Gold Class paste (not liquid) review – OK product. Lasts about six weeks before losing its lustre. My car is garaged, seldom driven and isn't exposed to rain in the weeks following a wax.… Read more

So you might get even less time out of it if you drive more often or park outside.

Having said that, Meg's Ultimate Liquid Wax lasts only two weeks on my car before losing its lustre — despite synthetic waxes touted as being longer lasting. Perhaps paste waxes last longer than liquid waxes, irrespective of whether they're organic, synthetic or a blend of the two (as is the case with Gold Class).

This product takes more effort to remove than a liquid wax after drying, but it shouldn't be as difficult as a pure carnauba wax. It also instills a deep shine — likely shinier than most synthetic waxes, but not as shiny as a pure carnauba or commercial-grade wax.

Like many things in Australia, these car care products are laughably overpriced in comparison to what they sell for elsewhere — which is why I buy only when there's a decent sale OR from Ebay. Don't be the fool that pays full price at Supercheap.

cleaned up tree sap, light paint marks from other cars hitting the mirrors etc. I tried this on a 3 year old Mazda CX-5 and my 20 year old HiAce van. Both came up like new. Very impressed. Had to do a few runs on the worst places but eventually all came up great.

This is really good stuff! Easy to bring up a wet look shine in minutes – You'll want to apply with a foam applicator pad, not too much, just a light coat. Do it panel by panel. Let it dry to a white state (about 10… Read more

minutes), then buff the heck out of it with a microfibre cloth or polishing glove. Your car will look slick as! Like it just came out of the showroom. I've been using this for over a year and will be sticking with it because the results last even with regular hand washing using a wash and wax that Meguiar's have (the yellow stuff), but I use Kitten Ultra car wash right now.

Detailer is definitely my favourite, it’s dead easy to use - I initially work it in with an old cotton tea towel, then buff with a microfibre cloth. Works a treat, fabulous shine! I highly recommend this product, it’s a hundred times better than the Quik Wax, which is rubbish.

Worst Product EVER – If I could rate it below a zero I would!!! Used on the inside and it stripped a layer off of the door panel! Now I have to replace the door panel!! Wouldn’t use this on anything I like or dislike!!!  Show details

Great product – Happy with the results of Plastix after polishing the headlights on my Lexus. Only downside is the cloudy film comes back after a short time. Good for a quick shine though. Also you only need a small amount ! Show details

washing.

Great for removing surface contaminants that washing can't remove. Good for removing those paint marks that come from other car doors on shopping centre car parks.

If you intend to wax and polish your car use this stuff first to clean the paint surface for better results.

Apply with the foam applicator pad and buff off with a cloth after. Does exactly what is supposed to clean the paint

Cleans Top/Full Grain Leather really well – I RECOMMEND it for cleaning rather dirty Top/Full Grain leather. We purchased two excellent quality second hand, craftsman, TOP/Full GRAIN leather… Read more

recliners. Built to last forever! Top/Full grain leather is the best leather you can buy. In contrast, the much cheaper "Genuine leather" is polyurethane mixed with reconstituted leather scrap, and will easily tear and degrade. These recliners are a duck egg colour, and we needed to clean them up and protect the leather. We bought the Meguiars 3-in-1-leather-treatment expecting it to do a good clean and give a reasonable conditioning to the leather. The leather had some very old grime in the creases and a veneer of light grime from probably never having been treated with a leather cleaner. Certainly not horrible, but who wants to sit on old sweat residue and skin detritus? There were a few creases, minute marks and cuts but generally excellent leather for a 30 year old couch. Meguiars also claim UV protection, and that the cleaner is suitable for all leather (NOT SUEDE). Primarily this is probably targeted for cars with full grain leather seats. We initially wiped the recliners with 50% rubbing alcohol, which removed some water soluble grime. Then we gave them two rounds with the Meguiars, using a soft nylon battery operated brush on low speed to assist the process. We did a section at a time, spraying, working it in gently with the brush, then wiping off with a rag. We found there was still a little grime residue after the first treatment, although MUCH grime had been removed. The second treatment got the rest, as the final wipe with the rags testified! The following day we were pleased with the look of the leather, but could see that it really needed nourishment to remain supple. The seats looked a little dry and dull, perhaps because they'd been subjected to more vigorous cleaning. Our final treatment was with Leather Honey to further condition the recliners. The final result is very pleasing, and with regular gentle cleaning and conditioning, the recliners could outlast us! I bought this particular Meguiars product based on reviews of it's cleaning potential, and because it doesn't have a strong odour. It does have some odour, which most people won't dislike. It does the clean really well, but is not necessarily a one stop product if you want your leather to be in perfect condition for decades. If you use it regularly, then you'd probably only need to finish with leather honey every few years! You do have to shake the bottle regularly during application. And check the leather colour is not affected. We did find the initial spray appeared to leave "bleached spots". But with the scrubbing, these disappeared. Probably it was the spot removal of grime we could see. I'd also take a lot of caution before using on "genuine leather", and rub it with a rag, rather than any form of scrubbing, because you will damage "genuine leather" really easily. PU leather is POLYURETHANE, and is not leather. So the Meguiars is probably not suitable for PU "leather".

Excellent, long lasting car wax – This is a really good long lasting car wax. I used to use a carnauba wax on my cars, until I bought a car about five years ago and tried this… Read more

product on it.

I have only used it once on that car, and the water still beads perfectly five years later! Amazing. Yes my car is garaged, so you wouldn't get the same longevity from the wax if your car is parked outside. Five years between waxes - I am very, very pleased.

I think to get the best results you need to clay bar your car before applying the wax - I also recommend the Meguiars clay bar kit for this purpose, but you can get the same results from practically any clay bar and a spray bottle of water.

this could well be the worst "car care" product I've ever seen. If you want to know what it would be like to wash your car with oily water- try this. The suds disappear within a couple of minutes thanks to the ceramic/silicon ( let's call it for what it is - oil) so there is absolutely no cleaning properties in the detergent. I've never had to scrub so hard to clean paint than I did with this junk. Don't waste your money. Use a quality wash and wax and avoid these snake oils. After using their polishes for years, I'm disappointed to see Meguires put their name on such a substandard product.

bought the Meguiar's kit being recommended by the auto part professionals. I had used a different brand about a year ago on a friends car which did a good job. The kit contained a bottle of cleaning cream and clear spray and two round disks for scrubbing. I spent about half an hour scrubbing to no avail. I remembered when I did it before, using wet and dry sand paper. I used the sand paper until the lens had a frosted look. Then I scrubbed it again with the cream cleanser. Polished it off then gave the headlights two sprays 5 minutes apart. The result was quite good but not as easy as described on the packaging. A lot more work than described. For the $80 I think there should have been the wet and dry paper included. A few cents extra cost but would have saved the time going to buy some and being as it is needed should have been part of the kit. The kit as sold would not have done the job.
