hob......This was caused by the warping of the aluminium hob, not sitting on the stainless steel outlet flatly. A replacement unit was $252, + postage......that's crazy!! I could almost buy a new cooktop for that price. A much more palatable alternative, was to just buy the aluminium base at $88....still pricey, but affordable (just). It took patience and about 45min but the results were perfect. A quick clean or the brass fittings with a wire brush, and it slotted right together and sat on the cooktop easily. I love my Ilve oven, and if you look after it, it will last a very long time.
