Love love love! – I've had my straightener for a couple of weeks now and I love it! Heats up quickly, works like a charm, love the protective heat covers and my comb. I had a GHD for years and years but would never go back. I have curly hair so don't style my hair with heat every day, but I've also noticed using the TrueMe hasn't affected my curl cast when I do style my hair curly. Show details

Ok not amazing – Bought the True.Me Original Hair Straightener after seeing their adverts on Facebook. It’s a ok hair straighter for the price, doesn’t really get hot enough as I use it to curl my hair. The unit I have has something loose internally so it rattles when I move it around.

I have a short bob and would straighten my hair almost daily, so when I read that it had keratin infused plates, I wasn’t worried about long term damage. The customer service is almost amazing, you get a personalise card when it’s delivered and if you ever have questions you will get a super friendly helpful response right away. I love it!

I don’t understand the low rated reviews here, I’ve used almost every brand on the market and none of them have performed as well as trueme. My hair stays straight for days without the need to restyle and my curls last almost a week.

ability to adjust the heat and get that straight sleek finish every girl wants in a straightener at a less than two thirds the price. It heats quickly and and gets the job done efficiently. Without the control of that heat I stuffed around for waaayyy to long with the competitor trying to get results and had to keep going back to touch up as the straightener adjusted the heat to what IT decided my hair needed. What temperature? I didn't even know! I must say the True Me has left me feeling much happier and satisfied with my purchase I just hope it can last the miles!

receive the straightener it is very nicely packed in a high quality box. When you first pick up the straightener you will notice an immediate difference in quality to the brands the marketing hype compares it to. The straightener is very light (a positive for use) but it is cheap feeling in the hand and does not seem to be made out of a good quality plastic. It is worth checking plate size too as the plates may be smaller than what you are used to. The next thing that you will notice is that it rattles, this is apparently part of the motion detection system to shut off when not in use, but seems very unrefined and is disconcerting and quite annoying to hear every time you straighten a piece of hair. Straightening performance was fine - it does the job, but didn’t wow me at all. I personally don’t believe that the plastic that the body of the straightener is made out of has appropriate insulating properties for a hair appliance of this type as the plastic surrounding the plates got extremely hot during use and you definitely need to be aware of it burning you and any surface you place the straightener on (other brands get warm in use, but not to this degree). I found that it curled very nicely, which I believe was from how hot the plastic casing was. Personally I would not have purchased if I had a chance to try before purchasing as quality is more important to me than price, unfortunately I believed the hype that the quality would be the same. Updated review. I tried to keep using this product and to like it. Unfortunately my hair is now very damaged and broken from it and it is in the bin.
