Pathetic service. Promises not kept. Was supposed to arrive at 10am. No communication at all. At 4:30pm advised they cannot make it for that day. Shockingly poor service. DO NOT USE THEM
Awful service. Advised them about a specialist move ahead of time and sent pictures. They turned up with a small dolly to move a large and heavy piece of furniture. Took 2 hrs to move one piece and I was left with having to return lifting… Read more
equipment to a storage unit. Complained directly - no response, sent them text messages as that was how we were communicating and they blocked my number! Would not recommend. I wouldn’t give any stars if it were an option. $500 to move one piece 12ks. Terrible.
Follow-up · No response at all from them. Diabolical service. Absolute waste of money. No customer service whatsoever. Zero stars

Was told one price of 140 for moving a small amount of furniture. Guys constantly on their phones took up at least 45 minutes talking or messaging. What should have taken tops 2 hours charged for 3 hours. NEVER AGAIN

Great service. Quick and efficient – Excellent job done by Ricky and assistant. A bed had to be lowered from the balcony- this was carefully prepared and it came down in less than 2 minutes! One sofa bed was complicated to move into a relatively small room but they tried and tried and never gave up until it actually entered that space! Show reply
These 'Moving - Chumps' Removalists are no better than other nightmare removalists companies that I have experienced in the past. From my previous lessons learned - I decided to move all my manageable items 'myself' and leave all the major and heavy items for the 'professionals' to struggle with. Good idea right? ...Wrong! These guys don't have… Read more
an established - understood and agreed payment policy and basically leave it in the air... till they are almost finished the job at the last minute . The drivers then began pressuring me to pay them in cash since they don't have eftpos. So! I had to dash into town and find an ATM late in the afternoon after the banks had closed. 1 hour later after a lot of hassle - I came back all flustered with the cash, to find the guys packed up and sitting in the truck wanting to go back to Brisbane 2 hours away and the sun going down. With all this Curfuffle and unneeded pressure - I didn't have time to check if the truck was emptied of ALL its contents (they just confirmed to me it was). They told me to sign the release forms and off they went. 6 weeks later (to my shock ) I find they didn't unload the first item they put on the truck ( an expensive car transmission) which I thought was lost in the clutter of the back shed. It took me 6 weeks to un-clutter the shed and no transmission to be found!. After a complaint to the company- The drivers denied any knowledge of this item . I have only recently realised, that they kept the transmission in the truck as collateral - if I didn't come back with the money! I have now lost a very expensive car part and the company said I signed the release form upon delivery and unloading of all moving items, and as such - they are not responsible! It will cost me more in legal fees for any satisfaction and/or recompense. If I ever move again ( which I am not)... I will follow them everywhere during the packing and unloading process and check off each every God-damned thing, before I sign off any moving release forms ! Be warned! This item was big and heavy and cannot be 'overlooked' ( see photo) Avoid! These guys are shonks

paid the deposit and it had been received the day before. My recommendation: Shop around and find a better deal.
Follow-up · I'd paid a 50% deposit of $150 by bank transfer, for which I received a receipt. When they demanded the balance before they would leave the premises, they suggested cash, but when I asked whether they'd issue a receipt that was dropped. Not ideal with a double settlement and two small children. Some damage to furniture including a leather sofa which was dropped and we have a large scratch on the corner. When they let us know they were running late (overbooked a morning job) I wrote to the company requesting extra manpower to get it done quicker. They didn’t even bother replying to me and told the two moving guys they weren’t sending help. I would never book with this company again. Terrible experience.
Follow-up · I wrote to the company with a complaint afterwards and they dismissed my concerns with turning up late as already compensated (they knocked off half an hour from the price and held our stuff hostage on the truck when we tried to contest this at 3am so we had it accept it.) they also said we were too late to complain about the furniture damage,… Read more

Guys were meant to come 8-10am arrived around 12pm no explanation at all and I was quoted $370 ended up paying $800. A rip off because they took a 30min break and also went to get petrol after loading their truck even though the move was only a few streets down (2min drive) they took around 30mins doing this also… really not happy with this very… Read more
unprofessional. They took extra long and expected to be paid for their breaks when I was originally quoted $370 for the whole lot. I ended up moving most of my boxes myself and did 5 trips total back and forth with my own car because they took so long and I ended up late to an event I had that night because of their delay and them taking so long. I won’t be going with this company ever again

Moving Champs cancelled the contracted job the night before, citing “truck problems,” and showed absolutely no regard for the disruption and stress this caused. They suggested moving to Sunday, however the strata management doesn’t allow moves on Sundays. I had to look for other movers in a rush. I am still waiting for my deposit to be refunded. Extremely unreliable, don’t waste your time or your money.

Absolutely pathetic service from Moving Champs - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They are only a booking company for removalists, however do not tell you this when you commit to a move with them. the balcony. The removalist wiped his hands of the responsibility even though he had a contract with Moving Champs. Moving Champs told me I had to claim on my insurance despite the fact their contract stated they are responsible for damage due to neglect. Every time I phoned Moving Champs, I would get a different person (all sharing the same phone number & all with an Indian accent!). I had to file a Police Report & still had no success to recover the eventual rebuild repairs of $60k. My strata insurance had to sue Moving Champs insurance. What an absolute nightmare from people who did not care the minute after they phoned to get my money for the move. I should have held onto all my money until this fiasco was sorted out. Please other potential movers, be aware of what could go wrong & then the company completely dismissing you when there is a problem. Fortunately, my new neighbours were very patient & gracious throughout the ordeal (albeit frustrated with Moving Champs, also).

Fantastic job from the movers. In fact they were so punctual as to be earlier than me to the pick-up site. Delivery on the other end went very smoothly. All in all, 5/5 highly recommended. Show reply
The job was not a hard one, a largish number of not so big items, none of them difficult/breakable. The day was hot. * There was no damage, which indicates that packing was good * Time it took was reasonable considering the number of items and the heat * The quote was far better than any other mover provided (see below for some elaboration) All… Read more · 1
things considered I can recommend Moving Champs.
On the quote: I was in negotiation with another mover, and the price would have been similar had it not been for the crossing the city boundary (Gold coast to Logan). I also could have done it cheaper with someone on the Air Tasker (only one good offer, others were fully aligned with other movers' quotes), but I would have to be the second person. My wife did not allow for that due to my "proverbial negligence".
Moving Champs was able to move one bulky item for us with only a couple of days’ notice and on a competitive price. The removallists were incredibly professional, taking care with both the item and the walls of our narrow hallway. Nik from the customer sales team was also incredibly patient with fielding our questions on the day of the move. Thanks so much for your assistance! Show details · 1
Pros: Was able to respond to urgent request. Quick efficient service. Cons: Overcharged on agreed service. Payment process a bit sketchy. Got the job done on short notice, payment process somewhat soured the experience. Would recommend but be wary of being overcharged from agreed amount.

Beware: Bait-and-Switch, Delays, and Hostage Goods Tactics – Avoid at All Costs I hired Moving Champs for a simple one-day house move on the Gold Coast after a detailed video call where they assured me it could be done in 10 hours for ~$1400 + fees. What followed was a nightmare of incompetence, deception, and aggressive tactics that turned a… Read more
straightforward relocation into a multi-day ordeal costing over 300% more than quoted.
First, the bait-and-switch: Despite the video call (where I showed everything and confirmed feasibility), they arrived 4 hours late on Day 1 with a smaller truck than needed, claiming the job was "larger than anticipated." This forced extra trips and extended the move to 3+ days. They worked excruciatingly slowly, often standing around or taking long breaks, which inflated hours artificially. No disclosure that they use sub-contractors – the team seemed uncoordinated, with constant finger-pointing between movers and the office when issues arose (e.g., "Ask the office" vs. "Movers handle that").
They insisted on daily interim payments, not mentioned in their terms (which state payment "upon completion"). When I refused to pay without an invoice, they withheld them until Day 3, then issued inflated invoices that were double the quote with inaccurate hours. This felt like a deliberate ploy to pressure cash payments without proper records.
The worst: "Hostage Goods" behavior. On Day 3, after disputing the overcharges, they loaded my items, closed the truck, and drove off, refusing to deliver until I paid the disputed amount. This is classic coercion – withholding my personal property to extract inflated fees, which is illegal under Australian Consumer Law as unconscionable conduct.
Communication was circular and dismissive: Office blamed movers, movers blamed office. No accountability for damages (e.g., fridge dented) or my extra costs (penalties for delayed vacating, hiring another mover for $800 to finish).
After emails demanding resolution, they doubled down, claiming "standard practice" despite contradicting their own terms. I offered $2250 "under protest" (160% over quote) to get my stuff back, but no response – forcing me to escalate to OFT and ACCC.
This isn't isolated; reviews elsewhere echo similar scams – late arrivals, small trucks, overcharging, and holding items hostage. If you're considering them, run. Hire a reputable company with fixed quotes and AFRA accreditation instead. Save yourself the stress, time, and money.
Four hours late, multiple calls to the main contact number to then be put through to the local crew who kept palming me off. belongings would not be unpacked from the truck, when I actually had to pay the headquarters. Damage to my walls and door ways due to poor workmanship and complete disregard for my home. too far for it to fit through my kitchen doorway. Not their fault, but they tried several ways to get it in. Apologized for not getting it through the doorway but as I said, not their fault. This was a small move of some heavy and fragile items, from a duplex we’ve just sold. Davinder and Surinder were very pleasant and helpful. They were very professional in moving and protecting our furniture etc and in assembling things at their destination. A very good experience. Show reply
Paid the deposit. Sent all the details, bank receipt number to Jason immediately as requested by him. $$ withdrawn from my account. They wasted my next three days saying they couldn't find deposit. There were only five items to be transported. They couldn't find that list and on the set pick up day they changed the arrangement three times Avoid. Slippery and arrogant
Absolutely incredible service, I was able to receive updates on arrival times as well as a check in when pick up had occurred and perfectly timed notice of arrival times. My delivery was not an easy one and the positivity and determination to problem solve did not go unnoticed. Both employees were absolutely lovely to deal with both professionally and just in a human sense. Cannot recommend this service or their employees enough. Show reply
