Great service. I contacted Moving Champs for an online quote and received a callback within 15 minutes. The estimate I was initially provided was accurate. Ekam and Dogra were our removalists and worked very hard to get the job completed on time. Show reply
Moving Champs is an [Content Removed] service. They [Content Removed] an extra $700 from me while holding my furniture hostage. This, after being 8.5 hours late, refusing to take all my inventory of furniture, holding my belongings overnight and arriving the following day at my new home just three hours away, minus boxes of silverware and other goods. [Content Removed]. Use at your own peril.

Great service. Quick and efficient – Excellent job done by Ricky and assistant. A bed had to be lowered from the balcony- this was carefully prepared and it came down in less than 2 minutes! One sofa bed was complicated to move into a relatively small room but they tried and tried and never gave up until it actually entered that space! Show reply
These 'Moving - Chumps' Removalists are no better than other nightmare removalists companies that I have experienced in the past. From my previous lessons learned - I decided to move all my manageable items 'myself' and leave all the major and heavy items for the 'professionals' to struggle with. Good idea right? ...Wrong! These guys don't have… Read more
an established - understood and agreed payment policy and basically leave it in the air... till they are almost finished the job at the last minute . The drivers then began pressuring me to pay them in cash since they don't have eftpos. So! I had to dash into town and find an ATM late in the afternoon after the banks had closed. 1 hour later after a lot of hassle - I came back all flustered with the cash, to find the guys packed up and sitting in the truck wanting to go back to Brisbane 2 hours away and the sun going down. With all this Curfuffle and unneeded pressure - I didn't have time to check if the truck was emptied of ALL its contents (they just confirmed to me it was). They told me to sign the release forms and off they went. 6 weeks later (to my shock ) I find they didn't unload the first item they put on the truck ( an expensive car transmission) which I thought was lost in the clutter of the back shed. It took me 6 weeks to un-clutter the shed and no transmission to be found!. After a complaint to the company- The drivers denied any knowledge of this item . I have only recently realised, that they kept the transmission in the truck as collateral - if I didn't come back with the money! I have now lost a very expensive car part and the company said I signed the release form upon delivery and unloading of all moving items, and as such - they are not responsible! It will cost me more in legal fees for any satisfaction and/or recompense. If I ever move again ( which I am not)... I will follow them everywhere during the packing and unloading process and check off each every God-damned thing, before I sign off any moving release forms ! Be warned! This item was big and heavy and cannot be 'overlooked' ( see photo) Avoid! These guys are shonks

A Deeply Disappointing and Stressful Experience – Avoid Moving Champs I chose Moving Champs based on their advertised claims of being responsive, competitively priced, and professional—impressions that were reinforced by their website to move a… Read more
3Bedroomm home I believed I was hiring a reliable Authentic Australian moving company. Sadly, this was not the case.
Out of the three companies I contacted, Moving Champs was the only one to respond. Their quoted price was similar to others, even though it was advertised as a "special rate"—there was nothing special about it. Unfortunately, that was the only positive part of our experience.
We booked a move from Surferw to Ormeau, originally scheduled for Saturday, then later changed (with agreement) to Friday, June 6. I provided photos of our furniture and large outdoor pots to ensure an accurate quote, and we arranged for someone to come on-site and assess. Oddly, they scheduled this for a Sunday between 4–6 PM. They showed up late and only after multiple follow-ups from my side. did they confirm they were on their way. They took photos, confirmed the job was doable, and we agreed on three men and a 4.5-tonne truck/Bigger if possible, likely needing two trips.
On the day before the move, I was informed the larger truck was unavailable and that a smaller one would be used instead. This was already concerning, but the real issues came on moving day.
Odly again they arrnaged to arrive between 9:30 am and 10:30, as they earlier you can start to beat the traffic would have been more logical. We were ready and waiting from 9:30 AM as agreed. By 10:30, no one had arrived. I called the company and was told someone would get back to me. No one did. After several more attempts, I was finally told they couldn't do the job at all. No explanation initially—just a flat "we can’t come." Only after pushing for an answer did they claim the driver had a fever. Whether true or not, we were left stranded with no help, having already taken time off work and made all arrangements.
Their only offer? Postpone until Saturday. This was unacceptable—we had confirmed the booking in writing and paid a deposit. I explained how their failure had completely disrupted our plans. Their repeated response: “I understand.” But they clearly didn’t. Not once did they offer a viable alternative or any assurance that Saturday would actually go ahead.
Even worse, one staff memeber I spoke with said we are not the movers which imply that Moving Champs is a third-party broker(is this true or not?), something they never disclosed. It would seem they contract out all or some their work and clearly have little control over quality or reliability.
There was zero accountability, poor communication, and no attempt to rectify the situation. In the end, we had to scramble to find another mover at the last minute, which cost us significantly more and caused immense stress.
Our experience was one of emotional and financial strain, caused entirely by this company’s lack of professionalism and integrity. We felt completely let down and would never use Moving Champs again.
If you’re considering hiring them—don’t. Choose a company that takes responsibility, communicates proactively, and delivers on their commitments. Moving Champs failed on all counts.
We Managed to find another company to do the move ,they tried to see if they could do the move Friday at such short notice. These guys sound professional all the way...On my way home they called me to confirm the time they would be their Sat 7am sharp and they were..what a difference a professional Company makes.
Follow-up · Never heard back from these guys, no followup. Nothing changed that would even rometely make me want to consider using them again.

staircase. Truck was packed carefully and there was no damage. The team were polite, efficient and courteous. It was a short distance move that took six hours. I was pleasantly surprised that the contracted time was reduced by the time they had for their lunch break.
Follow-up · Answer to follow up question about unpacking. I packed, moved and unpacked my own boxes. I engaged Moving Champs only for furniture and white goods. They removed and reassembled the legs from a large eight seat dining table to make packing more efficient. Follow-up · I used these movers twice, 1st time was great. 2nd time they came with a truck too small, movers barely had any safety equipment and were throwing things around. At the end of the move one of the drivers literally stood over the door demanding CASH AND a google review before handing over the last of the bits.

DO NOT USE this company!! Moving Champs cancelled the contracted job the night before, citing “truck problems,” and showed absolutely no regard for the disruption and stress this caused. They suggested moving to Sunday, however the strata management doesn’t allow moves on Sundays. I had to look for other movers in a rush. I am still waiting for my deposit to be refunded. Extremely unreliable, don’t waste your time or your money.

Absolutely pathetic service from Moving Champs - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They are only a booking company for removalists, however do not tell you this when you commit to a move with them. the balcony. The removalist wiped his hands of the responsibility even though he had a contract with Moving Champs. Moving Champs told me I had to claim on my insurance despite the fact their contract stated they are responsible for damage due to neglect. Every time I phoned Moving Champs, I would get a different person (all sharing the same phone number & all with an Indian accent!). I had to file a Police Report & still had no success to recover the eventual rebuild repairs of $60k. My strata insurance had to sue Moving Champs insurance. What an absolute nightmare from people who did not care the minute after they phoned to get my money for the move. I should have held onto all my money until this fiasco was sorted out. Please other potential movers, be aware of what could go wrong & then the company completely dismissing you when there is a problem. Fortunately, my new neighbours were very patient & gracious throughout the ordeal (albeit frustrated with Moving Champs, also).

The job was not a hard one, a largish number of not so big items, none of them difficult/breakable. things considered I can recommend Moving Champs.
On the quote: I was in negotiation with another mover, and the price would have been similar had it not been for the crossing the city boundary (Gold coast to Logan). I also could have done it cheaper with someone on the Air Tasker (only one good offer, others were fully aligned with other movers' quotes), but I would have to be the second person. My wife did not allow for that due to my "proverbial negligence".
Moving Champs was able to move one bulky item for us with only a couple of days’ notice and on a competitive price. The removallists were incredibly professional, taking care with both the item and the walls of our narrow hallway. Nik from the customer sales team was also incredibly patient with fielding our questions on the day of the move. Thanks so much for your assistance! Show details · 1
Pros: Was able to respond to urgent request. Quick efficient service. Cons: Overcharged on agreed service. Payment process a bit sketchy. Got the job done on short notice, payment process somewhat soured the experience. Would recommend but be wary of being overcharged from agreed amount.

Beware: Bait-and-Switch, Delays, and Hostage Goods Tactics – Avoid at All Costs I hired Moving Champs for a simple one-day house move on the Gold Coast after a detailed video call where they assured me it could be done in 10 hours for ~$1400 + fees. What followed was a nightmare of incompetence, deception, and aggressive tactics that turned a… Read more
straightforward relocation into a multi-day ordeal costing over 300% more than quoted.
First, the bait-and-switch: Despite the video call (where I showed everything and confirmed feasibility), they arrived 4 hours late on Day 1 with a smaller truck than needed, claiming the job was "larger than anticipated." This forced extra trips and extended the move to 3+ days. They worked excruciatingly slowly, often standing around or taking long breaks, which inflated hours artificially. No disclosure that they use sub-contractors – the team seemed uncoordinated, with constant finger-pointing between movers and the office when issues arose (e.g., "Ask the office" vs. "Movers handle that").
They insisted on daily interim payments, not mentioned in their terms (which state payment "upon completion"). When I refused to pay without an invoice, they withheld them until Day 3, then issued inflated invoices that were double the quote with inaccurate hours. This felt like a deliberate ploy to pressure cash payments without proper records.
The worst: "Hostage Goods" behavior. On Day 3, after disputing the overcharges, they loaded my items, closed the truck, and drove off, refusing to deliver until I paid the disputed amount. This is classic coercion – withholding my personal property to extract inflated fees, which is illegal under Australian Consumer Law as unconscionable conduct.
Communication was circular and dismissive: Office blamed movers, movers blamed office. No accountability for damages (e.g., fridge dented) or my extra costs (penalties for delayed vacating, hiring another mover for $800 to finish).
After emails demanding resolution, they doubled down, claiming "standard practice" despite contradicting their own terms. I offered $2250 "under protest" (160% over quote) to get my stuff back, but no response – forcing me to escalate to OFT and ACCC.
This isn't isolated; reviews elsewhere echo similar scams – late arrivals, small trucks, overcharging, and holding items hostage. If you're considering them, run. Hire a reputable company with fixed quotes and AFRA accreditation instead. Save yourself the stress, time, and money.
Four hours late, multiple calls to the main contact number to then be put through to the local crew who kept palming me off. Two removalist eventually arriving and throwing my belongings and boxes around and down stairs which I have on camera and photo. Hounded to pay removalist via their bsb and banking details otherwise remainder of my… Read more
