1 Kay O.  · Worst customer service, beautcratic and huge wait times. They hang up on you when they do not want to answer your questions.
1 James  · Did nothing but take fees, and then another 10K to move away from them. Useless.
1 Cody B.  · Do not Sign up with these people – Took me two weeks to shut down the account, plus all these hidden fees
1 jihad  · Bad performance – I have been with BT super for the past 3 years and have only been losing value of my super , very bad investment stay away
1 Raelene  · SUPER STEALERS – Since rolling over all my funds to BT Super the balance has continued to decrease. Customer care factor ZERO. Not happy!!
1 leelee  · Avoid!!! – Shocking service. My balance is now below zero although I had a few $$$$ there in 2014. I can't recommend this as a super fund. Go elsewhere.

I’m lucky enough to be migrated to a BT Panorama full feature package from Asgard, and will now be paying over $1000 a year in extra fees. Sounds like a win-win for everybody except me. I shall now be assessing a more improved and less thieving (after their 2021 fines) Superannuation provider.

Don't use ** I was with Asgard Super, taken over by BT etc. Now I'm ready to retire and there are no Super accounts suitable for my retirement so I'm forced to move my funds and the costs associated with that = loss of thousands. Customer service… Read more

is pathetic even after they find out what you've had for breakfast, and then they say you need a Financial Planner to make any changes for you to any other account. So I have no control over where my money goes unless I pay for Financial Planner = cost. Absolute rip off.

Follow-up  · Like any term accounts if you remove money before end of term you lose what could have been. Advice after finding out what I'd had for breakfast so to speak and jumping through hoops equated to any account we have that ONLY as an existing customer you could enter, you can't do it yourself. You have to employ a Financial Planner to tell you what… Read more

Suspicious premium charged on the day of rollover and account closure – I've been with BT for 1.5 years and after reading the recent comparisons and checking my own account I realised how bad their return has been. For this reason I joined a different super just recently who took care of the rollover and what do I see on the day of rollover and my account closing? A suspicious Insurance Premium fee being charged… Read more

eventhough I never took insurance with them in the first place. It was only $5.09, but multiply this by thousands of people leaving BT and it adds up. My account was closed instantly after due to rollover being completed, I emailed to enquire about the fee and they never answered. I sense some fraudulent activity here. I'm simply glad I realised soon enough and changed super promptly, compared to some of the horror stories of other customers. Avoid.

Down time during trading hours – Bt seems to always have there downtime for maintenance over the weekend which finishes Monday or Tuesdays cutting into trading hours, I find this highly annoying not being able to trade because of maintenance and have lost money because of this, I am leaving Bt because of this, I have told them my concerns, but still have down time during trading… Read more

hours.... And if it's not maintenance it's just flat out broken. Don't sign up to BT you'll be disappointed

Negative Star - Rip off & scammers - stay away if you don't want your money stolen – BT super switched to some fund without my consent and my super fund plunged 21.62% in just four three business days. They switched to new account on 12th March, and balance as at 16th march stands 21.62 percent down. I will let the below image show the reality.

Excellent Customer Service – Have always been extremely happy with BT and my earnings but closed my account due to investing in a property. J Naylor went above and beyond to ensure that my funds were cleared before settlement after a hiccup with the accountant assisting us. Not sure why the bad reviews on here as I have had a brilliant experience with them. Show details

Excellent service during this difficult time – Have been with BT Super for 5 years and have found their service of a high standard with options that work well. Recently called to clarify my position and lower my risk. Although there was a little wait, the service I received was helpful and positive, and my request was immediately put into effect. I'm very happy with BT

I Spoke with Paige at BT Super – I have been with BT for 10 years and the performance was no different to my other super fund with another company same returns the share & money markets the last couple of years have been up and down like a bookie. The reason for my review was I recently withdrew my super as I am retired now and I spoke with a young lady named Paige very helpful… Read more

she told me my super would take 5 to 10 days to be in my bank account and then I started reading all the reviews about BT & my belly sunk I thought it is going to be a nightmare getting my money from BT so I rang again and was assured all was on track and it was on the 5th day all my money was in my bank account as promised Thank You Paige your employer should be proud to have you as an employee.

Horrible customer service – Absolutely disgusted with this company. Trying to get a redemption on our investment is almost impossible. Everytime we call we get different information. They say they will call back and they never do. Aside from the loss made on our investment, we are just so upset over the poor customer service and the lack of care for their customers. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Dreadful customer service from BT Super – In May 2024 in acknowledgment of an error, BT offered a Remediation payment via an email asking me to confirm my bank details for payment which I was very happy to do. In August 2024 I received an email confirming this payment had paid. This prompted me to check and saw that it in fact hadn’t been. I phoned them and was told that because no bank… Read more

account was linked to my account it had been paid to the ATO and was given some information about how to reclaim the money. This information proved to be incorrect. Upon checking my deleted emails I found the two in question and went through the slow process of calling BT a second time where after painstakingly telling my story again the operator asked me to hold where after waiting several minutes he hung up on me.

BT Panorama - very poor service – Had lodged POA documents which I was told by BT on phone were loaded and accepted. Subsequently I was advised balance on my Dads portfolio and also guided whilst on phone, to logging in to the app and changing password. A week after I called BT back for advice to close out Dads holdings and have them put into his linked account. Again no issues… Read more

aside from being told to put in a transfer of financial planner form along with the withdrawal/ closure form, and was told to sign in both places as I was Dads POA in system. I asked how long it would take to receive funds as I needed to pay to Dads aged care provider asap. The representative advised me to lodge forms and call back a couple of days after, to request a nominal expedited payment of cash on hand in their account, the balance could take a few weeks thereafter whilst the Financial administrator sells shares. I called back, no issues, they advised they had more cash on hand than in the previous week and the financial planner administrator must have already divested some shares. They transferred what they had (about 80% of Dads valued holdings) within a day which was great. Then an issue arose 3 weeks later when the financial administrator was advised there was no POA lodged on their files and they couldn’t complete divestment of funds to close out Dads account. The financial planner contacted me, I called BT today and for the first time I had a very bad experience with them. The call taker advised I was not on file, he would not concede that by looking at the caller history on the account that I’d been given access to private information, logins and they had also transferred some funds through to my Dad based on my app to close account, based on my nomination of new financial planner to administer. He advised he to get my Dad to contact them (I reiterated he has Alzheimers and cannot which is why I have to act on his behalf) or get the prior financial planner associated with Dads account to contact them to finalise. I reiterated that the prior financial planner hasn’t practiced in Australia for a few years and I transferred to new planner as it was a BT requirement for a financial planner to be in place to facilitate withdrawal/ divestment and close of account. I asked could the call taker escalate to see what has happened and he advised nothing is on file therefore this was not part of their process. How he could not see laterally that this makes no sense given my access for the past 6-7 weeks to information and so on. He than said I could lodge an POA appeal form. I asked how is it logical to lodge a POA appeal form when you claim not to have the lodged POA in the first place and I’ve only been advised you had it, it was uploaded and it was accepted. I feel as if they are making it difficult to close out the account on purpose. I asked to speak to a manager 3 times during the call and was denied. This is very distressing as I’m unwell myself and am trying my best to handle Dads affairs when I’ve Tye energy to do so. The financial planner is very kind and said they will try again themselves to see if they can get a more helpful person to try to resolve this at BT. If not I’ll lodge a complaint to Australian Financial Complaints Authority- I’ll never never consider BT to hold any of my super etc in the future and after the complete nonsense I’ve experienced, and what I’ve read online from other consumers - I do not trust them.

Still in my life – BT Financial Group is still sending me their rubbish after not being with them since January 2019. It is now 5 years since I left them for Hostplus and they still are bothering me. What an incompetent group. All they have to do is send me a bank cheque for the money they owe me; but no that is too difficult for them. Please leave me alone. BT can keep the money they owe me but GET OUT OF MY LIFE.

hopeless – wasted half an hour trying to update contact details. Directed by BT to update using online consultant, waited in cue, requested 'need to change mobile number 3 times' - apparently they don't reed that 'chat', then informed I would need to call to do that - DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THESE IDIOTS Show details

Worst fund ever – Double dipping on my insurance fees. When I emailed them about the issue I was told it was okay I could make 2 claims. In the same period I lost a substantial amount on the amount of super invested. Would never recommend BT to anyone

Worst customer service – Worst customer service, very frequently they merge with other company and your existing account will be disappeared without any notification, employer cannot remit your super. You have to chase for new USI ID, lot of issues with BT super.

Stay away at all costs – My investments and Superannuation was invested via my Financial planner. BT are arrogant and customer service is zero. Performance is bad and 6 weeks still waiting for super rollover and account closure of investment account. You can do better elsewhere and wished I had researched more before investing with them.

Horrendous in all areas – Money grab, high fees for nil work. When you want to move on they slow it down to be annoying and want all sorts of information from you to prove who you are after sticking it to you for months. They just cannot accept they are no good. Their disclaimer line is.....past performance is not an indication of future performance!!! If this is how they… Read more

perform then it surely is an indication of how they will always perform. I gave them feedback now they block me very childish. They can't handle the truth and really don't want feedback. Stay away...zero stars.

Worst fund ever ! Beware – I started the switch to another fund 5 weeks ago . This should not be a hard process , people do it all the time . Still not completed . Worst financial decision ever made was to listen to a financial adviser who invested my super with this sham of a company . Will be glad to be rid of them .

Worst platform and borderline illegal – At random times the platform blocks you from selling investments, both on app as on website, it takes them up to 10 days to resolve by which the trade you wanted to make is no longer a good trade. I have lost thousands of dollars without compensation. This has now happened 2 times so I want to close my account but again the platform doesn’t allow… Read more

Shocking customer service – I have been with BT for over 10 years now and have been to loyal, even when they have under performing. The shocking service and ego driven arrogance I just received via phone conversation from an employee Ben and his manager Kenneth, mean I have decided once the issue is sorted I will be leaving BT for good. They need to train their managers in… Read more

Really Bad Performance – I've been with BT Super since 2013 and went with them as they are a Westpac company. I selected the 1940's lifestyle package for some security and some growth given my age. Alarm bells rang for me when BT 'updated' its website and no longer showed the trending graph for my investment and I felt they were dismissive when I phoned to ask why. For… Read more

the past weeks I've watched my relatively small amount of capital decrease by 10K and each day it continues to decrease. I do not have confidence in them seemingly flick-passing my super to Mercer. Interestingly I am now receiving regular emails etc from BT which I can only interpret as ongoing warning bells. I'm now looking at where else I can put my Super (and my trust). My only advice to those of retirement age (or indeed any age) is to stay clear of BT.

Lamentable and contemptible – I was with this fund more several years, more for convenience than anything else as it was associated with my bank. The BT Super for Life fund has been rated as a substandard performer twice now and I was already making plans to join another fund when I received a letter (an actual paper letter in the post) prepared August 31, posted September 12… Read more

and received September 29. This reported the poor performance, outlined the proposed merger with Mercer and suggested perhaps finding another fund to invest in. By this time the fund was in free-fall and my super was already down -5K, followed by approximately -2K each subsequent day until until the roll-over to another fund was completed. When contacted I was advised that "the markets are down and there's a war on...". I haven't figured-out what the play is yet but can say that the mis-management, poor returns, disdain and outright contempt with which they treat their customer's investments is simply breathtaking.

Extremely Poor Investment – BT Superfund has cost me $1000s of dollars in loss super due to their poor investment over the last few years. I am extremely dissatisfied in their services and can’t believe they have been allowed to operate with peoples life savings. Stay away from them, DO NOT invest your money with this company.

Put your money elsewhere – Put into this fund by a Financial Advisor at Covid low. Market rose 40% and my fund rose 3%pa. Then they appeared to charge fees for closure due to underperformance.
