starts well every time. It's so basic that doesn't require much maintenance (oil gets black and thick very quickly though, we change it every 20-30hrs to be safe, and it's a pain, read below).
A few regrets: 1) The plastic trim on the rhs is badly designed: it covers the 'window' that let's you check the oil level (I drilled a hole, see photo) and doesn't let you access the filler cap that also acts as a dip stick (see photo). So any oil change requires to remove and put back 8 bolts. On the other hand, the plastic trim on the other side is fully open when there's nothing to access! 2) The final gear is too long, forcing us to slip the clutch a lot to take off and uphills challenging with a passenger, even in 1st gear. And we rarely use 3rd gear and I don't even know if there's a 4th. Haven't found a bigger Sprocket for it yet, but will keep looking. Oh yeah: the 4 bolts holding the rear sprocket snapped! Not a big job to replace, maybe they are meant to act like fuses?
Amazing – i am only 11 years old and i have driven many Quads but by far this is my favourite one i liked it so much i bought my own and and the farm it has no issues so i recommend this Quad for every farmer Show details

Two wheel drive sport quads are good on sand - that's about it. Farm quads aren't sporty enough. This is the perfect crossover. 4wd and goes anywhere. It's a shame BRP don't import the 800 still. From what I've read the 1000 is just too powerful. as above. handle bars are a bit low, a higher bend or bar raisers may be necessary for taller people.

through....... Everything mud marsh, chail rock ultra fine beach sand, fresh water mud runs, and literally everything. The two things that I would change in the bike is the visco lok for a start. ( they have actually fix this with the new qe ) the 07 lock takes way too long to take up and by then you are bogged. When riding thorough water crossings I found the cvt slips but I think you can fix this quite easily. I have changed my pipes to the looney tunes dual pipes. Wicked sound and very good power increase. I also changed the stock carlisie badlands tires to maxis bighorns. I have ridden the outlander in 45 to 48 degrees celcius weather and have not had a problem with overheating. For a standard bike the outlander will demolish 95% of utility quads and 80% sport quads in A drag race. For ultra tough terrain I went through with a grizzly 700 and my mate had a much easier time than myself due to his full locking front differential. The visco lok plus 800 cc of grunt does make for an easy time. ( have not. Ridden the new quads with qe visco lok but it seems to have fix the problem). Truly awesome power and handling reliability Brakes and visco lok
great goer, rough rider – I have owned my Atomik Frontier for 3 years now and it still runs as well as the day i bought it! It has been used as a recreational bike, doing jobs… Read more
such as towing, carrying, racing and high-speed runs, but mainly low-rpm use.
Pro's:
Handling; has surprised me with levels of grip.
Capability; has climbed up many muddy and slippery hills, hard to get bogged, especially since both rear wheels are constantly locked.
Fuel Consumption: Can go surprisingly far on one tank, yet no reserve.
Power; great for recreational use, plenty for a good time!
Stopping Distance; fantastic, pulls up really well, but after a few years there is a brake issue (below).
Durability; runs like clockwork, but rugged and reliable.
Price; I paid only $1000 AUD for mine! Can't go wrong!
And now for the Con's:
Clutch; Does not last! Always keep a spare one or two around, they go like hot cakes, 10 minute job to fix though.
Brakes; the rears have almost completely gone, pads and disc in great condition, unaware of problem. The front brakes have a locking brake fitted but when locked on for a period of about 3 minutes the bike just rolls down the driveway! It is a problem not caused by leaks in the system nor a release of the brake-lock. As soon as the lock is released, all you have to do is pump the brakes twice and they work (again).
Suspensions; The front suspension is far to stiff, and the rear shock absorber just went, causing for an amazingly bouncy (yet hilariously fun) ride, but not one for somebody who wants a comfortable quad.
Bearings; often go in rear axel, resulting in disintegration of the bearings themselves. An easy yet time consuming fix. Is a problem that one cannot avoid since the bike has no diff, so both rear wheels are having to spin at the same time around corners, over-stressing the system.
Headlights: Absolute suicide at night, you might as well strap candles to it.
Brake light; A third of the L.E.D lights have stopped working.
Electrics design: I have done some custom work around the electrics housing (under the front 'bonnet') so as through deep water and thick dust so as water, mud, clay, dust, etc. doesn't get into the electrical system.
Overall: A great bike (especially for the price!), plenty of power and torque, reliable (so far) and has it's occasional issues. Everyone who rides it loves it, and so will you! I would most recommend this quad if you have some jobs around the property and/or if you just want a great, fun time.
Will not disappoint. Handling, Capability, Fuel Consumption, Power, Stopping Distance, Durability, Price. Clutch, Brakes, Suspensions, Bearings, Headlights, Brake Light, Electrics Design.

They are still very good and they do update their bikes regularly unlike some other makes. I have owned other brands in the past. I have been buying a new ATV every 4 years since 1982. This is the third Polaris I have owned. Total Km travel on them 40,000. Very smooth ride, very good ground clearance with bash plates. The front box storage is very useful. Lots of power and very fast bike. Very stable and handles very well. Polaris are the best at a stable and safe ride I believe. Thats the main reason I have had three. Very reliable no problems. Very heavy on fuel. Nearly too heavy in the steering, mine has optional front nude bar. This is why they have realeased a new sportsman with power steering. You must use low range if going slow, otherwise vari speed will overheat and shorten its life. Work on centrifical action and if motor is not reving enough then there is low pinch on belt and it will slip causing excess heat in unit.

new part to arrive. After contacting CF Moto Australia directly as was the suggestion by the local dealership, we were met with complete disregard by the staff there. We were told that the issues were caused by abuse from us and that while they were fixing the issue under warranty, it was our fault this was all happening. Instead of following up with their freight companies as to why this is taking so long, the blame was instantly put on us. We have purchased 4 bikes through them within the past 3 months and this is how they treat their customers. It’s terrible.
