You'll definately fall in love! – If you love your coffee as much as I do, you will definately fall in love with this machine! As an ex starbucks barista, it is a very close match to the coffee I recall making all those years ago when there was a massive aussie precence of the brand. The machine is quite clever that it will allow you to fully customise the cup you want - whether… Read more

its hot or cold, half or full shot, its absolutely possible! and these days, pods containing the dairy and added sugar really mean that all youre doing is popping a pod in and pressing go, and you get on with your day!

These days, the cost of living is crazy, and i've worked out the cost of the cup is between the cost of an instant coffee and a cafe one, but of course you get the gift of making this cup quicker than you can tap on your food delivery app!

Try it out, the best part of this machine is the reasonable price!

Does not get any easier – Finally a machine that actually makes hot coffee, not only mildly hot. Ability to adjust drink temperature. Also the drink size all with the touch of a button or turn of a bezel, by the way the bezel design on the main display is genius. Awesome, easy to clean, compact, functional. The style is also modern and easy to use. Pair with a pod… Read more

drawer, your off to no fuss Cafe quality coffee. Starbucks cups just an added bonus. Great for a modern coffee station in your living room. Only 1 draw back, that being the small water tank, but hey that's a first world problem only haha. Do yourself a favour, if your thinking of buying this, just get it.

A Fortunate Misfortune – While on holiday I had the fortunate misfortune of using, for a week, the Nescafe Dolce Gusto Genio. Fortunate because I did not have to purchase it, and hence no verified review marker; but unfortunate because I'd bought pods before trying it. That is not to say the Dolce Gusto isn't without any redeeming features. I have, after all, given it 3… Read more

stars. But it is to say that, if you want a good coffee and want to use pod machines, there are better choices in the market. Indeed, one such option is Nescafe's Nespresso range.

First, the good stuff. It's a compact machine and the water container can be filled from both the top and by removing it. The controls are straightforward, although I pressed a number of buttons before I realised the dial controls the water volume. Finally, the coffee is probably better than instant, but more on that later.

But there are downsides. For starters, this is a single use machine so you manually put in the pods, use it, and remove the pod before putting another one in. There is no dropping of the pod to an internal collection container for later disposal.

The pods, unlike its Nespresso sibling, are not recyclable, and go to add to the landfill where future archaeologists will curse our names. That's probably its worst sin, but this is shared by most pod coffee machines.

The final cut, however, is the coffee. I don't just like good espresso, I love it. The result of the ristretto pods was bitter, with a metallic taste, and had me staring at the cup in two minds if it was even salvageable. I found if one pushed through the maximum water, which dilutes a lot of the harshness, and added milk, you get a drink arguably better than instant. The lactose in the milk, of course, countering the bitterness.

This is a strange result because most of the internals, I suspect, are similar to the Nespresso machines. 15 bar pressure through a thermocoil. So is the difference due to the contents of the pod? The packet of the ristretto states: "Roasted Ground Coffee Capsule", of which the same could be said of the Nespresso pod.

It left me stumped but, in the final analysis, I would recommend either buying a better pod machine, such as Nestlé's Nespresso; or sticking to Nescafe Blend 43 and pocketing the difference.

Great service from Nestle/Nescafé – Have always had a Pod machine from Nescafé. This is our second. Love the convenience of the pods. We recently lost the capsule holder. I phoned Nescafé to enquire where I could purchase a replacement. The gorgeous customer service lady tracked one down for me and said she’d post it to me free of charge !! Wow ! Very rare to find such fantastic… Read more

Cheap And Compact – I purchased the dolce gusto genio S the other day and I recommend avoiding their terrible coffee pods and purchasing the reusable pods off eBay and getting decent ground coffee instead.. But besides that it's a great little compact machine that is easy to operate and doesn't make a bad coffee. Dan Show details

Mini but mighty – This tiny little machine delivers quality hot coffee without taking up a heap of bench space. The options for cup size and heat are perfect and the speed at which it’s able to deliver cafe style coffee is impressive especially for that first morning coffee, when you just can’t wait a second longer!! The coffee pods which are easily found at your… Read more

local supermarket or can be ordered online from dolce gusto for a discount are great. So many varieties available for the what ever your coffee taste may be.

Also it’s so easily transportable!! We’ve taken this machine with us on holidays so we wouldn’t be without our favourite coffee (who can go back to instant after cafe style coffee can be made at home?)

However there is one downside :( the tank only holds enough for about 3 maybe 4 coffees before it needs to be filled but you have to replace water in any other machine so it’s not a deal breaker in my opinion.

This little bad boy has been going strong for over a year now and gets a workout everyday! I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a mini but mighty coffee machine.

Faulty Dial within 2 months of light use – Used it for 2 months to make 2 flat white a day. After 2 months the dial started malfunctioning. The volume dial is behaving weird. I set it to six for flat white but stops dispensing at approx 3. I have descaled and cleaned the nozzle but that didn't resolved the issue. I should have bought the cheaper manual coffee machines. Not sure how the 2yr warranty works and how many times it will break in between! Show details

Great size but not as hot as I would like – I got this unit for the bedroom, I think the dolce gusto is the best of all of them but the machine is a bit average. It does have an extra heating function with an espresso but it locks the dosage size. The conventional self select does not heat it that well in my opinion. If your adding milk, make sure its been heated.. cold milk will diminish… Read more

the energy in this real fast. I bought the machine for the appliance package and binned the Starbucks coffee in favour of what i like to use. So I cant comment on how good that was. The price was great, I got more for my money than expected , but had to hunt around for this because of the covid issue creating supply problems with retail electrical stores.

I have used delonghi dolce gusto machines while staying in bed and breakfast places and they were much better. I could not find any though.

The compact size, looks , function and operation is well thought out.

So... good coffee result , have a microwave on standby if your using cold milk from the fridge.

Great machine, bundle with coffee pods but the supplied tumbler is unusable which is disappointing – I'm very happy with the machine and the way it makes coffee. Pretty much as I expected. Not as good a barista hand made coffee of course, but much better then instant and less fuss then plunger. I got the Starbucks bundle deal with free coffee pods and a Starbucks tumbler. My only issue with the whole purchase is the tumbler is useless. It… Read more

doesn't fit in the machine unless you take the tumbler apart and take the drip tray off the machine. Also once you manage to feel the tumbler it's near impossible to drink out of. Twice I have tried it and I have spilt coffee on myself both times. It will be going in the bin now. Why companies as big as Starbucks and Nescafe bundle a tumbler that doesn't even suit their machines is beyond me. Purchased from Good Guys for $99. For $12 more I could have purchased the bundle from Myer but instead of the tumbler it had a milk frother. Wish I did that much better value for money. Other then that so far I like the machine and the coffee it produces.
