My original system was a 14KW Mitsubishi PEH 6K ducted reverse cycle 3 phase that worked absolutely amazing and lasted me well over 20 years in my 2 story home. I referred all family, friends and my community to Mitsubishi reverse ducted and I also fitted out my grandmothers 2 story home with a Mitsubishi reverse ducted in 2021. I purchased… Read more

my New Mitsubishi PEA-M140HAA-ZM(3) on 30 September 2025 to replace my PEH 6K 3 and sadly, its not cooling several rooms.

Example:- I turn bed 1,2,3 upstairs on and living downstairs off. Result. I have 2 extremely hot bedrooms and 1 lovely, cool master bedroom. Note even though living zone is switched off downstairs the air still comes out, so in my mind this could be the problem?

I cannot have anyone stay as the smarts in my new system turns the other bedrooms 2 & 3 cooling off when my master bedroom hits ambient temperature - example 23 degrees cool on 3 fan speed 3 bedrooms on only.

Master hits ambient very quickly so the 2 spare bedrooms simply circulate room temperature warmed air.

I was advised the only way to cool the bedrooms together is to try and put my master on at 19 which will not be possible as my master is freezing at 23.

The other solution I was provided was turn the downstairs living and upstairs bedroom 2 on when 1 person stays which means my master and bedroom 3 remain hot and what happens if 2 guests stay, as I cannot have living and 2 bedrooms on.

My old Mitsubishi 14Kw system had no smarts and it worked like an absolute dream throughout the house it was either on or off “no ambient shut down system” no smarts. If I had 2 guests stay I would simply turn bed 1,2,3 on and all rooms were extremely cool and comfortable.

I am so disappointed with this New model M140HAA-ZM(3) and require a solution from Mitsubishi to turn the smarts off so I can run 3 bedrooms (which are all very close together in proximity). Michael Smith said this would be possible for the manufacture to alter. I am still awaiting a resolution.

Perths summer this year has been up to 42 where I have not been able to offer any guest stay, as the bedrooms are as hot as outside.

It was 38, 38, 40 the past 3 days unbearable!

We purchased and had installed PEAM160HAAYKIT - it is costing us $1000 per month to run this. Running at over 6kw when turned on. Installed advises this is normal. At this rate it will cost us $12000 to run this unit per annum. We barely have it on. What a con! Had this installed through a builder and his installer. Show details

Got the 10kw ducted system for an old 2 bedroom unit, 5 outlets. Does an amazing job. Potentially could have looked at getting 3 split systems instead but it would have potentially cost about the same price as a single ducted unit, then there would have been the inconvenience of 3 different controllers. The PEA-M-HAA Series soo quiet, I can't… Read more

even hear the outdoor unit from inside the room it's mounted against. I don't even hear the air coming through the ducts or any noise from the unit in the ceiling.

It's been single digit days, sometimes even negative digits here in the Riverina, AC keeps the house very comfortable. Note, my quoted price also includes removal of old split system.

Definitely get the wifi controller, it's soo handy and responsive to have.

A Great System We spent considerable time selecting a new system to replace our existing. We consider energy use, operating temperature range, outdoor unit noise levels, and easy of installation. We chose the Mitsubishi Electric PEA-M140HAA in 3 Phase to better match out solar/battery system. We chose to match the system with the Air Touch 2… Read more

controller. While the cost was slightly higher than other options the higher temperature operating range was important considering the higher temperature expected in the life of the unit. The system has proved to be much more energy efficient and quieter than our old system. The temperature control is very good and the system is able to bring the room to temperature very quickly. The ability to operate the system remotely by WIFI is very useful. We are very happy with our choice.

Mitsubishi fixed my broken unit – ******** Update 4th August 2025 ******** A senior Mitsubishi Tech came to my house to investigate. They discovered that something was not quite right with the outdoor unit. The tech was extremely thorough and spent a good 1.5 to 2 hours taking measurements and putting the unit through its paces. The next day I received a message saying that the… Read more

unit was not performing as designed and they would be replacing it.

1 week later - Mitsubishi organised the original installers to come and replace the unit. The senior tech from Mitsi was present to ensure all was done correctly.

The end result is that i now have a unit that is much quieter and still heating the house. The new unit is about 30% quieter in the top range, plus it ramps down now - i did not observe this before. The temp produced is also much more pleasant and the power usage is much less.

Thank you Mitsubishi for taking ownership and honouring your warranty.

********Update 11th July 2025

The noise from the Aircon unit is as noisy as every - very irritating - I urge everyone that is looking for an aircon - DO NOT BUY a Mitsubishi Electric Aircon!!!

To see more info and videos showing the loud sound check this out: https://jaderoses.com/mitsubishi-noise-complaints.php

The response from ME was disheartening - they will not help resolve the issue even though the noise is unchanged a few days later:

2/7/2025 Work Performed - attended site, checked over unit and found unit to be making a really loud noise. Took decibel readings and they were 85. Opened up unit and found that packaging foam was still stuffed at back of compressor. Removed and tested again. Much quieter (****Note this is not true). Took compressor winding readings see task photos Reported back to Mitsubishi Electric who advised they will cover the attendance in this instance.

No images were provided of the compressor winding readings.

****** Update 2nd July 2025

Mitsubishi Electric was fast organising a tech out to troubleshoot. The technician found a 20cm chunk of packing foam wedged behind the compressor.. its now been there for a year. Supposed to remove it after installation but the installer (DACS, Canning Hwy Perth) didn't, even after my complaint about excessive noise the day after the install.

The compressor measurements are apparently off and its running at over 80 DB for heating. Should be in the 50's. Removing the packing foam has helped a bit, but probably not enough.

Now we will see what Mitsubishi Electric will do.

****** Update 29th June 2025

Just wanted to add to my review. I tried to fill out the Mitsubishi Electric online support form. The form does not work. I tried calling them by phone and finally managed to get through! The person was a human and they told me to send the form by email. I sent the email through on 23rd June to an address i found on the internet: CustomerCare@hvac.mea.com

The lady said this email was incorrect for Mitsubishi support and i should email: customercare@meaust.meap.com

I have sent them my invoice and details on the 27th June, 2025 and awaiting a confirmation or response of some description.

It has been very difficult to access Mitsubishi Electric support and I am really hoping they will attend to this case.

I was just out measuring the decibel level and its well over 74 DB according to my mobile app. Its very noisy and goes through my double brick walls - it ok if i wear noise cancelling head phones but otherwise the frequency is strangely irritating and i actually don't mind a bit of noise. I uploaded a video with sound in link below:if you want to see it in action at over 70 DB.. i believe it goes max about 80DB but i am not a sound engineer.. i can say.. its loud!

https://www.onlymates.com/mitsubishi/mr_slim_aircon.mp4

The system heats the house nicely and seems to work ok. The issue is that the noise coming from the outside compressor - the frequency and pitch does ramp up and is a little abrasive if you are close to the unit or in the rooms next to the unit. Maybe will take some getting used to.

Just tried to reach ME on phone and it hung up on me.. 1300 651 808

Tried calling again: 1300 651 808 (Selected options #2 for existing customer, #2 for not a dealer, #1 for customer care and after about 1 minute it just hangs up automatically.

Luckily was able to reach installer and they have come out and said the unit is operating as designed.

So Impressed – We just upgraded our unit after 15 years and cannot believe the difference with this new system. Extremely quiet and super efficient. Absolutely love the Wi-Fi control. The first test was a 42c day and the system passed with flying colours. So happy we made the change! Show details

The right capacity Unit for Extreme 50 C Inland Temperature Range – We needed a Refrigerated Reverse Cycle unit that covers Temperatures up to 48 C in Summer and as Low as -5C in the Winter in South Australia's Riverland Region. We also have a an Evapourative Cooling unit, but isn't adequate during the hot Summer months which we kept as a contingency when and previously for the previous Reverse Cycle Split system… Read more

broke down irreparably. Specification Checks on Heat Draw down vs other well known Brands was stronger with this Mitsubishi Unit and caught my eye as the pivotal Performance Indicator to make the decision against comparably priced opposition units as well as the warrantees/guarantees were comparable and after sales service and maintenance available from Roe-Aire Refrigeration in nearby Renmark SA.

The unit has only just been installed in approaching Mid winter, so synchronising it with our 10 KWh Solar Panels and waking hours for 3 occupants to set morning start for a warm house during near midwinter conditions. I am very confident of this unit and the highly regarded Mitsubishi Brand and will continue to monitor to manage during the next 12 months , particularly leading into the Summer of 2024, a Hot El Nino Year, will give good opportunity for the unit to "stretch its' legs" keeping the house cool - very happy with this unit,

Mitsubishi Electric also had a Bonus Gift Card Campaign which I only discovered after I had made the second and final payment for the System, for a $400 Gift card for the particular unit we purchased which is handy for a offer period from 1st April 2023 to 31st July 2023.
