Lasted 11 years – After 11 years of use, our fridge died yesterday. Called up Samsung who referred me to the samsung repair plaza. I was quoted $160 for a callout fee and was told Samsung only manufacture parts for 5 years, so parts most likely won't be available. Called up an independent fridge repairer who mentioned that it sounds like a major problem.
Need to look for a new fridge now. Samsung is definitely off my list for all home appliances.
Brilliant Fridge – Easy to use, good storage, modern and we haven't had any issues. I'd highly recommend this fridge/freezer if not for great quality definitely for the ice and water dispenser its so good, especially in the summer I dont think we could ever go back now. OK – Good fridge now and suits us, but Samsung service needs a big kick. We have since bought other major items (plasma, aircon etc), but didn't even consider Samsung because of the non existent service. received more sales from us, no return of our friend's fridge and other friends of both families may have not been put off as well. Bad call. Ours is the SRS579NP previous model. Had it for years now. Economical to run, easy to clean, good space and the pewter finish looks good. While the fridge is good the service is very poor. We had a problem twice under warranty of the fridge fan freezing up (rattly noise and eventually not working), and each time they claimed that they had never heard of such a thing and it was our fault. Friends bought the same fridge and had the exact same problem, but eventually got the retailer to swap it with another brand. I had the temperature set at 2 degrees (as per the book) but once I set it at 4 degrees the problem went away. Only cost us the $100 service fee but would have cost them much more over time.
Good – nice size fridge for 3-4 people , good size inside , freezer is decent size glad we didnt go for inbuilt water takes up too much room. The blue temp control on front looks groovy . The look of the fridge very nice , metalic colour is easy clean ,good size only 1 thing non adjustable door shelves for lrge drink bottles
