I am so impressed by this product. I've had disgusting brown stains at the bottom of my toilet bowl for years, and I've tried throwing in so many different chemicals into the bowl in an attempt to remove them but nothing worked until now!! I used about 2 tablespoons worth of this descaler powder and let it sit for about 20-30mins, and then used a brush and it came off so easily! It's so nice to finally see a clean white toilet bowl!

Toilet bowl stains - this was amazing. I’ve tried everything, and nothing budged it. This took minutes. (The directions say 1 minute, but I did it 3 times). Sceptical of previous reviews – Not convinced most of the previous reviews are genuine. 5 reviews with 5 stars mention scum on the bottom of the toilet bowl - that's an unusual word to use so many times. Coincidence??? If you look at the other reviews these people have left (eg Melbourne_3000) you'll find they have reviewed numerous dishwashers and washing machines - way more than what a normal person would go through.

Nothing works better – I had used everything to try and get rid of the brown scum at the bottom of the toilet. Different brushes and different products. Nothing worked. Heard to try this on the radio, next thing would have been a new toilet. And it worked. Unbelievable. I got it from Bunnings and it’s so cheap compared to a new toilet ! Show details

Such an amazing product! – The only product thats been able to clean stains from our toilet that has built up over a year. I was literally in a state of disbelief. Didn’t have to scrub the toilet. Tried it after reading reviews here – Had some really stubborn black stains in a toilet that wouldn’t come good no matter what I tried. I found this page when I Googled and was sceptical that it would work... finally tracked some down at Bunnings and, wow, what a game changer! It easily shifted the stain and toilet looks new. After 10 years. It’s still the best ever !!! – I have used this product for over 10 years and recently was unable to purchase it. I ended up having to use 3 other brands and found that none of them even came close to matching how clean and shiny my dishwasher and washing machine are after using this. Definitely removes toilet stains – Had been trying to remove a dreadful stain in my en-suite toilet caused by tilers throwing left over grout down the toilet when house was being built. and sprinkled about 2 tablespoons of Scalex powder down the toilet bowl. I left it 5 mins then added warm water and let it sit. Within 10 mins , a quick scrub and stain was gone. Toilet looks brilliant. I don’t know why it is shown as discontinued as I bought mine from Bunnings a few days ago and they had plenty in stock.

Wow just wow – I have been trying for years to get stains out of my toilet with nothing working, until I come across this product. lol until he seen the toilet he thought I brought a new toilet. I don't know how it works on other stuff but I can say it's amazing for toilets.

the loo, added the dissolved scalex, sprinkled a bit more and left overnight. Next morning I only slightly scrubbed and everything disappeared instantly!!! It looks brand new. This product is not discontinued to my knowledge as it is still available in Bunnings warehouse in Australia

Not so impressed – I used one sachet in my washing machine after using a different product for the last two years. I had to call the company to point out that 1 package had come with a leak due to not being sealed, and two, it has not deodorised as promised. I ended up having to take the product back for a refund, after disappointing customer service upon calling the Freecall number. I will go back to the other company's product.

Much cheaper short term alternative to massive filter systems – We noticed a large amount of scale buildup in our kettle and dishwasher and contacted the local water authority on the content of the water they were supplying us. water softening system that needs continual maintenance. In the short term the easiest fix was to utilise a descalant suitable for running through appliances. This was the more sinister option between CLR and Scalex, but CLR is nowhere near as aggressive as this product. It is suggested to use in washing machines as well but we are yet to see the scale buildup on our clothing so hasn't impacted us yet. Going forward I think saving the pennies for a RO system that scours all water that enters the house will stop scale buildup on all appliances at the cost of removing pseudo beneficial things like chlorine and fluoride from the local water supply that and RO water leaving a dry taste in ones mouth similar to licking a tennis ball.

Seems to work – After doing online research on why my washing was getting tiny beige spots on the garments particularly evident on light colours I found it was more than likely caused by a build up in the outer drum of the machine made up of body oils, fabric softener, detergent powder fillers and washing in cold to warm water only which allowed this build up. … Read more

So I went about finding a local product to remove this scum.

It's not that readily available so you may need to go out of your way a little but it is worth it.

My washer is a much loved Bosch front loader that is 6 years old at time of writing this review.

It needed 4 cycles with this product on a hot cycle and I upped the dose in the end to three table spoons full of the product on the 4th cycle instead of the recommended one tablespoon!

The end result is a clean interior of the machine.

I now wash in hotter temperatures as a result of this research and will be using this product every four months to maintain the inner health of the machine. Seems to work but note, older machines will need several goes until no further flaking is evident in the final rinse.
