Like others mentioned. Same experience here — the tuning dial is a constant annoyance. Mine died around the same time too. Ended up returning them and going with a different brand, Simolio. Not worth the price imo.

Very fiddly to set up – You have to Tune the headphones with a dial on the side of the earpiece to make them work. This makes it fiddly and you have to tune them regularly. Nothing like a burst of static when you turn them on. to get your attention! Why not have them set up at the factory? Sound is good but not worth the effort or the price. At 18 months old they have died completely so taking them back. Show details

I purchased these for my hearing impaired father for when he comes to visit and watches our TV. He finds them comfortable to wear and the sound quality good enough however I am extremely unhappy with the docking station, its is lightweight, flimsy and almost never charges the headphones. It’s as if the docking station does not always register the… Read more

headphones even when I move the around to try to get them sitting in the exact right position to charge. I would have returned them but my father lost the receipt. In my opinion there is no point purchasing these headphones if you want to ever charge them I am about to throw these in the garbage. You can see from the photos that the headphones aren’t charging because the lights aren’t on

Snap! Crackle! Pop! Is it on? – I bought a pair of these from JB Frankston yesterday, charged overnight and set them up. The manual is extremely poor as it is very unclear. That made set up more of a headache than it needed to be. Tuning is really fiddly and quite a pain. Once tuned, I found the sound quality to be extremely disappointing. The volume is poor. Bass is also… Read more

poor. I played a bluray of Jurassic World Dominion through these and the dinosaur roars and growls were really flat and lifeless.

Worst of all is the SNAP! CRACKLE! POP! that ruins an already poor listening experience. If I move my head a small amount these noises are really bad.

If you are old enough to recall drive-in movie theatres, you'll remember those awful, tinny speakers you'd hang from your car window to hear the movie. They were notorious for how bad they sounded.

Those drive-in speakers would be a step up from these.

The build quality and comfort are superb, but these are not really fit for purpose in my view.

I do not recommend them.

Near perfect. Minor suggestion for design-improvement – I am a HiFi/HighEnd fan - always was. The name "Sennheiser" itself sounds like music in my ears when is comes to headphones. They are the best since decades, as far as I am concerned. Quality has it's price, however with AU$149, I think I got a bargain. Sennheiser vs. Aldi: However, while it was the first wireless headset, which I ever… Read more

bought, my wife wanted to save money and when she was alone in town, she bought a wireless headset (not the bluetooth one, which is only good for a few meters distance) at Aldi for AU$39.

While normally I am a big fan of Aldi-products, that one was utter crap...

Sennheiser promises a frequency range of 22-19500 Hz. If that is true, there is not much to wish for... - and indeed the sound of the headset suggests that this is true. (Obviously 22Hz is the range where you hear low bass, while 19500Hz are pretty high frequencies. Even from a good HiFi Speaker, wired, I would not expect more than 19-22000 Hz.

Back to the Aldi wireless headset: Can't remember the promised frequency range, but the promise was better than these 22-19500Hz...

But the sound of the Alsi headset: Horrible! Definitely a far cry above 22Hz where it starts and nowhere close to 19500Hz.

the Aldi headset was not to listen to music, but for a guessing-game, which music it might be, even so it hardly comes across.

My wife has no ears for music, but even she noticed the difference between the Aldi headset and the Sennheiser I showed her in a shop.

Thus: We returned the Aldi headset and bought 2 Sennheiser.

Sennheiser distance transmission range:

We live on land and I can not verify the promised transmission range of 100m. More like 50m. But I can live with that.

Sennheisser sound:

Very good regarding frequency transmission range: very good as outlines above.

Suggested design improvements:

1. Main reason for buying a long-range wireless headset is, that you want to walk around with is and move.

This is a problem with the Sennheiser as it is: It just slides off your head, when you bent down to e.g. pick something from the ground.

My design improvement: I cut from clear plastic (solid packaging) a strip and fixed it with fishline perpendicular to the existing strip that goes over your head, so that mine goes around the back of your head. Problem solved.

2. Also, from a HiFi/Highend Sennheiser headset I would have expected cushion earpads. The ones provided are crap. But I found on ebay what Sennheiser fails to provide: These earpads to suit this Sennheiser headset can be found on ebay - look for "worldwide":

"Earpads Cushions Replacement For Sennheiser HDR120". not expensive at all. Problem solved.

Quality Headphones – Finally got these headphones set up and working to expectations on my 55 inch Samsung Smart TV. A long tortuous process to connect to the TV's Digital Optical Output and get working. As RS120 11 has only RCA (Red and White) inputs to its base station I purchased a Digital Optical lead $10 and a Digital to Analogue Converter from Jaycar $64.50. The… Read more

Headphones worked on all Sydney TV stations that output sound as Stereo. The HD channels of 7, 9, and 10 which output in Dolby Digital just produced an annoying static. Back to Jaycar to return $64.50 Converter and purchase a $99.95 Digital to Analogue Decoder which handles Dolby Digital as well as Stereo. So now get all channels and can say very happy with the result.

As a byproduct with the addition of 2 piggy back RCA plugs ($3.95 each) into D to A Encoder I have now simultaneously connected the TV's sound to output my legacy (2002 Model) Sony Stereo Speakers.

Needless to say ,starting from little connectivity knowledge, I have learned a hell of a lot in the last week about TV connectivity, and now have a good solution for my intermittent hearing issue.

Good product with some reservations – Very good product with regard to sound quality. Tuning the headphones to the base station can be a bit 'fiddly'. Note that if your TV has only an optical connection you will need to buy an adapter. Show details

Does what it says but having trouble connecting it to the new android tv via the optical cable – These headphones allow a person who is hard of hearing to listen to tv clearly whilst everyone else in the room can hear the tv as normal. These have served our family well for some time but we recently upgraded to an Android tv and it does not have the old cable attachments. This unit has not worked so well now that it has to be connected via the optical input with an optical cable. Its not as effective with new style androids. Show details

OK for the price – Even though the construction of these headphones feels very cheap, they feal a little more durable than other brands in this price band. The sound quality is not bad for the price and they're very easy to install and use. I was specifically after RF wireless headphones as Bluetooth is a bit confusing for the elderly recipient of these headphones. I paid $124 at the time of purchase. Show details

Little disappointed – My model is TR 120 II but i think they are the same? Had an 8 year old Sennheiser head set that cost about $150 back then and this latest model isn't as good. This model has an annoying tune button which sometimes needs to be continuously adjusted to get rid of "crackling". The older headphones had ear muff type speakers, the new ones have flat… Read more

Great sound but…..terrible instructions – These have got great sound, but if something goes wrong like the lights that are suppose to turn on or off don’t work, the instructions to fix any problem is terrible. They are expensive headphones and there shouldn’t be so many problems. I’ve only had mine for about 6 weeks and suddenly they wont charge. Show details

Unusable – When sound is low or silent on tv, the transmitter shuts down (this is done on purpose by sennheiser) and you get an earful of white noise at full volume. My old Mum has a pair of Phillips but she keeps breaking them so these are a fill in while I repair the Phillips. They were only tested when I got them and they seemed fine, it was only recently that she broke the Phillips again they were put into proper service, and failed miserably. Show details

Good headphones - trouble free to use – These do a great job for me - they are comfortable to wear and light enough to forget once they are on. The wireless connection is rock solid and doesn't drift at all. I put some quality rechargeables in the headset when I bought them and it auto recharges every time they go back to the base , so they are always charged up. Sound quality is probably not audiophile standard but its very, very good and all I need.  Show details

Better than ever – For sound and comfort I would rate them a high five.I really like these headphones; the clarity of sound is amazing. Surround sound is very strong, the sound field is very plump, the instrument separation is fine, the harmony part can be clearly heard each tone, sound restoration is very real, rich in detail and listening, the real good, listen to music is also very good.  Show details

A great headphones – I like that the charger is integrated directly into the base and that the simple act of hanging the headphones back on the cradle pretty much guarantees a charge, since it's pretty hard to miss getting the charging plates to connect. head as some others, which is especially nice since I wear glasses and some large headphones can be uncomfortable with those.

Setup was a breeze and I've never had any issues with them not working clearly. The only minor complaint I have - and I don't know if this is a function of my setup or by design - is that if you pause what you're watching, the transmitter times out after a short time (I've never timed it, but just a few minutes) and I then get loud static through the headphones until I switch them off. I'd like it if I didn't get the static, but it's not a major issue.

Long Lasting & Good Overall Quality – These are getting on for two years old now and no signs of wear at all. They are literally worn every day for hours at a time. Disappointed – Although I’m a fan of sennheisar head phones, I was disappointed to find this particular product not working at all after a month. At first it worked well, and the sound quality was great. It didn’t take long though to find it completely mute and consequently useless. think about them again. They are always charged from being on the base and always go all night. The signal is strong and clear. If I go into the kitchen, I get one spot where there is static but I can pretty much walk anywhere inside and still be in range. Great if looked after. Go buy one. Properly Great sounding On Ear type muffs – Best quality to value readily avail in Oz. Fab Soundz really! But leaks sound as not fully enclosed.
