One of my best buys – My unit has been with me for 2 years now and its excellent performance is still the same. Very useful and practical. I definitely trust this brand and recommend.
Whirlpool extra crisp and grill – This whirlpool microwave takes a long time to heat food, and it burns food , you need gloves to get the food out, it melts utensils, worst microwave I have ever owned, bought a cheaper brand one, which I should have done in the first place Show details
Not as powerful as I would have liked and broke down after 1.5 years – To be honest after using it for 18 months I feel as though it's crisping and other features were not that great - certainly not in comparison with the price charged. It was easy to burn some things because the grill part heated up so well! It also lacked grunt - I shouldn't complain it's an 800w microwave I just assumed the inverter technology… Read more
would make up for that but thats on me.
I purchased from Appliances Online and Arisit (the wholesale supplier) managed the refund process effectively.
I went with a Kmart $125 replacement and am much happier with it's performance.
Great innovative product! – This is a well-built product with an innovate option of crisp and grill. The user-interface is intuitive and using the microwave and its functions is simple. It has a sleek, modern look and given the functionality it is available at a great price-point. The oven heats food evenly and there is plenty of room for a full dinner plate. It's also not overly-loud like some microwaves. Show details
Good while it lasted – This was our 3rd Whirlpool Crisp & Grill microwave having bought our first one back in the 1980s. They've all been great until they eventually died. This one took a little less time to die though. Bought in May 2022 it died in December 2022. I put something in to heat up, pressed the jetstart button and nothing happened. All lights on the… Read more
control panel went out and that was it. Contacted Whirlpool's warranty agents (like a lot of companies they farm their warranty section out to a third party company). They were good and within 24 hours had forwarded a store credit for the original amount paid to the Harvey Norman store where it was purchased. This is sort of ok. It means we can get another microwave but we cannot shop around for a better price and HN know that because they've got the credit. In a way it's really paying HN the warranty claim and they get to make another profit on another product. Also they don't stock this model anymore although other stores and retailers do so all up it's an ok-ish warranty but should be better - much better.
Still, we'll get another Whirlpool because with their Crisp & Grill system they really have been good products. Mind you if the next one fails as quickly as this one there won't be another one.
The next one did fail after 3 years and I will never buy another Whirlpool microwave. They've dropped the ball and cheapened them beyond this consumer's patience.
This is perfect! – The Crisp and Grill Microwave is perfect for cooking, without heating up the whole kitchen! And takes a fraction of the time compared to an oven. The microwave doesn’t stop when the timer ends, but keeps rotating and warming the food. A machine that microwaves, crisps and grills is genius! It also has a cleaning setting which is great. Thank you Whirpool for this little beauty!
Comparing the old with the new – I had a Whirlpool crisp grill microwave for many years and it was absolutely fabulous. However, I replaced the old one with the MWC25BK model and unfortunately it is no where near as good. It takes longer to heat food and the crisp function doesn't crisp as well and takes longer. It is really disappointing as I use it a lot and I wish I hadn't… Read more
bought it now. I never thought I would ever say that. I also preferred the function controls on the old one.
Can't live without it! – With it's easy to use Chef Menu, Quartz Grill and 3D Microwave Distribution system, I was and am pleasantly surprised how good this microwave is! Also looks great on my kitchen bench top! We use regularly on weekends to do the party pies and sausage rolls for the football when we have guests and the food is evenly cooked with great results. Can't recommend this unit enough! Show details
Dangerous fault – Burn marks on the panel where the door closes on the chefs menu, contacted whirlpool, they want me to do all the running around for them, unit is only a few months old. customer service not good at all. After placing comments on Product review, a replacement was sent to my home:) Update : Since use of the replacement, no issues at all great microwave, ordinary customer service until pressured :) Show details
WHAT USE IS IT WITHOUT INSTRUCTIONS – Appalling lack of information on how to actually cook food in it. For the price this shows an uncaring attitude to customers and the product. It doesn't inspire confidence in the brand or the product. Owned it a month, have trawled the internet, I still can't fry or grill a sausage or a steak. Chops cooked on crisp plate were not browned at all;… Read more
putting them under the grill for 10 minutes did not change the colour at all, just overcooked them. WHERE ARE INSTRUCTIONS AND BASIC RECIPES - some are provided in the Indian manual, none in the Aus/NZ manual! The NZ Whirlpool product page "recipes" link has 1 recipe. There isn't even a page on the Aus site. Roast chicken from a YouTube video for this model - un-browned on the sides. How do you make a roast or a pizza look like the ones on the manual cover? The bacon and eggs YouTube recipe works well but why isn't it included in the documentation with the oven? Or at least downloadable from the product page? Where can you get a "small crisp plate" and what is a "steamer kit"? Can any other dishes be used in place of a crisp plate? What utensils can you bake a cake or souffle in, and how to? When can you use aluminium, eg to protect chicken wings from overcooking in a roast? Is there any way to cook or reheat heat a lasagna in aluminium foil tray? What is "stopped turntable rotation" (page 16 manual) and how to do it? Even the "chef menu" lable isn't clear- number 7 is only defrost. Not cook. (There is only 1 that looks like a cook recipe: 19 but I haven't tried it.) Why isn't a copy of the lable in the manual, for people who may not be able to see a shiny lable backlit? 10 minutes grill per side barely coloured thawed hash browns, and even then unevenly - towards the edges of the high rack was missed.
sensationally great! – i love the kaleidoscope of cooking patterns. i had lost a friend of 21 years, LG micro/ convection oven, new mate crispy MWC25 181 units - guess who has a new whirlpool? Show details
Great products – I would like to know does a light come on when cooking to make sure nothing is over cooking. Just purchased one and mine doesn’t. My daughter has the whirlpool different model and the light is nice and bright so I don’t boil the milk over.. Show details

Terrific purchase – We've only had this microwave a few days and are already very impressed. With its crisping and browning features it has opened up lots of possibilities for new recipes and will save us lots of time on some old ones. Looking forward to finding out how much more it can do Show details
Whirlpool Make The Best Microwaves! – Our MWC25BK is an upgrade for the ultra-reliable Swedish-built Whirlpool VIP 27 (M360) Convection Microwave with Crisp Function that has been our meal preparation mainstay for almost two decades. Heavily reliant on the Crisp Function and Food programs for most lunches and dinners, choosing the 25 litre Whirlpool Crisp and Grill was a no-brainer.… Read more
Please note that whilst this is not a convection microwave oven, we have been in no way limited to what we can cook. I love the new unit's design and the way it improves the look of our all-black cooking precinct The controls are logically-set out and clearly labelled with icons and words. Although 2 litres less in volume than its predecessor, the interior cooking space of the new unit is very spacious indeed. On the cooking front, my perception is that the 3D microwave system by virtue of the positioning of the two wave guides (Lower & Upper Right), makes for better cooking efficiency. I have had to reduce my usual cooking times. The Dual Crisp Function is my most used function thus far, having cooked steaks, burgers, bacon and eggs, sausages, grilled cheese-topped tomatoes, salmon cutlets, and pizza to perfection. I love the easy-to-clean finish of the internal cavity. Normally my wider family members opt for convection units, but I was sold on this model by the many favourable reviews, the Whirlpool brand, the Crisp Function and the price-point. My love affair with Whirlpool products continues! I am sure that you'll fall in love with the 25 litre Crisp & Grill (MWC25) microwave oven as we have!
This is great – This is great. Needed a new Microwave Salesman steered us towards this model, it has been the best purchase we have ever made. We use it nearly every day it is great for reheating and the crisp function work really well Show details
Nowhere near as good as my original Whirlpool CrispNGrill VT266 – My previous (first ) Whirlpool microwave was the VT 266. It was my excellent experience with the VT266 which informed my decision to purchase another Whirlpool. However: A: Having to set the time by using +/_ buttons is nuts. Cooking rice for example, I need 6mins plus 3 mins. That’s a lot of button pushing. Whether I use the jetstart button… Read more
to add 30 secs at a time or whether I keep my finger on the + button. B: No way to easily set e.g. 15 or 20 secs - Have to hit Jet start , - , - C: Chef menu, Really – Chef menu button then 21 presses of the + button to get to the Cordon Bleu/Chicken Cutlets. … D: No Chef menu option for fresh vegetables E: Microwave setting is lost once the cooking time is achieved. So, if I want to defrost something, I need to Microwave, then – , -, -, - button to 160w then OK then +,+,+,+,+,+,+,+ etc. to 5mins. Once the time is up, I can’t just enter more time, I have to also re-set the microwave to 160W.
My biggest gripe is the length of time it takes to undertake basic microwave cooking. I use my microwave all the time for meat, vegetables, desserts and drinks . I use my oven for pie baking and my stovetop for white sauce – that’s it. Even a cup of coffee needs 4 x pushes of the jet start button I'm very disappointed. I also sent an email to Whirlpool with this feedback. Not so much as an acknowledgement of receipt. Not impressed Jan.
Must have! Throw out the oven and this is the all in one piece – This looks sleek and sexy in my kitchen. looks small on the outside but very very roomy inside. amazing amount of cooking options. You can even Grill... This has replaced my 18 year old sharp microwave and the technology is mind blowing. Energy efficient and less cooking time then oven but same results. highly recommend. I look forward to using it even more and trying new recipes. Thank you Show details
Even the kids/Hubby can use it!!!! – This is the easiest and fastest way to cook pizza, nuggets, cheese sandwiches, cakes, steaks and so much more!! Everything is perfect every time.... steaks are still soft and juicy not tough and dried out. Everyone in the family can operate the functions with ease and get perfect food every time. Show details
Love my Microwave – I replaced my Whirlpool Microwave after having it for quite a few years. I went for the same brand as I was so happy with it. I am just as happy. I love it. I use the Crisp function all the time. It took me a while to get used to the Defrost Cycle. I’m fine with it now. I don’t use the Chef Function but should and will study it. I would recommend this product to anyone. Show details
My favourite kitchen appliance – I find it really easy to use, but don't use the Chef Menu as I prefer to program it myself. I love the Jet Crisp function and find it really useful for reheating pizzas and pastries. The only annoying function I find is the constant beeping when the program has finished. Show details
Very Low Quality – I am shocked by the quality of this product. The two rear of the four rubber legs are missing, and supposedly, all units in this model are similar. The revolving tray is so wobbly that it stunned me, and overall low-quality steel interior and plastic parts. I've bought new microwaves for $29 that had far better-built quality than this $349 unit. … Read more
I have repacked this unit up and will be returning it first thing tomorrow morning at the store. People, if you don't know how to evaluate product quality, please refrain from writing reviews and misleading other customers.

quickly browning, toasting and/ or cooking from frozen to ready-to-eat in one go, for various types of snack foods. An added bonus is not having to use our traditional oven/ griller for this type of cooking (much slower and more expensive to run). This microwave has become an essential appliance in our kitchen.
Whirlpool Crisp Grill Microwave BEST ON MARKET – We bought this MWC25BK to replace our original Whirlpool crisp grill microwave which was over 20 years old and we are very happy with the new model. We like the Whirlpool Crisp n' Grill so much this is our third one and would never buy anything else. one. Her partner has just given a new microwave to his parents for their birthdays as he is so impressed with the crisp grill function It’s very easy to use. It is better than having a conventional oven. Is quick to heat up and the crisp function is great and it also has a self clean function as well. We've found the Whirlpool 25L Crisp n' Grill microwave to be an almost indispensable and very versatile appliance in our kitchen - and at $399 with its advanced features it is great value. Not only does the Crisp n' Grill operate as a standard microwave, but it also grills and crisps various foods to a perfect golden brown finish in very quick time, without making the food soggy, just fantastic for heating up pies & pasties. We just love making crispy chips on the crisp tray without all the greasy fat, so much healthier There are also extra features like Jet Defrost to defrost frozen food much quicker than a normal microwave, and Chef Menu which defrosts and then cooks/ browns/ crisps food from frozen to ready to eat in a fraction of the time for a normal oven. It is the best amazing microwave on the market and we would recommend it to everyone as we couldn’t live without it
Perfect for my small granny flat! – Bought this to replace my original Whirlpool crisp microwave which was over 20 years old and am very happy with the new model. Nice Product! Love the look and design – I like the crisp function. I used it when cooking potatoes and sausages, they are perfect brown and the taste is not bad. The cook menu function also is good so far I have tried. I used number 4 which is "dinner plate", foot is heated quickly and evenly. I am not quite sure about grill function, have tried few times cooking pork or potatoes but it… Read more
seems not very powerful. Not a big deal, cause I will not use it very often. Generally, I am happy with this buying, would recommend it.
So Happy with my new Microwave – I can now Crackle Pork, which I had no success with in my normal oven. Easy to program and I can now cook a Roast in a fraction of the time.Has to be a big saving on electricity. Casserole cooked perfectly too. I totally recommend to anyone needing a new Microwave.
