example you have to go to either end of the boat on level 4 then go down the stairs. To try and get a good view of the glazier was only… Read more
possible from our veranda as they have cut most of the viewing around out by the retreat. Where on other boats you could enjoy a view almost anywhere here on this boat was extremely crowded.
The food over all was nothing special and in fact we had a couple of disappointing meals. In cosmopolitan our fish was over cooked. The server said the fish is a dry fish????
You are constantly harassed to buy from the spa, speciality eating and the shops. As an example I collect the fabage pendant eggs and had mentioned it to the sales assistant but said I didn’t like the ones they had. I told them a budget I was willing to spend on a ring. Do you think they would be happy to sell me something? No they had to push and push wanting me to spend more than double that amount and when I said no they turned to my husband to convince him to buy it. I’m in sales and this was the most embarrassing sales tactics - think 80’s car sales man.
The adults pool was over run by kids as well.
It was like being with the poor cousin who is constantly asking for a dollar.
You don’t even get wi-fi for free and everything is so overpriced!!!
This was one of the most disappointing cruises with Celebrity yet.
A nightmare – I can only say that precruise booking customer service is a nightmare. We had two back to back cruises booked and paid in full. With an unexpected spinal surgery, not covered under travel insurance as said to be pre-existing, made us have to cancel our cruises. Communication by phone and email were only misleading or not answered. I had to go to… Read more
the Office of Fair Trading to get the 50% refund we were owed under their Terms & Conditions. It was suggested when cancelling that we may get back a full refund because of the medical situation. What joke that was, we had to fight to get back what we were owed. The number of promotional email Celebrity sends is ridiculous, they would be better to look after their existing customer. We would never recommend to book with Celebity.
Absolutely hopeless customer service – Absolutely atrocious pre-cruise customer service. Almost impossible to find a contact phone number. Once we did we called four times over three days and would be on hold for at least twenty minutes each time only to speak to someone that assured me they'd put me through to the right area.. another ten or more minutes on hold and then disconnected.… Read more
Every. Time. Finally located an e-mail address but have never heard back to email sent. We missed boarding our cruise due to a personal emergency and have never heard a single thing from them. Their website is appalling, constantly circular, dead links or simply a blank white page. No problem bombarding me with marketing and upsell emails for months in the lead up to the cruise but the minute you need to contact them.. absolutely nothing. Incredibly frustrating, and I see I am not the only one with these issues. Definitely avoid the headaches and choose another operator.
Lost bags were very identifiable and not returned – Celebrity lost our bag, containing all our family Christmas presents (our fault for trusting valets) and after 6 weeks, they have just advised they can’t find it and there’s nothing more to do. Our bag was easily identifiable as well as having name/phone/address so I find it very hard to believe it just “missing”. Their process is clunky and zero customer service. So disappointing as it ruined our family holiday. Show details
