BYD Shark 6 Premium (2024-2026)

2 Months in and happy as! Over 6000km Comfort, Capability, Refinement and Cost of ownership are all good. We are rural and live on a road with corrugation that most cars don't last well on. We use the shark for almost 100% of our running around. Negatives - high beam, but not a deal breaker and granny charging. Installation of a 7kw charger should be factored in to your purchase of your buying one. The vehicle is stock meaning no add ons. I will endeavour to update every service interval.
Follow-up · We have found the rough road handling good. It is 'sure footed' in our situation. Just got to try out sand mode on one of our gully crossings. It had fully sanded up with recent flooding. No problem. Infotainment is not a big deal for me. It does what it needs to do. It's intuitive enough.. However my 17 yr old loves it. The battery almost gets us to town and back on EV about 84km before the petrol motor kicks in. We do most of our driving HEV.

The vehicle is very high quality however do not get the BYD fitted manual tonneau cover. It is extremely difficult to open rendering it almost inaccessible. I have tried to get BYD to fix it but they say it would need a complete replacement by the electric version to solve the problem. A good Ute compromised.
