Avoid any Piaggio vehicle in Australia – Avoid any Piaggio products in Australia. My scooter has been 3 months in the workshops following a road accident and all I'm getting are lies! They don't tell you the truth because they are liars but I found out that the spare parts are NOT available even so the scooter is made in Vietnam. There must be a problem with both the Australian… Read more

distributor and the unprofessional dealer, they are both in the same business and they won't tell you what is happening. Don't get caught in the same Piaggio Australia trap because you'll have to pay a lawyer in order to get your scooter back plus you wait many months!

Does everything i need it to – Purchased a 2021 Medley S a few weeks ago as I am chalking up 500km a week riding to work and back. Whilst it's a massive downgrade from my Trumpy the bike does everything I need it to do, will do 100 on the freeway which keeps me out of trouble but thrives in the 60-80km range, also nimble enough to get me through major roadworks a bit faster.… Read more

Great fuel economy even with 125kg on it. Brakes and halogen lights both work very well and dash is awesome. As most others stated it has ample room under the seat and a shopping hook which comes in handy when I stop to get some groceries on the way home. It's not going to win any speed awards but overall a great bike.

Good scooter, limited top speed – I have a well kept fully serviced Medley150cc here in Australia. The Build quality, acceleration, space under seat are all very good. The one big thing it falls down is top speed. It has almost 11kw and it will not exceed 100kph. I checked with the Piaggio dealer Scooter Central where I purchased it from and the technician advised that is about… Read more

it’s top speed. Very disappointing and will stick with my older 150cc that will sit on 110kph for my short stints on motorways.

Piaggio Medley S - a commuter’s pleasure – I’ve owned my Medley S for almost 3 months now and really cannot fault it as a ride. This is an easy to ride unit, with enough poke to keep you away from idiots. Brakes well, handles well, and even at freeway speeds of 90+ it feels stable and predicable. Using for my daily commute in inner city Sydney is a joy, even if I can only get 30k/litre.… Read more

Riding out of the Sydney gladiatorial battle is even better.

Storage is good, haven’t needed to get a top box (yet). The first 1000k service was painless, and 10k km service intervals seem to be reasonable.

Issues? The front ‘glovebox’ is tricky to use. Can’t really open it with the keys in (necessary to open) and closing is worse. Some engineer didn’t think that one through: we always have something attached to the key. Second is the connectivity. This scooter is advertised as having connectivity to an app and with a phone. Not in Australia it seems. Couldn’t get a straight answer from the dealer, no response from Piaggio either. Pretty cr@p if you can’t be bothered to have a local edition of your advertising brochures… Now I’m setup with a good helmet and coms, it isn’t an issue.

All up, if you are after a great small scooter, you won’t go wrong with the Medley S.

Surprisingly good – I was looking for a new 2020 150cc scooter for the urban area that had good storage space under the seat, floor carrying capacity with curry hook ie no lump between the knees and 'larger' wheels. Looked at Honda and Yamaha, but didn't meet the criteria. Medley S had it all, I took a chance dubious about being 'made in Vietnam'. Having owned many… Read more

different motorcycles/scooters I was surprised the Medley is among the best, comparable to Japanese made. Robust pillion fold way footrests (unlike my previous scoot). Lights, brakes, pillion/shopping carrying, side/centre stand, paint job all good. Quick, light and nimble, quality is first class, hard to complain about anything.

Unquestionably the best small scooter on the market – I purchased my Medley S in march 2019 as a support to my 500cc scooter mainly for shorter trips and fuel economy. The medley has exceeded my expectations. Mine is standard except for a Shad 34 litre top box which I rarely use as there is so much space under the seat. The seat release is well placed easy to use and promotes use of the space beneath… Read more

meaning that I rarely leave my helmet and gloves on the seat when away from the bike. My fuel consumption has been consistent at 40ks to the litre even allowing for the occasional freeway blast where even with my 103 kilo weight on board 100kph is easily achieved and rock steady. The stop start function works very well although it takes some time to kick in when the weather is very cold. Lights are very good and brakes excellent. I have not needed the ABS function but its good to know its there. The scoot has a side stand and a centre stand which is rare for small scooter and is a definite safety feature. All in all the medley is a superb midrange scooter and although not the cheapest on the market well worth the money. I paid $6000 ride away which included the Top Box

By far the best scooter I have owned – Huge space under the seat. I can store my helmet and jacket in there easily. And can fit laptop in when I’m riding to work. It is super smooth, handles incredibly well. Nimble in traffic. Good amount of power. Easily enough to ride 2 up. Awesome build quality. And quiet as well. Very happy. Show details

Amazing unit – An incredible piece of automotive engineering. Perfect in the city, returning 40km/L, while the real surprise is that it is capable of touring; holding a constant 110km/hr and returning a respectable minimum of 22km/L. I've crossed the Nullarbor twice on this scooter, much to the bemusement of 4 wheel drivers. Some of the good points: No screen… Read more

is required. No top box is required. You can strap cartons/items onto the back easily. There is enough poke from the lights. The Engine stop tech is genius (why you would choose to turn it off with a switch...). The headlight is brilliant - excellent low beam, high beam and dual (clever push switch). Two full face helmets do fit under the seat (be selective). The engine rev. limiter kicks in at 115km/hr - you won't be caught speeding on the highway. Cheap tyres - Michelins and Pirellis are under $100. A key immobiliser is standard. Long service intervals - around $600 (that's cheap!) every 10000kms. 5000km services are just checks (optional). ABS is standard. (I hope I never have to use it as the brakes are very good, but it's nice to know it's there.) Very clever tech. without going over board (road ice warning when the temperature goes below 3deg C). When you run out of fuel you get a few spurts that'll give you another 3 kms.

In conclusion, thank god there are people out there designing products this good.

Well built and good performing metro commuter – Took out a Piaggio Medley for ride home in peak hour Adelaide traffic. Being a two wheeled enthusiast, I've always admired the practical advantage a scooter has over a bike for commuting. I'm still not 100% sure if a scooter is necessarily a lot cheaper than a motorbike. Servicing cost for the Piaggio Fly was quoted to me at $265 for the 1000km… Read more

service, $365 for the 6000km service and around $600 for a major service incl. belts etc. I gave you the Fly cost because the Medley is newer and they couldn't give me figures as they haven't serviced any yet but said this would be a very good guide. The Medley has longer service intervals than the fly at 10000km though.

So minor services are about the same as a motorbike but the major services are more compared to the four main Jap brands excluding bikes like the VFR.

The power on the Medley is really good. Pulls nicely away from the lights to get away from traffic, hills don't deter it either. I didn't take it past 80 so couldn't tell you how it performs beyond that but I was really impressed with it's power.

It handles really well, the tyre size is really good and the bike feels well suspended. Brakes are fine, no issues there and the overall fit and finish is a really high quality. As expected it is easy to ride, filters well, is extremely nimble and really precise in its steering.

Storage is very good for small capacity scooter, I have a large full size helmet which fit in the front of the storage area......just. I'm not sure 2 large helmets would fit but most riders wouldn't need that.

I like the look of it, it's a classy looking scooter rather than sporty.

My only gripe was the seat height. I'm 179cm, (5'10") and I could only get the balls of both feet down unless I slid forward to the skinny part of the seat.

It's going to set you back around 5 and half grand on the road (SA) which isn't too bad for what you get (I'll let you google the specs). Not many small capacity scooters have ABS either.

If I was in the market for a scooter for short distance commuting I would consider it, though it's hard to knock back the Piaggio Fly that has a very similar motor minus ABS, 2.3 KW and less under seat storage for about $1800 less. $1800 buys you about 5 years of petrol for a Fly! (not kidding).

The Medley is a better scooter than the Fly though and is worth the extra if you've got it and don't mind the seat height.
