We’ve been feeding our indoor rescues this product for years. 8kg easily fed 11 cats for just over 3 weeks via slow-feeder grazing. Our last few lots have been running out before 2 weeks. I finally checked & sure enough, the formula has changed to something that is not satisfying the cats the way it used to. I know from experience that I… Read more
can buy cheaper brands that last the same length of time as this new formula.
We’ve changed back to Royal Canin.
I would say that when it comes to pet foods, I’d rather see a price rise while maintaining high quality than changing to lesser quality ingredients to keep the price the same.
It’s ridiculous that Hill’s thought pet owners wouldn’t notice the change in their pets on a new formula, especially cats.
cat will not eat it – my cat eats nearly anything i give it except this. the look on its face was bad and it walked backwards to get away Show details
My cat hates it – After endless search on food to help my kitty who cannot tolerate most Pre packaged food. The vet highly recommended this, including Hills wet Food for Sensitive stomachs. We bought plenty, but he won't touch it.. he goes hours without eating or days if i left him.. not sure what's in it, but clearly not good. Not for my boy. Raw diet, it seems to work Show details
The best cat food ever! – My senior girl is 15 years old Birman breed of cat. She has had digestive issues with a sensitive stomach and digestion hairballs. Since starting on the Hills Science sensitive stomach and skin her health has improved considerably. She seems a lot happier and more playful and more settled. She has formed poo and her coat is shiny and healthy and… Read more
she doesn’t seem to lose as much fur as she used to. Overall she is one happy cat! So glad I decided to give this a try for her.
Love this brand!! – I love this brand, yes it costs a bit more but it actually works, I find my cats number 2's don't drink the place out when they have Hills cat food, when they have other brands you can certainly notice the difference. My cat enjoys it and doesn't seem to upset her tummy like other brands as well. I like that it has all the nutrients she needs in just the dry food. Show details
good product – This is a really good product and my lill one has been using it for quite some time. I switched to another product in between but was v quick in switching back to this one. Her stool is very dry with this one and there is v lill smell. Would highly recommend this.
My Ragdoll x Persian x Maincoon loves this food – My kitty has just recently started on this hairball dry food under my vets advice as she was always vomiting up hairballs from her having such a long coat. She has taken to this food well with minimal hairballs now. She loves the taste, and it doesn't make her toilet smell either when she goes.
Hairball control. Palatable long term dietary solution for indoor long hair cats – Our Burman cat likes this product and has been on it for 10 years now migrating to mature formulation at approx 7 yrs. It is not messy or smelly and produces a firm dry stool which has little odor. We top up food bowl and fresh water daily and we sometimes hear him feeding during night time which seems to be his preferred pattern. He lives… Read more
indoors only so we didn't want problems with dietary upsets and resulting messes indoors, and this product has not let us down at all.
The cats weight has remained consistent over long period and even though he protests if the level of food in bowl drops below 1/4 full he doesn't seem to over-eat when the bowl is filled.
The hairball control component aids in the binding and passing of ingested hair which is a constant issue with this type of cat due to self grooming.
Occasionally the hairballs are regurgitated so diet has not been 100% effective as hairball elimination but I am satisfied that the hairball regurgitation issue would have been constant problem instead of occasional issue ie, occurs each 7 to 10 days on average with our cat, requiring manual cleanup.
If we hear him trying to cough one up it results in a mad scramble to find him and remove him to laundry or screened room where resulting mess is easier to clean up rather than carpeted areas.
Over time cats food consumption has remained consistent and a pack lasts him 28 days.
I recommend keeping pack sealed between use to preserve freshness / taste. Does what it claims, is ecconomical compared to alternatives, doesn't cause digestive upsets, produces small, dry, firm stools. Our cat has never been sick in all the years we have been using this cat food product and he likes it too, this is a perfect product in my opinion. Nothing to mention except the loyalty program being discontinued, whereby a free pack was earned about every 10th pack purchased thu vet.
