Don't go NEAR Thinkware – The unit was installed professionally in my BMW X3. Involved in a not at fault collision (rear ended by a teenage male) in which I sustained significant neck injuries. Husband checked the unit an hour later, the Thinkware unit had failed to record the moments before the incident, the actual impact incident and the moments after the incident.… Read more

Absolutely worst case scenario for a camera you buy to do exactly that. More astounding was Thinkware's response. They performed a diagnostic and said unit was 'fine' and wanted to send it back to me to keep using, the same gammy unit. Laughable really. Based on my experience, I will never use and do not recommend Thinkware for front-rear dash cam. It is unreliable in the crucial moments and the after sales care lacks integrity.

F750 dual cam - 7 year review – Purchased and installed by a professional car audio tech. Has been working flawlessly over past 7 years in 2 different cars. Great quality 1080p video recording. Parking mode can be turned on or off via app. Lane departure warning, collision alert etc works very well. App is not the best one out there but never had any real problems with it. … Read more

Only minor issue was with connecting to the cam via WiFi. These are usually resolved with a restart of the cam.

Recommend it.

Support is non existent – F770 installed by AAV and works fine however the App for Mac doesn't seem to work with the latest IOS (10.15.3). I twice emailed the Australian office and got absolutely no response. I emailed the head office in the States, copying the Australian office. I immediately got a system generated reply but nothing since. Further emails for an update… Read more

produces no response either. If they do not improve customer support then they will start losing business. I won't buy again unless they pull their finger out.

Have a lot of trouble connecting – I’ve had it for six months. Had it wired into the car cost $1200. Worst product I’ve ever bought. Can’t even connect to wi fi. The buttons are so small I can hardly see them. I want my money back so I can buy something that works Show details

Thinkware dash cam F770 – It's pretty sad that this company delete my review because I'm telling the truth that the units are faulty and people should not buy it until they fix it you can buy it and test it yourself if you don't believe me around $1,000 I've purchased for but they're like the most expensive units around which is a joke when you pay that kind of money and… Read more

it doesn't work and you can buy a $50 one and it works better. you can buy it then you will be too late when police pull you over for going through a traffic light like I've been told and the video is missing around 20 seconds of exact on the traffic light which is a joke not for speeding but going through it shows Green but Justice as I passed it's missing now I've updated to F770 but now there's no app there app's don't work anymore there so lazy everyone has complained but nothing is working on the app so don't buy any thinkwire pruducts at all till someone wakes up from there coma and fix it

Ultimately a waste of money – I have an F750 and an F770 in each of my vehicles. Used to work fine until about a year ago. First started having problems connecting and getting messages like "WiFi may not be available" but would eventually connect. Then I would connect but couldn't access certain menu items like Record Settings or Live View. Lately haven't been able to connect… Read more

at all with either unit. I've scoured the Web for answers, contacted Thinkware, Samsung, Telstra, Forums all in a desperate attempt to get it working. I have installed firmware updates, installed and uninstalled app updates, cleared caches and stored data, changed every conceivable setting on my Samsung S9 plus all to no avail. And now because I've reset the cameras themselves, I've been forced to disconnect them because they've both reverted to factory settings beeping and warning me about speed camera locations literally every few seconds and there's no way of stopping it except to unplug them. So now I basically have over $1000 worth of dashcam that can't be used. I'm currently considering contacting Australian Consumer Law as these products are not fit for purpose. TL;DR: Don't waste your money like I have.

Absolute trash – Bought this for over $400 supposed to be premium. takes over 3 minutes recording to start .hate the annoying comment about regularly format memory card . Video quality is like budget $14 ebay dash cam. speed camera warning does not work after 2 weeks . what a waste of money

It does not record the fully – This dash cam does not record everything I was driving the other day and after checking the video footage it's stopped just before a traffic light when it restarted to record it's gone past 30 40 seconds then once again it started again then the next section it's missing 30 40 seconds this keeps happening every time when it's getting recorded .… Read more

this is a joke because you need the full recording as I wanted to see if I went through a red light I could not because it's stop just before it then when it started recording it was already past the traffic light and I couldn't even get a back view cam because I can only see the back of the traffic light by this time this definitely needs to be updated otherwise it's just a joke of a cam because it misses out too much footage from not getting recorded I do not know why it has such a long gap before it starts recording

June 21st 2019 Update: Thinkwire dashcam

If you are purchasing one of these don't bother as their app does not work and there's connection difficulties and recording problems do not buy this product as they do not want to fix this problem it's been going on for years and years if you don't believe me go on thinkware dash cam app and you'll see what I'm talking about people pay lot of money for this that she can but it's useless because when something happens it does not work so please don't buy it I can pull this from my dash cam

Dissapointing – Very disappointed, great while it worked. Had it just over 12 months now it just beeps and turns its self off. Lot of money to pay for 12 months use. This unit cost me $800 dollars with rear cam and hard wire kit. While it worked it was extremely good. I would not take a chance on this for the money.

Awesome Dash Cam – The picture quality is really good and the other features like lane departure and forward collision warnings are awesome. WiFi takes a few seconds to be found by my phone but once it's connected works really well, videos are easy to navigate on my phone as they are organised by date and time. Mobile speed camera zone warnings used to be a bit… Read more

annoying but since I updated the firmware it doesn't say anything about mobile speed camera zones unless I'm speeding.

Definitely use the Thinkware hard wiring cable as it enables parking surveillance mode. When I start the car my F750 tells me if there was an impact during parking mode, pretty handy for car parks trolley incidents ect...

crappy piece of kit – quality of support from importers -1 million out of ten, if they were able to resolve the issues raised it may have been a nice piece of kit don't waste your money as you will be highly disappointed try the other brands may be the go pro camera and its cheaper

Awseome peice of kit, needed in today's driving environment – With soo many crazy and reckless drivers on the road, I took the precaution of purchasing a dash cam. Before I made this purchase I looked at a lot of other dash cam products and reviews. Couldn't find any for the F750 from Australia (but saw a lot from Europe and Asia). Decided on the F750, very important to make sure it is installed right and… Read more ·  1

all firmware and software is up to date, we had to put a dash cover on our car dash, because the glare (during the day) was too bright and impeded the vision.

Once installed right, you're away laughing, with crisp wide vision continuously being recorded, and easily accessible, whether it's thru the Mobile phone App (which works flawlessly via Wifi), or thru the software via Mac desktop which shows GPS coordinates and speed. I prefer to watch the visual straight from Micro SD memory card (included with kit), because with the Mac version I wasn't able to enlarge the screen, this might be different for the PC version of the software.

As well as recording my vehicles oncoming traffic (140degrees), the F750 has a feature of warning you of lane departure, speed cameras, and red light cameras (not that I need this, because I'm a safe driver). The added bonus of the speed camera warning, is the F750 states the roads speed limit, which is good, if you're driving in unfamiliar territory. These features can be turned off if not needed. There are plenty of other features, but this review is too long as it is. :).

The F750 is an awesome piece of kit, and I'm surprised I haven't seen any other reviews of them in Australia, if anyone wants to ask me questions regarding the F750 dash cam, please feel free.
