Well, mine is great… Awesome – My genie has been awesome, never failed or proven to be difficult to use. Starts every time, runs my caravan no problems… I’m so sorry that so many people have experienced bad luck with theirs; but honestly I can’t fault mine. 10/10 Show details ·  1

Inverter help – Had a 3.5kva generator for about 4 years and it hasn’t done a lot of hours but I believe they are discontinued now. Starts fine but won’t produce any power. The overload and output lights are flashing. I believe the inverter has failed. Where can I get replacement parts please? Show details ·  1

Buyers beware! – At the moment North Queensland is in the midst of a developing cyclone and our power has gone out. No worries, I thought, I’ll crank up my 2kva Kings Adventure generator. I went down to the servo to get fresh fuel and got ready to fire up the genny .The generator ran well for about an hour and just on dark it quit. Checked and no spark. Swapped… Read more

for new spark plug and still no spark. This is just the sort of reliability you get from cheap items. As the saying goes, “a poor man pays twice”. As I have been let down before with Chinese made products I should know better. I am from now on not going to buy cheap items. It’s Honda and other well performing products for me from now on and I would advise anyone contemplating to buy gear that you need to rely on to steer clear of Chinese made items like this.

Buyer Beware. Waste of money – I recently bought a 3.5KVA Kings generator from 4wd supacentre. On arrival, I actioned the prescribed start procedure, it stated with a cloud of black smoke, ran for 10 minutes, stopped and hasn't worked since. All my attempts to have 4wd render assistance were without result, they now seem to adopt the startegy of ignoring the problem completely. I would recommend avoiding the product and the supplier. Show details

Kings 3.5kva not a problem – I have been running this generator for over 2 years with my motor home Getting about 14 hours a tank of fuel running a large air con on low Have run the air con, toaster and jug all at the same time, just to push it turned the microwave on (this was pushing it and shut down) for the price and the reliability would buy another in a hart beat Sorry to here about the bad experiences Show details ·  1

Correction of bad other bad review – Just read review about fellow who didn’t like the generator. He was using it to power a 12vdc camping fridge. The 12vdc outlets on just about all portable generators are only a light duty battery charger, not really a good 12vdc supply. In reality who buys a 3.5Kva generator just use the auxiliary 12vdc outlet. If that’s what you want plug a heavy… Read more

duty 12vdc power supply onto the 240vac outlet . The machines primary perpose is a 240vac generator . The 12vdc is just a small auxiliary circuit.

Let there be Light!!!! – My Kings 2.2kva works a dream. During Cyclone Debbie and recent storms, this little Gem ran our house (560ltr fridge, 300ltr freezer, 55”plasma, hot / cold water and charged all the phones and tablets for the neighbors. For the price you couldn’t fault it. Going to upgrade to the 3.5kva and still keep the 2.2 to help others. Cheers  Show details

So far so good – I have always been a believer in "you get what you pay for", however I couldn't not buy this generator when the cost was approx 25% of the brand name competitors. I have used the generator for a total of 5 days bush camping at this stage. It runs the air-con and microwave in my caravan without missing a beat. The unit itself is fairly heavy at… Read more

approx 40kg with oil and fuel, and has a large foot print. The brake on the wheels is largely ornamental in nature, but aside from that the wheels are functional, and it is easy to move on solid surfaces.

Noise from the unit is not overly intrusive, but it is noticeably louder than my friends 1KVA Honda. The noise is not offensive to the ear, and we found tolerable even when running for extended periods, I can see in a close camping situation it may aggravate the neighbours. It tends to respond to changes in load quite smoothly when when running in eco mode, and has a noticable "bark" from the exhaust as the revs increase, but it quickly settles back to baseline.

The unit cost me $625 delivered vs over $3000 for the major brand name competitors, if it lasts >25% as long as its japanese competitors I will be a happy man.

I will update my review later if the situation changes, but at this point in time, it performs as advertised.

Update June 2018 I have now used this generator for 4 months of regular camping. The exhaust noise remains an issue, it is definitely louder than the brand name competitors. I have had no issues with its functionality, it runs everything in my caravan without issue. All in all, I rate this as excellent value for money so far.

Update Jan 2019 - unit developed a fuel leak and was returned to manufacturer, warranty was honored and they have replaced it. They no longer market this generator, and now have a 3KVA model instead.

The upside, absolutely no drama with the warranty claim, they sorted it very quickly. Getting a brand new Geny.
