Zodiac Tri-XO Crossover Salt Chlorinator Series

Worst Pool Chlorinator I have ever used! – Have had three of these, that are supplied with pool installations and they have failed with out fail with 2-3 years. I have flow errors, the chlorinator cell degrades after first year of use and have a pool shop test my levels every 2 week. I ensure every level is absolutely perfect. I will never ever purchase another Zodiac for as long as live.… Read more
Of BTW my Zodiac Pool heater has also stopped working, there is another $4000 I need to spend!! Replacing this unit with the Davey or Austral E pool chlorinator
ZODIAC - Our Shining Star in Pool Chlorination – Purchased this unit to replace an earlier model Zodiac Tri-Large after many years of reliable service. By purchasing this latter version, there were no changes to the existing pool filter plumbing. It also means we can change from salt to mineral should we so decide. The unit is easy to install, and features friendly, simple user controls. Very happy with the purchase, price, quick dispatch and service, provided by The Pool and Spa Warehouse. Show details · 1
Works fine but be careful of the planned obsolescence/warnings – Be aware of the cell hour timer. After 6000 hours (lets assume 4-6 hours/day, 365 days year, e.g. 3 to 4 years usage) you'll get a check cell warning which many will assume it's end of life. Check online for a easy reset process. I suspect it's the root cause for many reviews showing failure after 3 years. Theres another counter for the main unit… Read more
itself but it's never bothered me.
I've had my crossover since 2016, had to reset the cell counter twice now and it's still working fine, with annual check of the cell and cleaning with diluted hydrochloric to remove calcium (be very careful...).
Don’t purchase – Pool is 3.5 years old. Chlorinate cell failed and struggled the last 2 summers, so there was always a problem. Flow error indicator light flashing. All baskets clean and clear. Not impressed with this product. Show details
Typical Warranty – Warranty 3 Years........ 3 Years and 3 months old......need replacement. From previous experience with Zodiac this seems typical. My advice is if you buy a chlorinator expect to replace it shortly after the warranty expires. When purchasing weigh up price and warranty period, expecting the need to replace almost directly after the warranty expires. Zodiac is now down to 2 years warranty...So??? Show details
Poor quality product – I paid $2,700 for a Zodiac Tri Chlorinator and encountered a major fault just after 3 years. Contacted Zodiac Australia, was asked to send though proof of purchase, then I was ignored for a month or so, then I was told they could do nothing due to being outside of warranty period (which is contrary to Australian Consumer Law), and that they would… Read more
do nothing anyhow as they were a Wholesaler (which is also contradictory to Consumer Law). Not really worth bothering with the small claims process, it's already fixed and moved on, but Zodiac Australia can most certainly be reminded that; not only is their customer service appalling and ill-informed, but their product really isn't of a merchantable quality.
Companies that do not install as they should – I purchased a ZT650 Pool Filter with Glass instead of Sand and a TR-XO Cross over LARGE the product has been great except the installation. I was away and when I came back a Plumber had installed who eventually did not know about installing swimming poll equipment. I purchased the equipment from Cozy Pool Care who had a plumber to install both… Read more
products. When I came home and looked at the product the TRi-XO cross over LARGE was installed on the side wall and not on the back wall. The seemed okay but when I looked a couple I could not see the Pressure Gauge. I called Zodiac and they told me yes there was a pressure gauge and it screwed into the six way valve. I went and looked and sure enough there was the Pressure Gauge on the back of the Six way Valve facing the back wall and hidden from sight from the front and unable to see with my eye. I discussed this with the owner Ben and he just said he would look into it. I told him that the ZT650 needs to be turned around and that it would need to be re installed. Hi told me that he would look into it and have not heard from him since..
