Stihl HSA 45

Battery and electronic products have lower dB noise than petrol ones. So th there is less damage to your hearing and it is easier on the neighbours too. Recently there was a commercial gardener trimming a neighbours hedge at 9pm on Sunday night! The HSA 45 easily cut through the growth in our pitostrum hedge. We only needed a few minutes with a pruning saw to tidy the remainder. Also consider the plug in version of this at around $149. Show details
Just perfect for residential hedge work – I have a number of Stihl power tools and they have never let me down. I was recently exploring a light weight battery powered hedger to compliment my petrol powered unit. While the petrol unit is perfect for tougher jobs and thicker vegetation it was overkill for tip pruning and general maintenance. While in my local stihl store I came across this… Read more
unit. Light weight great and a reported run time of around 40 mins. That is as long a session as you want. I grabbed one and after a number of uses I am in love with it. Typical stihl quality, cuts clean, does not fatigue you like other units and a reasonable price.
Still is really the word! – I purchased one of these battery powered units as my wife figured I had all the power garden tools and she wanted one of her own that was simple and reliable to use. The unit was everything she wanted until it failed to work. Yep it became STILL! We returned it to the selling dealer after less than 10 hours use and he had it for 3 months but was… Read more · 2
kind enough to loan us a similar machine. The dealer rang to say that they finally found the problem and to get it operative again was going to cost $150 and be another 2 weeks. The problem was the electronic module and they could not diagnose the solution until Stihl arranged a module analysis device which could check the functions. The machine is around $380 to buy new including the battery so one could say it has cost us so far $38 per hour to own over the 10 hours usage so far! Not happy and to be frank I will keep the old Honda powered unit which cost a similar price and hasn't missed a beat since day one! When the Stihl Hedger works it is a great machine but to fail at just 10 hours usage is unacceptable.
Excellent Choice for home gardener – I have gone through several electric hedge trimmers, corded and cordless, over the years, but finally I spent a bit more money and acquired one from a reputable brand. This is so much better than anything I’ve had before. It cuts very cleanly, is very light and is so very quiet. I concede I only have a single hedge across the front of our property… Read more
that I am routinely working on, but it’s quite tall and I’m up on a ladder reaching across at full arms length and it gives me no back pain, unlike what occurred with previous heavier appliances. I only seem to use about 25% of a full charge after about 35-40 mins. Bear in mind that the battery is internal, you can’t simply install another battery if you do lose charge, you will have to wait for the unit to recharge.
